Ross intimidated him just the idea that he was there made the 20 overreact
Bell lowkey got the deer in headlight look all natural. He drove up through the field though.
I don’t blame Truex for being angry, James small has made some really costly strategy mistakes lately
I’m a big Truex fan and I think he needs a new crew chief, from what I remember they haven’t been getting along for quite a while. Don’t need someone amazing just someone different
I agree with you bro…
Yeah seems like James Small went to the Alan Gustafson school of race strategy. I feel for Truex on that one. As soon as I saw those guys in stage one use the extra set early, I knew that had a good chance to bite them at the end.
Lately?? James small needs to go. Periodt.
Totally agree. It looks like JGR is an organization in turmoil and some serious staff changes are needed immediately. I have questioned some of James Smalls calls and he needs to be replaced.
@BDeLuca4444 You do know James was the Strategist/ Engineer when Martin won the Championship?
If truex’s team would have ran them scuffs sooner in the race and saved him some sticker tiers i think he would have won this one
Such a dumb move on Small’s part to pit again for new tires in stage 1 with such few laps on the existing set. I knew that call would bite hard when it mattered most.
I think many of us questioned that call because it did bite them at the worst time.
Agreed. What a dumb call. 4 tires are everything.
That indycar race at Texas was the best race ive ever seen at that track in the last decade
@hansolo989 OMG your right what a race!!!
I felt bad for Pato O’Ward. He was lights out most of the race and should have won.
It was awesome and so was this one!
Proof you don’t need overtime for a great finish, too.
Honestly when it comes to racing with scuffs, James 100% should’ve told MTJ cause you have a NASCAR champion behind the wheel and sending him out without telling him the situation is complete joke.
seems like vital, race defining information to me, I’d love to know the reasoning as to why Truex’s crew chief thought keeping him in the dark was the correct decision.
Ross Chastain has become a concept to his rivals. A Jungian psychological archetype symbolising the destruction of dreams until you wake up and remember it’s a stock car race. Chastain is just doing his job in reality.
Ross just out there living in people’s heads rent free.
@teebob21 s going to reply the same thing haha. This generation’s intimidator.
@MaViC Ross: **exists**
The field: He made me wreck by being there!
@teebob21 yeah pretty much haha. Glad he made it to the sport and that TH is able to give him a car he can wheel to the front.
Lmao Ross Chastain has become the dragon of chaos. someone tell Jordan Peterson
Congrats to Chandler Smith and Carson Hocevar for getting their first wins!
Ross Chastain is saving a lot of money on real estate. He’s living rent free in a lot of drivers heads.
I’m not sure that’s a good thing on his part.
Ross is the boogie man. Drivers lose a lot of sleep because of his talent. Top 5 driver.
That needs to be his Nickname now, he needs to be called the Boogieman of Nascar
You mean the lack there of!
@UPracefan Chastain has same amount of wins as Hamlin and more then Harvick, Busch & Larson in the last year and they’re supposed to be the TOP dogs in the sport. So who has the lack of talent?
Average talent just looks good after driving through others for position. Karma is absolute, only a matter of time before the field enacts “mirror policy “
As a Truex fan, his crew has screened him out of so many wins in the past year or so. When he was winning, all I thought about was “I will believe a win when I see it, just wait, I already know what’s coming”.
yeah after that i definately see him retiring at the end of the season
@Mike Oborowsky sadly I think your right.
Seems to be the story with JGR. Hamlin’s crew is known for it too
For real, even Sunday best car checked out. You knew the caution was coming.
Now you know how you feel when beshore was Kyle crew chef
The absolute NERVE OF Ross Chastain to try and win a race.
You can still try and win a race and not run into everything on your way there.
Let’s call it what it is. Ross is the new Ron Hornaday. He’s the king of restarts and if there’s room, He’s going to take advantage of the opposition. Yeah, he has made mistakes before, but Ross is a very calculated driver. He proved that at M’ville. The only wrecking ball was the one who knock down the pins, look at yourself in the mirror Bell. You reacted and made a mistake, it happens. Learn from it and move on, but don’t blame somebody else for your mistake.
Seeing everyone turn into a whiney crybaby whenever Ross is within shouting distance makes me more of a fan of his.
No-Balls Bell wetting his pants over Fire Ball Chastain is the finest form of intimidation by dominance.
Ross has been and always will be an aggressive driver that at times will do dumb moves. However, he seems to just get blamed for every single incident that is even near him. He is basically making drivers wreck themselves because they are afraid he is going to hit them when in reality he has been a lot better lately.
Seems to me after having watched the race that Hamlin was the wrecking ball, Ross just owns space (rent free) in so many of the other drivers heads right now it is almost a comedy show.
Credit to Chastain responding to the recent pot-stirring with “well those other guys can’t be bothered to say anything to my face so I don’t really care”
Def the right response. If I were him, I wouldn’t care what any cowards think anyways. They won’t say anything to his face & only Denny had the courage to pay him back on the track, which earned them a reset on their rivalry. Ross’s aggression is what drew me to him in the first place at COTA!
There ya go Christopher Bell, now you’re fitting in at JGR just fine now.
