Thank god Preece didn’t hit the driver’s side, I’m not a fan of Larson but I’m so glad he’s ok.

If that would have hit larson on the driver’s side it would have killed him. The side went in that deep.
I believe the driver side has safety mechanisms in place for just that reason. I will say though, I’ve been watching for over 30 years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen the roll cage bend or break in that way.

Nascar needs to take a serious serious look at these cars Larson would be dead right now if that was in the driver’s door.
Who welds those frames? Never seen one crush like that.
NASCAR should check the welds on the roll bar in Kyle’s car.
I hope Kyle larson will win a Talladega win someday.
I’m really glad they’re both ok, that hit was absolutely horrendous. Seriously Preece can’t catch a damn break but at least he’s out performing how that car has been running the last few years
In roughly 30 years of watching NASCAR, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the roll cage bend or break in that way.
That wasn’t even full speed. If I had to guess, I”d say that Preece was doing about 130ish, give or take.
Micheal waltrip ,.. at bristol… Comes to mind but that was prior to the safety barriers.
That might been within 30 years , I can’t remember.
@Jeffrey Snipes I spaced that one. That was hitting the wall though, not another car. I wanna say Mike Harmon(?) had a crazy one at Bristol too where the car was ripped in half and he got hit by another car. How he survived that one, I still don’t know.
@Nomad Man thirty years around the sport, will have you forgetting a lot wreaks.
But this was definitely a hard hit, and brutal.

That was a hard hit between Kyle Larson and Ryan Preece.

I hope the 5 car is on a Nascar hauler and is going back to the R&D Shop. We are lucky Kyle didn’t get hit in the drivers door like that because he would have been hurt bad.
Hunt Brothers is not bad for gas station pizza. And I would know, I eat lot of pizza. Really good with a Yuengling beer.
Everybody is worried about how “soft” the door bars are. Need to consider how strong the front bumpers are on these new cars. It’s been talked about all season that these new cars have a solid front end. Either way, door bars should be braced to prevent tan from happening. That wasn’t even a full speed impact.
