That is the biggest hit I’ve ever seen out of the next gen car. I’ll be surprised if preece doesnt suffer a concussion. Thank god Larson was hit on the passenger side door.
@PachecoIsHim big one that comes to mind is his hit at I think it was Kentucky in the 37(or that was buescher and I’m misremembering)

I’m not sure what you guys are saying something like that about Ryan he didn’t buy his way out there he actually earn his spot and he’s a very good driver and I’m pretty sure you’re going to see that by the end of the season

If that was driver side that wouldve fucked Larson up pretty bad. They need to look into that because the roll cage shouldnt be caving in that badly

I’ve seen some images of the NG chassis, and the driver’s side has a reinforced steel plate jutting out on the driver’s side that’s welded to the rollcage.
So thankfully, that wouldn’t happen if Kyle’s side got hit.

Just google “NextGen chassis”, and you can see the pics. There’s a giant welded steel piece actually jutting out on the driver’s side.

saw this hit on live tv with my family. I was super worried when I noticed the tv camaras where not showing the scene of the crash. Glad he is ok becuase holy crap that was the hardest hit the next gen has seen. Hope he is doing alright
Even when they aren’t beating on each other Larson and Preece always find each other in these crashes.
Preece could have avoided it or lessened the impact if he hits the brakes instead of throttling up
Caution came out as soon as Gragson hit the wall, what was Preece still racing for???

I think this crash is going to wind up being a bigger deal than we realize right now. Just like the announcers said, I’ve never seen the door bars collapse like that, even on the previous generation car. Imagine if that was on the driver’s side. That could have been ugly. Possibly fatal. This could have just exposed an extremely major flaw.

remember also that we never saw an impct that intense with the old car, at least not at that angle
@D4nkfury if you count the current day xfinity cars as related to the gen 6, then you have what happened to the #2 xfinity car at Daytona last summer, which had just as hard if not a slightly harder hit. And when that car came to a rest the whole car banana’d slightly with the right door caved in pretty badly.

100% agree. It was a straightforward side T impact, do they not test for that? Like what other variable(s) did they miss? Vertical level of attack of Preece’s car in relation to 5’s ride height, squat? Either way, once again I am seeing questionable design choices and construction on this gen. I wonder if this car is being built by corporate bean counters rather than those with motorsport knowledge and experience. (See Ford disaster trying to run Jaguar F1 in early 2000s). I suspect there is an over reliance on computer crash simulations.
As a Noah fan my heart is broken he didn’t even get a top ten….

Seeing the in car camera for Preece was wild. Never seen someone shake that violently in a car. Nascar needs to do something about the roll cage, never seen that happen and shouldn’t happen. Glad both are okay.

Thats the hardest hit ive seen with the in car camera… omg i thought his eyes were gonna pop Out.
Also they always quick to act like Ross drives crazy, wasnt nothing he could do but He did not turn Noah.
At all from the video,Noah drove back down to close a hole that had a car in it then drove down on Ross to finish himself off.. He shouldve just not turned down and he had a top 12 still possibly

How the F Kyle Bush didn’t get collected is beyond me he was right behind Larson, Im pretty sure that would have been a clench the butt cheeks moment
