Do you feel this wreck could have been avoided?
I think it could have been avoided only if the teams were unrestricted. I see NASCAR’s point of view. They don’t want the fans injured by flying cars. I would like to see an unrestricted race with no fans in the grandstand. I think fans are interested in seeing what the cars can do unrestricted at Talladega and or Daytona. Let’s try race unrestricted at Talladega with cup cars out-of-season
Yea let’s take away plate racing.
Yes, Wallace shouldn’t have been attempting to block Blakey.
Yes, Bubba shouldn’t have tried to block Blaney, with inches between them. He has zero experience being in 1st or 2nd place at the very end of a race. Three blocks like that, you know your going to crash. Should have let Blaney by, after 2 tries. Would have has his best finish, yet. 2nd.
Blaney was impressively aggressive. I do think Blaney timed the swerve a bit too soon, and should’ve waited till he had distance from Kyle before attempting that. Bubba didn’t do a bad job blocking either. But with an aggressive pusher like Blaney on you, I doubt even good blockers like Chase Elliott, Brad Keselowki, Joey Logano, or Denny Hamlin would even be able to handle that. But at the end of the day. It was the final lap, your fuel amount was on a razor’s edge, go big or go home.
@KJ Productions Though Blaney almost screwed himself worse. if he timed that a bit later, he could’ve wrecked himself and the whole front of pack.
@Luna Melody true
With all due respect, Logano is not a good blocker.
I agree in theory about waiting but the issue is a yellow. Esp w bubba in the lead, considering nascars history of throwing the yellow within seconds of him getting the lead w no intention of restarting. So w nascar looking for anything that halfway looked like debris and the chance of a crash ya have to make ur move sooner than later.
@Mike Oxlong I doubt that highly. The only reason Blaney probably jumped the swerve like that was because he didn’t want to take the chance his fuel would run out. Nearly the whole field had limited fuel.
rubbing is racing. I think any driver in that position trying to block would have spun. these new gen cars just spin so easy off any little bump
Very true.
It’s happened to almost every driver out there, but of course, Bubba gets overly dramatic about it and the media instantly goes into “Oh, poor Bubba” mode.
Bubba didnt get overly dramatic like wtf are yall talking about? you got examples? I dont like Bubba at all but he did nothing wrong at any point yesterday. You literally have Harvick and Larry saying he had to block, he blamed himself… like what else do yall want lol?
To be fair, Bubba did admit the crash WAS his fault. That’s progress, for him.
@Nameless Fred you see his little dramatic scene when he got outta that car?
@Mr. Hand drivers can’t show emotion now? Ffs it’s always something with you ppl. He almost won the race, he didn’t. He showed some emotion after coming that close… Is that a crime? He owned up to the mistake… nfn about what he did was overly dramatic geez
Good job bud bubba direct you wrecked everyone
Bubba’s fault. When you’re beat take 2nd and be happy. Fastest car wins. HONOR, SPORTSMANSHIP. Ole school.
He did admit it was his fault. That’s some progress, I guess.
Kyle was patient and did exactly what a veteran race car driver should do took advantage of a situation caused by inexperienced drivers. Idk what I love more seeing Bubba crying or seeing Elliot crying both makes my day
ur not a real racing fan if u enjoy someones pain
@ItsAlexTheFireGamerikr
@ItsAlexTheFireGamer I would never enjoy it if either one got physically hurt hated for Chase when he broke his leg but to see them crying over a loss that’s awesome the same way some people felt when the GOAT Tony Stewart would lose
Part of this type of racing. Great run by Bubba
top 4s last name starts with B and 5th was Brad. 7 of top 10 was a B guys.
Blaey was going to win, take your seat Bubba, don’t wreck the field
Bubba is a good plate racer and is always up there, but I feel like he always folds when it matters most
Yeah, inexperience, maybe? At least he admitted the crash was his fault this time.
At least Bubba admitted the crash was his fault, this time. I couldn’t believe he took responsibility at the end of his interview. Maybe there’s hope for him, yet. He’s only been driving 6 years or so, and 2 wins. Not bad!
Blaney didn’t do the same thing to Newman A few years ago? Thank for bubbas ok.
Bubba’s car wasn’t a lead car.. following in the draft he was ok, but leading the draft the car wasn’t up to it…
Racing on ovals, “rubbing is racing” thinking, or lack of.
Too much blocking. You can’t go back and forth and back and forth and think nothing bad’s gonna happen.
And, can somebody teach these younger guys how to get down for pit stops?
