Jesus Christ, I hope he’s ok
One of the Toughest corner of the course
Holy crap I hope he is ok
Yes He’s Fine.
Hope Chase is ok. No excuse to have no SAFER barriers at this damn track, especially with the concussion mobiles
He’s fine
Relax. Theyre not smoking walls at 160. No doubt its a hard shot, but its street course racing. He hit at maybe 60 id guess. Theyre averaging 88-89mph laps and peaking at about 140, and theyres tire barriers in those corners
Learn your stuff dude before you spew nonsense. These are NOT concrete walls – they are concrete blocks. In other words, they are not anchored. They move as any SAFER barrier would.
@Skutahuniai Still concrete, so the impact is not cushioned very much. Learn your stuff dude
We’ve seen on a lot of front crashes where the driver’s head flies forward
Playing it in slo-mo, Elliott’s head didn’t jerk forward much if at all. That is nice to see
But his head did move so we still need to work on that
The movement isn’t the dangerous part. It’s movement followed by a sudden deceleration. Like what happened to kurt, bowman and gragson. They all hit backwards and hit the back of the seat and that caused the injuries. But even if you completely eliminated the movement on the head, the brain still moves inside.
This is gonna be a 60% caution lap race. Checking my phone every 10-15 minutes for clips just one wreck after another
My prediction, 1st lap 1st corner The front 20 get wiped out and then we spend the rest of the race talking about someone 35th in points could win after 25 caution flags
If xfinity can handle it cup can
I love cota way better its a tough circuit but you can actually race on it and have room to do things i think long beach would’ve been maybe a better place than this narrow track
Hope he’s okay
this so far is awsome I love this Nascar need come back next year this good stuff
I like your sarcasim.
@Richard Rice I like street and road courses
@Beautiful Angel Blossom so I gathered. If you like them so much you’d know this course is a joke.
These guys have not had enough time on this course. At least 2-3 days to let then get acquainted. Just my opinion.
Yeah na, consider SVG hadn’t raced the course either, day 2 in a Nascar, steering wheel on the opposite side of the car then puts it on row 2. Yes he has done heaps of road courses and street circuits (138 starts for 47 wins and 79 podiums but still has a lot to learn about the car.
This is not going to a good weekend for a lot of drivers.
I think we’ve seen the best of Elliot. He caught a great break in 2020, but it’s just never been that great since. I think HMS will be okay, but man, he’s got to be frustrated.
I have to disagree with that I think the best of him is yet to come and that he will achieve more I just don’t think it will be with Gustafson on the pit box…
@James Zeiglerthat’s what I’m thinking.
These takes are always funny to read because they immediately turn out to be cold takes within a few weeks. Not even a chase fan but people think they are geniuses commenting stuff like this when someone is in a slump. You probably thought Truex was at his best in 2013 with MWR.
He had the most wins last year. He’s one bad season this season and that’s a wrap? People are too quick to dismiss
@Elliottfan1993 Well season is far from over…
What could possibly go wrong with very limited practice on a circuit nobody has ever raced. They are tearing up cars quick, just don’t want to see anyone get hurt, but this course is a joke in my opinion.
These teams and drivers look completely unprepared for this.
Hamlin will win because of Jordan. Just the kind of story nascar likes to arrange
Hamlin does not drive for Jordan. Had you said Bubba or Riddick, you might have made some sort of sense. Obviously you do not have a clue.
This race will rival IndyCar’s Music City Grand Prix on chaos and clown show levels
Nashville Street Course is lit, I don’t care what anyone says.
As a British guy who has never been to the US, and has been dreaming of seeing a Nascar race my whole life, I will say this. You couln’t pay me to watch Nascar on a street circuit, what bullshit! There are a 1000 and one race series that race around boring fenced in street circuits, we dont need another!! Nascar rule makers are loosing the plot!
You just nailed it. Literally every driver in every other series around the world has expressed their dislike for street circuits at one point or another. Yet nascar decides they need one. Just stupidity.
As an American I say you do not have a clue, the Xfinity race was going very well on Saturday.
Everyone calling this whole weekend a disaster just dislike anything but oval racing. The only incidents were caused by driver error and have not resulted in injury or broken walls, the racing has been good, and NASCAR has done a great job at making a good street circuit. I’m super excited for the racing tomorrow and the races in Chi Town next year.
