For those who dont know Carson Hocevar is filling in the 7 while Corey drives the 9
Berry isn’t because the Xfinity race is at a different track across the Country
Thank you sir! I was wondering that just now. Lol If my boy MTJ don’t win,Ill definitely be rooting for Corey in the #9. Hopefully they’ll put him in a top team’s seat next year!
im new to nascar , can you explain why are they filling the car with another driver?
@BlacklightVirus Replacement drivers had been a thing in Nascar forever. But it was because the main driver, Chase Elliott was suspended but the team/car still will race next weekend.
@BlacklightVirus Basically to keep the money flowing. They have sponsors on that car that they want to keep happy. If they park the car or dont run,the #9 team and organization will lose money. As will there sponsors. It all comes full circle. Just like with any business
I doubt denny is going to stop fencing people but he going to still do it
He didn’t fence him. Watch the video. Hamlin got it slowed enough. The air fucked both of em and robot chase short circuits.
@Justin Psycho Monkey Johnson to me he looked like he Cleary was trampling him for 4 laps
Chase and Chastain are what’s wrong with Nascar. It’s a dead man walking.
@the ultimategmoney 2023 NASCAR dude – top gear running hard because he was clearly faster isn’t trampling. Every single driver runs exactly the same way. Even chase. 10 to 20 years ago the driver of the 9 would have lifted and followed the 11 through traffic.
@Brian Jones Chase being compared to Chastain? I don’t see it. But okay.
Im even happier to see Corey Lajoie get a shot in a top tier ride.
Last I heard all cars are the same unless they went back to the old style car and I didn’t hear about it
That’s the only good to come out of this….
@Steve Carey Still got the setups, teams, etc.
Funny to hear an owner trash talk his own driver , even funnier when it’s spinny hamlin.
The biggest problem I have is NASCAR is so inconsistent on making calls. So why not Ross when he wrecked Poole. Or when denny wrecked kyle at Kansas. They need to fix this grey area
It’s a clear hook out of turn 4 going 180+, the same as las vegas and the same punishment. It’s a start.
Hamlin has junked FAR more people the last 2 years than Ross and Chase combined.
Ross didn’t right rear hook someone into the wall.
Or Denny at Phoenix or Richmond, intent is intent is intent. I really don’t care why you do it, if you do it on purpose, you should be either penalized or suspended.
That was almost exactly how Dale died. Wrecking someone is one thing, turning him head on to the wall at full speed is so wrong.
Dale wrecked himself.
@DerrickRG
thats true, we all know that. Doesnt change that they both went head on into the wall the same way.
Dale wasn’t wearing a Hans device is what unfortunately led to his death.
@Chase Jordan 2 things that saved Denny Hamlin, safer barrier, and the Hans Device.
Denny 100% dies from this wreck if its 2001 level safety. Should not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Brad K does a nice job of expressing himself on this show
While I agree with the suspension for it, I also notice Denny is often nearby when things happen.
It looked to me like Chase turned slightly left in order to keep his swerving/bouncing car from hitting the wall again.
BTW – I am a Denny Hamlin supporter.
Thank-you, nobody thought to check and see if Chase maybe had a broken toe link after the wall hit either. If he did, that car will drive dramatically different.
So when the data says different than you how can you explain that ……… BTW – Smoke fan
if something was broken he wouldnt have caught the car before hooking hamlin watch the dang replay.. PLUS chase broke his car wrecking hamlin which dammed his arguement that something did break bouncing off the wall
also it doesnt matter and wont validate your arguement saying youre a fan of someone in said incident
@Kharn The Betrayer ” when the data says different”
The data does not say different.
When a car begins to push(tight) because of bouncing off a wall which makes the car unstable and causes fluxuating weight distribution to its tires, it is certainly not unheard of for the condition to need a momentary 120 degree left steering input TO KEEP THE CAR FROM HITTING THE WALL AGAIN. That said, doing so can cause an unintended overcorrection if the front tires begin to grip the surface more because of the fluctuating weight distribution to the tires. Such an overcorrection WOULD NOT constitute overcorrecting on purpose.

Do you have telemetry data for how much weight was transfered to the track from each tire at each moment?
Please provide it if you get it.
Chase: “Once you hit the wall, you cant drive them”
Also Chase: *Proceeds to drive it a mile and a half back to his pit*
His suspension was damaged after the first hit to the wall. Not saying he could not have hooked Denny, he certainly could have, but his car also looked damaged pretty bad after the wall hit.
draggin a right rear tire….
Also not at race speed.
Not at speed…
@mattandsam32 If you look to Joey Logano and his car after his wreck at Atlanta 2 last year, not a race speed, he couldn’t hold the car straight. If Elliott’s car was as bad as he said it was, that’s what it would have been doing and then some
Waltrip’s comments were comical considering that he drove for the guy that wrecked people by hooking the right rear to the point where law Enforcement called the Pit Maneuver the Earnhardt.
Denny has done the same thing multiple times,no reason to cry
no he hasn’t. go ahead and give an example.
@TheDirtysouth276 you’ve already been given examples in all of these comments
My two cents worth. DH has never raced Elliott cleanly. DH tried wrecking Elliott twice before that. DH should get a day off too for bringing it that point.
Denny is just as bad as Chase in all this. Not sure why Denny hates Chase. I know Chase is a jerk at times, but if you look at how Chase and Kevin behaved, it is totally different if you ask me. They talked man to man and eventually made up. Not sure Chase will ever really like Denny again hardly. I think Chase and Harvick get along well as they did before.
@Easy E Network Chase isn’t a jerk if these guys would race him with respect he would return the favor that’s the problem they don’t about 75 percent of the time…
Wa
@Easy E Network Denny has always been jealous of anything involving Hendrick.
ThE telemetry and damage on the 9 make me believe more that it was not intentional. The black marks after the wall prior to hitting the 11 indicate a loss of traction and a damaged rr.
The telemetry in the car showed an aggressive turn of the steering wheel itself by Chase, guess that’s why HMS is not appealing the penalty.
Y’all remember when Hamlin purposely kept Bowman from enjoying his win at Martinsville?
