That Cody ware news was mad unexpected
Unfortunately it runs in the family
You could say the same thing if he actually lucked into a top 5! L0L
@Rob Rohrer Wow
Yea prob didn’t know he was getting arrested lol.
It’s a real bummer. I always liked Cody ware and loved what he stood for. Innocent until proven guilty though. Too bad.
Sad for you begins a fan of his.
ngl i wasnt expecting cody to get arrested.
I mean who was?
@TrailsVonMudder fair enough lol
More likely than him getting a top 5 even on a plate track.
I would like to formally announce that I will now be the driver of the #51 Rick Ware Racing car.
You’ll probably improve that team.
He can’t payback Hamlin
You gonna rig the race so Denny can actually win?
@The Diecast Hub Or Chastain doesn’t?
They just called me. You are out. I am in.
Because of this, Denny Hamlin will be docked 100 points and 25 playoff points
Lmao
NASCAR put in the non-competitive pit stops simply to keep Denny from getting a pit lane penalty. Denny rule.
Jeff Gordon added as the 17th driver in the chase
Must be Chastain’s fault
Yeley already drives the #15 for the most part. I would imagine that the replacement would either be Zane Smith (as an up-and-coming Ford driver), or a guy like Garrett Smithley (as an established RWR driver).
I say keep Crafton if they can
@Wisconsin222 ^ this. Crafton might be getting up there in age but all that experience in Trucks… Man has been long overdue for a cup ride
Smithley is
Really doesn’t matter who they put in that car. The problem is that the car sucks and it doesn’t make financial sense to invest more money to gain a few positions cause the payouts are very flat. RWR will stay in the back no matter what.
maybe get Ben Rhodes or Ty Majeski? I don’t know I fantasize a lot lmao
Feeling that we can see Zane Smith, Riley Herbst and maybe even Cole Custer to make starts in the #51. High chance that we probably get some road course ringers too.
Joey Hand and James Davison come to mind
I’d love to see Hand back in the series. Although the results don’t match how he ran, when he was in the 15 car for RWR, he did very well.
Custer would probably shine at a first-rate team like RWR
@William Murtha RWR>SHR?
Honestly I bet we get a Hailie Deegan in a race or two
Rick Hendrick, like all other NASCAR team owners, will continue to find any loopholes in NASCAR’s rules.
As he and any competitor should do
Jeff Gordon essentially admitted that in public statements
Hell, look at the loophole Rick Hendrick played on the federal government when he faced prosecution
Which is what any team should do. I used to ferried cheating, but finding loopholes is just part of it. Guys like Smokey Yunick and Leonard and Glenn Wood would do all kinds of things to exploit the rule book or outright cheat.
Thank you for all your hard work. Love hearing your side of things. I may not agree with it all but that’s okay. That’s what makes us fans of an awesome sport. I don’t like how secretive Nascar has been with the penalties and hope they open up more about what they are penalizing for. Some how there has to be a balancing party for the teams and drivers who makes sure Nascar is fair when handing out penalties. Otherwise we see what happens.
as an ex cody ware twitter superfollower, i’m disappointed. he talked to us and he was an advocate for mental health. seriously I just never thought he’d do something like that.
Remember, innocent until proven guilty. You don’t know the evidence or the case.
@Jared Champagne that’s what i’m telling myself, but i don’t wanna get my hopes up on something like this.
@Jared Champagne true but wise of Nascar to be cautious until matters are resolved.
@DroMeetsPhoto NASCAR will always jump to the Legal side of Guilty until proven innocent.
@waycic everyone is capable of doing something that puts themselves in a bad situation.
While a truck series regular would be hard to pull off, I could see Zane Smith coming in to replace Ware for the season. Zane is undoubtedly going to Cup next year and given how he has performed already in the cup series with very solid runs everywhere, his ties with Ford could make him a viable option to fill in when he is not already occupied with the cup races he’s already scheduled to undertake
If they are smart, I would call Zane first. Or somebody like Crafton or maybe Herbst. Custer as well.
Regarding Matt Crafton (who’s definitely one of the all-time greats in the Truck Series); it seems like his entire Cup Series career has been the “go-to substitute” (subbed for Paul Menard on a few occasions, an injured Kyle Busch, Matt Tifft and replacing Cody Ware yesterday).
he never replaced truex. he replaced matt tifft at the 2019 first data 500, though.
@Delcrew Thanks for the correction
I hope Rick Ware Racing continues, they’ve given multiple drivers a chance in NASCAR. I hope they bring back David Ragan, he had two top tens with them last year. His brother Carson has raced a few times in the lower series
ragan retired full time 4 years ago
I hope someone buys RWR team outright, with all its resources and staffs and assets
I like how you made it sound like Nascar arrested Cody Ware at first. Unfortunate and disgusting news though.
I can’t believe that Ross Chastain let Cody Ware do this. When will we draw the line
Gotta say… NOT Funny!
@doug h here we go!
not funny! didn’t laugh!
@Delcrew I laughed
@Jimmy Henderson Me to
Eric, I am so happy that you are starting to roll in it. Most NASCAR dudes purchase a fancy house on Lake Norman. Enjoy the acreage and square feet of your new mansion. I will always tell people, I’ve been watching Eric videos since he was a normal person.
Hi Eric! From what I understood Nascar was supposed to display the illegal parts. I was wondering if you could find some footage and tune in us fans on what the difference was. Thanks keep up the great work!
It’s going to be hard to display what Hendrick Motorsports did since it’s not a part.
Cody Ware’s story as a teen could be the reason for his mental health after what the bullies did to him. The bullies set Cody on fire, and stayed in a burned unit for like three months. His mental state from that incident was traumatic. Cody’s mental state may have finally snapped. It sounded like he needed to have been seeing a shrink all these years. If it was his mental state that was from that incident? The person with mental health suffers from it and others around him are also suffer with them. I don’t think he should see jail time, but I could see the judge orders Cody to see a shrink in a psych ward.
Thoughtful reply. By age 27, Ware should have had a LOT of intensive psychiatric care and medication management,, many options. He has, by his own public admission, been struggling for a long time. If those avenues of treatment haven’t been pursued, consistently, something has been SERIOUSLY amiss. Regardless, if those charges stick… Nail him. Whether that means a psych hospital or jail. (I can tell by many comments here that male anger and excuse-making is endemic. Ugly. Appalling. Despicable. Yours is not.)
I don’t care You don’t touch a woman like he did He could have killed the poor girl yeah either he gets a big time sentence behind bars or in the middle institution for years but they could tack on attempted murder charge too
@Chuck the brindle pittie I think that lies on the feet of Cody’s parents including his father Rick. It seems he have shown signs since those bullies tried to murdered him took a lot in him. This is what I think he may have, but I am not an expert, but it is guesses. Anger, panic attacks, anxiety, depression, loneliness, paranoia, PTSD, psychosis, schziparinoia, self-harm, stress, suicidal feelings, and trauma, PTSD might be in play because we have seen people with PTSD became violent when they get into those mood swings. There have been warning signs especially in recent years in NASCAR with his issues including with his teammates.
Time to call Garrett Smithley. Have had many great chats with him when RWR came to Langley AFB. He’s a class act who represented the company well. Was sad when he was let go to give Cody the seat. I fully understand his dad wanting to provide for his son. But now I pray they can focus on helping Cody get through this and whatever his future brings. All while a solid choice like Garrett can keep the 51 car out of wrecks and can continue to improve to their program.
The only reason the penalty was limited to Byron and Bowman was because those are the only two cars they took back to the R&D Center. It seems very likely that every Hendrick car would have failed, and possibly still would.
