Nope. But hopefully someday he will be. My favorite driver, but in now way is he the GOAT yet.

GOAT of modern oval racing

@SalvadorDLA no one will ever hop in any kind of race car and win with ease like he does. No he is not the GOAT of NASCAR, sprints, midgets, late models etc. but he’s one hundred percent the greatest to ever get behind the wheel of a race car.

@Bryce Large Still a nope. But again, hopefully that changes. Until he has the amount of wins and Championships as JJ, then he’s not yet earned GOAT status.

@SalvadorDLA read what he said, he doesn’t need 7 championships in NASCAR just like he doesn’t need 7 Championships in F1 or Indy. If he goes to each series and wins at least 1 championship in each then yes he would be the best to ever get behind the wheel of a race car ever. Because he just drives like nobody else does in anything he gets into with a steering wheel and pedals.

Best driver in all of the current motorsport landscape. Not sure what more he needs to prove… I’m gonna jinx that and he’s gonna find something.

If he goes and wins the Indy 500 let alone dominates he could seriously prove to be the best ever. Dominating all racing types except for moto racing.

I don’t understand why people were calling this a disappointing snoozefest. NWBS has always been a single groove racetrack. I liked the racing I saw, not everything needs to be absolute carnage with 15 caution flags and half a dozen overtimes. I’m sure that the experience in person would’ve been a hell of a lot better, though.

He sure was a one man show tonight. Can’t help but respect it. Made the rest look like they didn’t belong. Wish it was a more competitive race, but still beat Watching Texas Motor Speedway any day.

Kudos to NASCAR for bringing this track back to life. Let’s hope they keep this track next year and beyond.

Larson can and does win in any kind of car he gets into. A talent for the ages. Like him or not, he can drive a racecar.

Yeah he’s a once in a generation racer

Reply
jim gomez May 22, 2023 at 3:23 pm

He rates right up there with AJ Foyt an Mario Andretti both of who cut their teeth in midgets an sprint cars on dirt,

Congratulations Kyle!!! You done smoked em again Million Dollar Man !!!

Reply
SeventyGTX May 22, 2023 at 3:15 am

Not just tonight, but he smoked ’em in the trucks yesterday too. What a driver that should have at least 5 or 6 Cup wins already this year. Unfortunately he’s been Chastained the past few races.

Dude is so freaking talented. Putting him in a Hendrick car was basically about as unfortunate as it could get for the rest of the field.

Robert Leftwich May 22, 2023 at 3:43 am

The best car was certainly the 5 car , loved the way Larson drove it to the front. Makes me wonder what this race would’ve looked like if it had been newly paved .

From reading comments (all around) sounds like this burnout was the most exciting part of the race. (…I cut the cord this past week and didn’t watch race…)
