You said it best. “If am a NASCAR on FOX director/producer I am sweating bullets right now.”
Yeah having Jr and Burton on pit road when the race started was a bit flawed (you could BARELY hear them over the screaming engines), but I’d rather have a network that tries things and fails in some areas versus one that remains stagnant and bland.
Also, SAFER Barriers need to be everywhere except where pit crews jump over the wall to service the car.
NBC had terrible audio issues all race. It really took me out of the immersion into this race. I miss FOX already. Yes I know I am in the minority on this. I know FOX has problems with missing the cautions and way too many commercial breaks, but audio problems that aren’t fixed annoy me WAY MORE.
Pretty good Race. I will give NBC a B. I don’t see the point in having Jr and Burton on pit road if we can’t hear them, good test but I think a failure. In the Xfinty series, too much talk of drivers being nervous going into turn 1 on lap 1. This is NBC’s first race, not the first race of the season. The drivers didn’t look nervous at all considering they wrecked twice in under 2 green laps. I liked the through the field segments talking about the drivers days, what they are looking for in terms of changes.
I am glad you are feeling better, and I really enjoy your content. I know that NASCAR races are outdoors, but I think it was slightly irresponsible to go to an event while not feeling well and running a temperature. You also should be resting if you’re not feeling well.
Chastain was trying to turn onto pit road, just as Suarez hung a hard right to reenter the track! Supposedly to celebrate with Ross. But dude….can’t it wait until victory lane?
Gragson was trying to stay on the lead lap. He had every right to race hard and block. Ryan Newman was well known for doing this. But yeah…..being able to hold Chastain up was a bonus.
Hope Blaney is ok and makes a 100% recovery ASAP. I feel nervous for the Chicago Street Race. The drivers are used to safer barriers or tire barriers on road courses but not tight confines of a street course, especially the 90 degree corners.

First?
Second
did you REALLY have to put the name of the winner in the title?
Then watch the race
Always watch the race before you see social media.
@Nicklaus Gronas Did you ever consider the possibility I am unable to watch the race live?

Right!!! How are safer barriers not mandatory everywhere?
Pales compared to all the stupid things fox has done. Waltrips gradually, those stupid caricatures. Some of them make the Hulk look like a shrimp.

How long did it take for you to think of audio to complain about?

personally, the race was mid it was only good on restarts. NBC made the mid fest seem interesting by giving us actual commentary
