After taking the week off, the NASCAR Cup Series was back for the second half of the season. There were four cautions with two big wrecks during the race, with the worst one involving Ryan Blaney who smashed into the wall during lap 147 in Stage 2. Tyler Reddick was able to get the Stage 1 victory, his third stage win of the season. Denny Hamlin grabbed his fourth stage win of the season after winning Stage 2. As the race kept rolling, Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain battled for the lead and Ross Chastain took the lead from Hamlin with 70 laps to go and never looked back. Ross Chastain secured the Ally 400 victory. It marked his third career win and his first win since Talladega in 2022.

Having the satisfaction of knowing that I didn’t waste four hours waiting NASCRAP. With the leaders 10, 12, 14, and 18 Seconds ahead, there was no race. Just following the leader. Sad.

@Chuck Hoch That isn’t true in the slightest though. Chastain takes incidents extremely well, the only one in recent memory he didn’t was the Gragson one, and Gragson was the one who initiated that by grabbing Ross
(Disclaimer, Chastains my favorite driver, so this is more what I’ve heard than what I know.) People dislike Chastain because he has a reputation of being overly aggressive on the track, while at the same time not really owning up to it post race. Every other week last year he was involved in an incident with another driver, often avoidable ones stemming from his extremely aggressive driving style(A style which probably stems from 95% of his career involving wheeling shitboxes to the best possible finishes he could get), which contrasts heavily with Chastains actual humble, soft spoken farm boy personality. Making him appear extremely two-faced to some.
No inclusion of the absolutely incredible fight between Byron, Chastain, and Truex? 3 wide for several laps. I feel like that really should’ve been included here.

Yeah, I’m a proud American from New Jersey and you are obviously asking was anyone here born in the United States. Here in the US we always refer to ourselves as Americans but I suppose technically that anyone born in North, Central or South America could refer to themselves as an American.

NASCAR is not so easy to find on tv these days and I quit trying as hard to find it. They have to be losing viewers. Glad Ross won.

Funny how they had talk about Chastain having to win a race and suddenly he does! But I’ll never be a crybaby Chastain fan and hated to see him win after his dirty driving when others got penalized!
@devilsson …awful funny when nascar sets it up for you to win. All the times he wrecked others and laughed it off, but when Larson “wrecked” him…oh how he cried. And it was his own fault but try to blame someone else

How do you not like Ross Chastain? The guy has style, integrity, he’s thankful, a great driver with a great outlook! As a fan of NASCAR I’m smiling and impressed!
