The timing of this announcement couldn’t have been any worse.
How so?
@Steve Canney It’s a joke. When 23XI signed Tyler Reddick to drive the 45, RCR tweeted that sentence.
NASCAR handing out penalties like Oprah handing out a free car
YOU get a penalty! and YOU get a penalty! and YOU get a penalty! and YOU get a penalty! and YOU get a penalty! and YOU get a penalty! and …..
@Lyle Francis Delp EVERYONE GETS A PENALTY!
@Lyle Francis Delp ha ha ha ha
@Cole Murray not his fault he got more like than you
@Gigachad I’m not saying that I’m pissed that he made a similar reply to mine in a different video. I was just pointing it out besides, I think there was another person who commented the same thing on that same video I commented on.
And after that penalty, Harrison Burton is still below Austin Dillion in points.
Is it time to say Wood Brothers made a mistake not giving Matty D another year?
No it’s not Matty D couldn’t get it done in basically in another Penske car Burton is still a young buck I’d say wait until the end of the season to make assumptions
@Charles He did absolutely atrocious last season.
@Lil Twizz that was his rookie year. If the results are the same this year, I would say let him go, but everybody says he’s a long term project. Logano, Larson, etc didn’t come out guns a-blazing in their first few years, but they weren’t as bad as Burton, either.
@The Spotter’s Stand Matt DiBenedetto almost won like a billion times in the 21. He technically should’ve won at Talladega, because Hamlin passed below the double yellow line.
I honestly feel bad for Matty D. Had he been in a penske car I’m pretty sure he would have not just a win, but multiple wins. I think Matty D did better than most would have in that car.
I’ll give Burton a break though. He is new and I’m not expecting him to start competing for championships out of the gate
I’m with Kevin Harvick. 1000 hp spec…order it!
not sure if they need 1000hp but an extra hundred or so seems like a good idea. if it is not enough, fix it next year.
Single source parts should be sent to NASCAR first for inspection and then sent to the teams.
Your exactly right but then Nascar would have no one to blame for these junk asz parts. At this rate i’m starting to wonder if these parts are made in China.
Do you want me to drive your car with your chosen parts. Miss the days of Junior Johnson and innovation
been thinking this for awhile
You would be creating a bureaucracy at that point. Knowing how inconsistent and inefficient NASCAR is, you would just end up creating more problems.
Not to mention, there would be wild rumors of NASCAR favoring a team by giving them the best parts.
They go to a “single source” warehouse where everything is inspected before shipping out, and ran by Nascar employees. The parts are not all made from a single place.
Damn, nobody is learning from the previous harsh penalties that teams suffered since the Gen 7 came out
The culture of working in the grey are isn’t going to change overnight lol.
@Sam Harris they be getting caught. That’s how ya cheat. Yes I’m staying the obvious lol. But man, you ain’t cheating if you don’t get caught. And that’s the issue for the teams. It’s crazy
@IanPerez2000 Look up the definition of “cheating.” It does not mention anything about “getting caught.” Your logic eludes me.
@Chuck the brindle pittie in my defense, I tried way too hard to make sense. Sometimes I have a hard time explaining better about anything in general. Sorry, Chuck
So many mid week penalties this season, this feels like more than all of 2000-2022 seasons combined lol
probably used a grade 7 bolt when the rule calls for a grade 8 bolt to hold on a plastic piece that will break 1000 times sooner than any bolt.
_Richard Childress Racing understands NASCAR’s position and we are focused on winning a championship, although the timing of this announcement couldn’t have been any worse._
Ah DennyDelivers, you’re always commenting something wisecracking on Eric’s videos. Do you ever watch anything else besides his content?
I’m just trying to figure out how are they determined to win a championship when Austin Dillon is driving that car. It just doesn’t make any sense.
Definitely more hp is needed in these next gen cars,it’s interesting dale Jr mention softer break rooters on these cars.
Break rooters? Lol
Man, I never thought I would miss the days of NASCAR saying things like: “yeah, we’re gonna add a radiator pop-off valve and change the size of the grille opening next week. Oh, and the restrictor plate is 57/64ths now.” Apparently, the alternative is magnitudes slower.
I think it might be beneficial that NASCAR worries first about the on track product vs attracting more OEM’s to the sport.
Honestly I don’t think NASCAR is even thinking about changing things to make the racing better. I think it’s more so the drivers and media. I would hope that they’d make more adjustments.
You know what is funny about NASCAR trying to attract more manufacturers is that they still can’t get a fourth manufacturer to come in! They screwed it with Dodge so who the hell else should join in on the parade? Honda? Nissan? Audi? BMW?
How about instead of teams getting their parts directly from Nascar’s single source suppliers. How about the single source suppliers being required to supply all parts directly to Nascar’s R&D department for a final quality control inspection directly from Nascar. Then teams only get inspected parts directly from Nascar and not the single source suppliers anymore. This would greatly reduce the likelihood of teams claims that they received defective parts. Makes perfect sense to me.
Yes. If it’s out of spec, it’s on only the team and nobody else can be blamed.
Teams will still argue that the parts were not inspected properly.
at this point after listening to The Dale Jr Download for the past year or so, I’m convinced if Nascar allowed Jr to run the show, the better the drivers would feel, and the changes he would make would bring some real popularity back into the sport
I think tires with grooves sounds like a good idea. Short track racing is lacking excitement as of late.
I absolutely want more HP, but I think with things like the tires or brakes they can sort of “simulate” higher HP by making it that much easier to overcook a turn.
I realize you said no short tracks are coming up, but North Wilkesboro is soon and I think everyone wants that to be a great success. With the current package I think it’ll be more of the same.
