Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott says he did not intentionally wreck Denny Hamlin during the Coca-Cola 600. The two cars were involved in a Lap 186 wreck.

“Tear the right sides off”? You tore the right side off when you right hooked him into the wall. That was completely intentional. NASCAR needs to suspend Chase, for consistency and for the fact that Elliot right hooked him into the wall, they don’t allow that, or at least they like to think they don’t wether they enforce it or not.
I mean he obviously can’t admit it, if he does they’ll penalize him. We’ll have to see how nascar judges it but me personally I don’t think Chase is racing next week
@NascarJack he shouldn’t be
He will race next week. If I’m wrong come back and tell me.
@Perry Webb he will race next week. Everyone has become a nascar official, over this..Best thing about it was Denise ate the wall hard, for his stupid driving.
NASCAR’s most popular driver is allowed to right rear hook another driver as retaliation. Even on a straightaway in front of half the field.
Look at the rubber trail behind the 9. Take your 11 blinders off.
@Granden by taking a hard left?
Nascar most popular driver is not dumb enough to admit to cameras or go on a podcast and scream he did it on purpose. There, I fixed that for you.
Golden Child Elliot won’t get suspended because “It will hurt the brand”
facts
Hes lying but in a smart manner. Nascar is soft. This isn’t the Dale Earnhardt days. You can’t admit to wrecking someone without consequences. I don’t blame him for wrecking Hamlin. You think Tony Stewart in the press box blamed him for it? He’ll no he was laughing inside
9 should not be suspended. Look at the rubber trail behind the 9.
That part of the track is tricky with 3 wide racing. People assume it was intentional because he just got stuffed in the wall by someone he was rivals with like 6 years ago. It could have been a racing incident, it could have been intentional. I’m not going to jump to conclusions.
I’m a huge chase fan. But if, IF it was intentional, he needs to be suspended. If not intentional, then dang that sucks for everyone involved.
@Christian Pierce it looks intentional not even cause of 2017, but he literally dives down left on a straightaway
@Joshua Pittman it was in the dog leg
@Tha ToneGuy that doesn’t change it. SMT data was showing that he was turning left 4x harder than he had all race. u cant fight stats
He’s lying. But he’s being smart in a diabolical way. Lol he isn’t saying things to make it obvious.
I’m a huge Chase Elliott fan, but this is by far totally out of line I don’t know if the doctors have him on pain medication you can even hear it in his crew chiefs voice NASCAR you’re unfortunately going to have to penalize him. I know he’s your favorite driver but I can’t let my children see this kind of behavior from their favorite driver and think it’s OK. Everybody makes mistakes he’s just gonna have to be punished this time. Thank you NASCAR we love you.
No it isn’t. Look at the rubber trail behind the 9. Something is broke.
I think Chase has had enough of Hamilins BS, that maybe Denise won’t rubb him up to the wall anymore! .
Crazy how nobody is saying that chase should be arrested for hooking hamlin unlike wallace last year
I think both should be thrown to the wolves.
I am pretty sure Wallace got in trouble for shoving a official. I don’t think the rest mattered to nascar as much.
It doesn’t matter who it is, if anyone bounces off the wall they’re gonna bounce back the same distance from the impact point. It’s simple physics people
He bounced off, then turned hard left. Use your eyes, and brains people.
@Eric Anderson or did you see the rubber trail behind Chase? He broke something in his car
I’m sticking to my words. I think Clint Bowyer is wrong. I watched the whole thing at .25% video speed and I saw some small parts and pieces come off Chase’s car. My reason is because a week ago I bumped the curb with my street car and now I need an alignment for my wheels. My steering wheel is around 5 degrees out of straight and when I have my steering wheel straight my car goes dead right like I turned right. Race cars don’t get alignments. Even though it may not look like it race cars go very fast and when parts get bent there’s not a lot of time to correct it. Being here I thought you guys would know that but I guess that makes too much sense?
Explain the rubber trail behind the 9 after Denny ran the 9 into the wall. Is something broke?
Car drove straight prior to hooking Denny, then drove straight to the garage after….
That was from the truck race, likely. Or from earlier in the day as cars were pretty sideways.
“Its over for me with my right sides, might as well risk making it over for everybody else for absolutely no legitimate reason”
His right side is apparently broken he says, that’s why he can turn left on a straightaway… Adds up, not
@Matt Fetter sounds fair to me
Yes unfortunate circumstances including cranking the steering wheel left 4 times farther then you did in the entire race up to that point
Rockem Sockem racing. What the youngsters want and is condoned for $ Up the intrigue with the card.
Ross Chastain used up his right side from 10th position at Martinsville last year, but he cut 2 seconds off the fastest lap time, jumped 50MPH over the field, and passed 5 cars up to 5th place, to advance in the championship!
Chase Elliot and Kyle Larson fans.. the Bud Light Drinkers favorites
Hamlin drove Elliott into the wall.
Personally as a big Elliot fan myself, I don’t want to believe that he did this on purpose but if NASCAR rules that he did do it on purpose, I’ll be extremely disappointed if they do not suspend him for one race.
They won’t suspend anybody for a intentionally wrecking somebody.
