Everyone would agree that Ryan Newman is one of the best drivers ever. Championships don’t make you great
On top of that he was one of the biggest advocates for safety in the sport

Ryan Newman is just like a Timex Watch, he’s taken a licking but just keeps on ticking! He’s been in some of the absolute WORST WRECKS ever seen on any NASCAR track, and for the most part, he’s come out unscathed. One of my favorite, N.C. NASCAR drivers of all time.
His engineering background had changed the way the Nascar chassis was built. The bar that is a the top of the window opening was engineered by him, named after him, and is what possibly saved his life in 2020.
