Chase Elliott: _reads the Las Vegas race script…_
the script: *_HMS full finishes 1-2-3-couch._*
@Anita Garrison I’m a old smoke fan ….. I feel your pain .
Was blown away with how fast Hendricks were. Damn. Starting to catch on that Penske is only good for qualifying but race trim, they ain’t even close. Toyota still has work to do, they seem to struggle in traffic, HMS cars not so much. Been a fun start of the season so far
It’s Hendrick not Hendricks.
HMS seems to maybe struggle with short runs a little, but have been good in long runs.
@NoSoyAllowed didn’t ask
It feels so cool seeing Byron winning again
It’s been a rough last 10 – 12 months
yeah he didnt get a top 10 for like 18 races in a row
Yeah, there was something about that stretch that was just odd. I have to say, even at auto club I was a little concerned.
@Lewis Linn if he wins that race at Darlington, does he have that rough stretch?
He looked strong in last years playoffs just didn’t have enough to make the final 4. Don’t really know what happened during the second half of the regular season
During that rough stretch last summer 24 fans would cringe every time Byron hit pit road. It looks like Rudy has the crew hitting on all cylinders now.
I feel bad for Kyle Busch. He started 4th, hit the wall, fell to 10-12th then finished 14th. I was hoping for more. Hopefully Phoenix will be better
Blaney had recovered and then because of that late yellow, went back to 13th or so.
SHR needs to get Harvick a back brace with all this carrying hes doing.
Ya I think tony needs to get out of the booth and go fix his team
Ryan Preece I think will do really good at the short ovals where you have to brake because at the clash Preece was really good with corner exit speed
@Transportationfan0923Yes, but not sure you can rely on that to win unless you have unreal luck and speed.
Ford in general is doing poorly.
Byron and bowman are looking a lot better than last season
Hendrick looks faster out of the gate than last year.
Have a feeling bowmans new crew chief is gonna unlock his full potential I’ve never seen bowman have this much speed and consistency 3 races in a row
Phoenix gon be the true eye test for me cause that track has been a nightmare for him lol
That move up the middle was manly
Last time was 2019 when he had 3 top 2s
@Keezy Baby96 which is sad considering how good he CAN be there
@Blake Andrews he qualified in the top 10 last year
I think the 5 and 24 were basically equal. It just comes down to who had the lead, clean air was going to make it so whoever was leading was going to stay there
The 24 was faster over the entire run and the 5 was faster for 10 laps to start and maybe middle part of the run. Bowman had little short run speed and kept getting back in traffic.
I was surprisingly pleased with Danica in the booth today. I still hate the lack of synergy the commentators seem to have with each other, but Danica was nice to listen to when she was talking.
I feel like Clint Bowyer seems like he’s always trying to chase she’s trying to say. He tends not to have good synergy with other people in the booth.
@Nascar alert Agree, he talks too much.
She was terrible imo. She obviously doesn’t follow Nascar week to week. Clint is no better. I think they should pull Clint and put in Larry and Jamie Mac.
We are in the minority. Other than the stupid banter with Bowyer I didn’t mind her valid points but man her and Bowyer going back and forth was too much.
Shes way better than Leah Hextall, for hockey fans
Daniel Suarez has a top 10 finish in all 3 races this far this year. Only him and Bowman have done that
Consistency will pay off
@David SNot with the dumb playoffs.
I believe!
They’re making cases of being sleepers this year…but still 33 races left this year.
@john carl it can as long as they can sustain it and win at least a race and top 5 and top 10 (and not stringing together mediocre or worse finishes in the playoffs)their way to Phoenix, I doubt Suarez would be the one to do it but it can still work to an extent, I mean, Newman almost won a championship in this format and didn’t win a single race all year
As an elliott fan it hurts knowing how strong hendrick was and that he probably would’ve been up there as well
Another 1-2-3-4 on the table!
DAMN YOU MEDICAL PHYSICS!!!!!!
I enjoyed it. The occasional race absolutely dominated by 1 driver or team is ok with me. It’s like watching an artist at work. I hope most races have exciting multi lead changes, last lap passes etc.
but occasionally its great watching a driver whoop the entire field
I’m just glad it wasn’t Truex. Not because I don’t like him, I’m just not yet recovered from his run of such wins
@Crush1084 yeah he really blew em all away at charlotte back in the day
@Crush1084Larson was kicking butt all 2021, one of the most dominant seasons ever.
This race was all the proof we need to show William Byron is worthy of the 24.
I thought people would say this after his dominant Martinsville race last year but it’s good to see that here too!
@Evan Jehle Dominated Homestead in 2020. Dominated Atlanta and Martinsville last year. Destroyed the field today. 4 of his 5 wins were clinics
@Steve Kuharski yup I remember all of them. He was laps leader for a good portion of last year too. Hopefully they can build on this
He should have more wins but a lot of misfortune and bad calls on strategy have hurt them but I see them correcting those issues this year and winning 4-5 races .. pit crew is lights out this year too !!
This was an awesome race. Dominant performances make it interesting. Too bad there were stage breaks because Byron would have had half the field a lap down. Performance like this was classic NASCAR. Some days a team can put on a clinic, and domination needs to be appreciated for what it is.
Think Truex in the 600 a few years ago. He stunk that show up big time and it was his day to shine.
Congrats to my boy Cindric for bringing it home in the top 10, and congrats to Byron for dominating like he did.
Indy car was way better
As a Byron fan this was incredible!!! The right driver won
Hopefully next week, Stenhouse is competitive so we can feel the awkwardness from the FOX booth.
The perfect fit for the booth is Kurt Busch. I loved when he was on Xfinity broacdasts with Logano, I think both of them do great
Yes! I was so hoping Kurt would be the new guy for fox
Disappointing ending, but glad to see Brad K beginning to find some of his prior success and running near the front again this time with RFK. Really interested to see how they progress as the season goes on
