Good to see him in that car again
Nice never was born back then but that car….sexy.
Now that’s a race car.
Midnight started out as a Pontiac; Rusty actually won more races in a Pontiac, not to mention the Winston and the 1989 Championship.
Yes it did. They converted the car over and it didn’t miss a beat. Rusty won 18 races in a two year span from 1993-94. I think Midnight’s last race was the 1997 Winston.
That car was one fast hot rod, I would say that car fit Rusty’s driving style like a glove.
Would have been interesting to see that car actually race for a few laps, but I am aware of how bad of an idea that is.
It would’ve lapped the whole field.
@Kuromori came here to say that. It would be extremely dangerous because Rusty would have been blowing people’s doors off with all that HP
Stapleton42 YouTube channel has a whole video on this car for those that don’t know
Stephen did a great job on restoring the car all the way down to the replica Goodyear tires.
Stand on it Rusty make these new cars sound like woosies. I was 16 last time that car raced just got my license in 96
That’s a stock car! So much better looking than anything on the track today. These cars were painted, not wrapped, and the number looks better centered on the door. I know that NASCAR is gonna ride with the next gen car, but I still wish they would keep a little bit of tradition at least with the number placement.
Boomer
I’m not quite old enough to be part of the Baby Boomer generation. Do you not think that car looks better?
@Tommy Yancy he wont admit it
My favorite times of Rusty. I love that car.
So cool! Rusty was pumped! Great racer! Great hot rod!
legendary
An old school driver in an old school car, I like it. There were quite a few race cars from that era that are cool to look at. Earnhardt with the GM Goodwrench black and silver, Rusty in the gold and black Miller Genuine Draft colors, Davey Allison in the Texaco/Havoline black and orange colors and Kyle in the Mello Yello bright green and black colors.
“on track” = in the pitlane. Would have been nice to see it at some mild amount of speed on the track.
Personally I would have loved to have seen it as the Pontiac version because that was the first one coined midnight
big thumbs up
