That might’ve been SHRs best shot all year with all four cars
I still think Preece has a great shot at New Hampshire
Harvick can still win
@ReSyrum He’s good at the tracks where you have to brake so yeah he does have a pretty good shot there
I’m gonna say it: for Martinsville at least, I miss the 2020-2021 750 HP package.
I miss the old car on the tracks under 1.5 and road courses.
@poly cube absolutely
@poly cube you haven’t had the chance to see the new car with proper HP at short tracks though
They’ll never ever do it again. It costs the teams more money, and they are trying to go away from combustion eventually. The low horsepower has ruined short track racing forever. Such a shame.
I was happy that Preece lead a lot of laps, I was mad about what happened about Busch but overall not a bad race.
Pretty unbelievable comeback by Truex. Went a lap down, caught a lucky caution, and his car came to life. Great job to him!
Look a logano, started in the back, was also a lap down, got lucky on the caution/pit strat and got 2nd
Finally some luck and a solid run there at the end
Car didn’t come to life it’s just hard to pass once u get track position
The car came to life just a bit too late. I’m convinced he could’ve made it to the front if the car was right earlier in the race
@Random Gamer lol yea it did he went from 12th 2 3rd n 50 laps lol
as a joey fan: the fact he started dead last and somehow finished 2nd made my sunday topsy turvy. i’ll take it
Not to mention that his Average Running position was between 21st-23rd
Same
I was quite annoyed by that
he said that many times, a driver would be annoyed by a 2nd place finish, but today was not one of those days. he KNEW he had been given a gift today.
Track position and a very fortunate break. He couldn’t get out of the back of the pack for the first 300 laps.
Can we talk that Briscoe has had 2 straight top 5s with a broken finger? And had the potential to win both Bristol and Martinsville?
Agree very impressive!
Nah let’s talk about Kyle Larson winning again.much better topic
@Dan DanielsYeah, it Larson is better than Briscoe anyhow.
I’m really impressed of how Stenhouse is doing this season. 1 Win, 2 Top 5’s and 3 Top 10’s in the first 9 races finishing inside rhe Top 10 in 4 of the 9 races!
I’m pretty sure he actually has 4 top 10s after this race
Yeah he’s turned it up a notch this year
By what I know this team will bd a Toyota next season with technical assistance and TRD motors. There will be more to the story.
Stenhouse was a contender in the Nationwide series. He might become one this series since he has a win.
I will say that since the race was on fs1, the commercials were hardly an issue, and Bobby Labonte in the booth was great. Solid A for the broadcast.
Yeah but I’m noticing Mike Joy says a lot of cringey things from time to time. I miss Bob Jenkins
@Steve Carey Mike Joy needs to retire. Snarky comments are one thing, but mistakes are a regular thing for him. Sad but happens to everyone.
@James Johnson Mike Joy is fine.
Yes I like Bobby, he is down to earth, normal, complete opposite to Bowyer.
Labonte is not good at all. The whole Fox booth needs an overhaul!!
The train that kept honking was hilarious
That was a NASCAR hauler
@americanwalmarts3565 that was definitely a train, Norfolk Southern to be exact!
@American Walmarts the train tracks run right down almost parallel to the back straightaway. It’s the reason Martinsville is shaped as a paperclip.
@John LaFever interesting…
@randall ellison You could tell by the horn and that they WOULDN’T STOP BLOWING THE HORN.
Glad that Chase Elliott is back and finished in the top 10 finish.
I feel bad for Todd Gilliland, he ran between 8th – 15th all day but ended up with a disappointing finish.
Glad he’s got the full season opportunity, he could try to end up in the Top 20
Easy change: bring back HP, especially at these tracks. The engines are no different than before except that they have smaller tapered spacers to limit their HP.
Meanwhile over in the NHRA Tony Stewart won his first National Event driving the McPhillips A/Fuel Dragster and Tony’s Funny Car Driver Matt Hagen won his 3rd of the 4 races of the season! Leah went rounds as well.
Don’t worry about the background noise, it gives the live coverage character.
Good to see the 5 car win especially at this track. RIP Ricky Hendrick
Eric it’s pretty cool to see how far you have came in the nascar world! Keep it up brother!! Your Chanel is my go to for honest Nascar news!
The 41 teams biggest mistake was not taking 2 for track position and getting themselves back up front at the Stage 2 break following the speeding penalty. They continued to take 4 all race long in a race where there wasn’t much tire falloff and track position was at a premium.
It’s nice to be disappointed with the result and hopefully they can keep building on what they are doing now. I always say however without risk there is no reward. Gotta be willing to take those risks when you are behind and know the field you are playing.
Had a fun day at Martinsville Speedway. Got to meet Eric for the 1st time. Also glad Chase Elliott got a top ten finish.
As much as I have enjoyed Martinsville races in the past, these last two with the new car has become a virtual no passing race. If for some reason you get shuttled back, it’s going to take some outstanding driving or luck to get anywhere near where you were. Outside of the first 3 – 4 finishing positions, I suspect that many of the teams left a bit discouraged. Kudos to Larson and Logano (especially Joey) for their 1-2 finishes.
