Unfortunate circumstances but awesome news about josh Berry, but honestly I’m more excited about Jordan Taylor. Don’t know what I expect just excited to see him in a cup car.
@Cole Murray It’s probably not easy making sure everyone’s schedules free. It’s also only March so I’m sure Button would love to enter in the #91 but these F1 drivers
HMS 100% made the right choice by keeping Josh Berry for ovals and adding Jordan Taylor for COTA. I’m really excited to see Taylor at COTA. I’d love to see Elliott back in 6 weeks.
How ya FIGURE? How does that help the 9 team b prepared for short tracks once chase returns…BERRY HAS 0 EXPERIENCE N THIS GEN CAR, CANT GIVE APPROPRIATE FEEDBACK TO ADJUST AND ADVANCE THE CAR IN CHASE’S ABSENCE …THERE WHERE DRIVERS WITH NEXTGEN EXP WHO COULD HAVE HELPED THAT PROCESS VERY MUCH, NOT TO MENTION THEIR OWN CAREER!!! WOULD HAVE BEEN WIN WIN. BERRY ALSO AINT PUTTIN BUTTS N SEATS, I TRADED MY TICKETS FOR RICHMOND & MARTINSVILLE, THE SECONDARY MARKET IS FLOODED AND NO LONGER ALLOWING TO TRADE OUT FOR LATER RACES
Truthfully, I don’t believe Berry has hardly any pressure on him from Hendrick or the sponsors.
The reason people were paying attention to Ty Gibbs’ performance at 23XI was because we all knew he was going to the cup series next year. So he had something to prove.
On the other hand, Berry is just a reserve driver for a few weeks. I have no doubt he wants to do well, and he will try his best. But I think it’s unfair to put high expectations on him simply because he’s driving the 9 car for a little bit.
I hope Berry can do well. He’s a wheelman, but I’ll be on the edge of my seat hoping he can finish well enough these weeks to get attention from teams and sponsors.
Honestly, we don’t even know what precise kind of risks Chase was taking. It’s an activity that he’s, apparently, not a novice doing. The real question, between Rick Hendrick and Chase Elliot, is whether Chase was attempting to snowboard beyond his ability.
Harvick’s take on Elliott’s injury really resonated with me. I messed up my back for ten months after slipping on ice. I wasn’t doing any extreme sports or anything, I was walking to the bus to go to class. Stuff happens, even if you live a boring life.
Jordan Taylor is a great choice. One of the most gifted race car drivers I’ve ever seen… also think the field will be in trouble when Elliott comes back. I’ve got a feeling that he’s going to rattle off a good many wins during the summer stretch.
Well, I hope Chase will make a quick recovery and I hope Josh and Jordan will do a good job behind the wheel of the #9. On the subject of drivers who should or shouldn’t be doing activities outside of the track, I agree with Harvick and the others cuz as a driver, you should have free will to do whatever you want in your free time just like normal people who make ends meet. I bet that Chase will probably not go snowboarding for awhile after this I mean who would?
I think that people should be able to live their life. My favorite driver, Jimmie Johnson, often rode his bike and ran a lot. I think Matt Kenseth did similar things as well, or at least he also rode his bike and stuff. Also, when I was training for Cross Country and Track season back in High School, there would be runners that would also swim or ride bikes, or lift weights, usually for strength training or some other exercise that improves their fitness. If drivers think that snowboarding or skiing or driving dirt is what will make them successful since it would improve their overall fitness performance, then I don’t see how they shouldn’t be allowed to do those things.
Jordan Taylor is my favorite IMSA driver (C8R Corvette #3) so this is awesome to me! I look forward to seeing him at COTA. As a Chase fan I will actually watch at least one race now while Chase is out!
I was walking into the gym, slipped on ice, and tore through basically all the cartilage in my knee. I had to have 2 surgeries on that knee and will never be the same. Injuries can happen no matter what. Let them love their life and just realize accidents happen.
Jordan Taylor is a wheelman. That cat can drive and super excited to watch him race in cup. I have been hoping for a while that he could get a race or two in Xfinity for JRM…this is even better.
I don’t think it’s too much of a bad thing for Berry. If he’s being told to “just bring it home”, he’s on house money. Yeah he probably wants to run well, and I’m rooting for him to do well lol, but I’d rather see him actually finish and improve over time than get caught up in a wreck.

I think he will at some poor in the next 6 races.
Nice to see Josh Berry get another chance to drive the 9 car and nice to see Jordan Taylor make his debut at COTA!

Uncoordinated, unathletic Eric Estepp would disagree with you. Make sure you always walk from the couch to the kitchen wearing bubble wrap.
@santacruzer bro get off the block

Given recent leg injury recoveries from other drivers, Chase Elliot champion 2023.
@Logan LaChance I’ll be back in November to celebrate the chip yessir

I think since the Cup cars now are much more like a Sports car now, that transition will be easier for Jordan than it was Kimi.

With road courses being so important for the 9, I think bringing in a ringer is definitely a good call.
Good choices… BOTH! Glad to see Josh continue to have a chance.
