That’s ridiculous, it’s a lake by the lake.

They can race in this. COTA and the ROVAL was worse than this

Did you see the size of those puddle’s?
They cannot race in this.

Demonracer2 July 2, 2023 at 4:22 pm

Clearly you don’t remember what happened at COTA or the driver that was killed yesterday in a different series In similar conditions

Montreal had worse than both of them

There’s a big difference between racing at a speedway or a race track and racing on actual streets millions of people drive on every year. I was just on that part of the track on Michigan ave last week driving to the city. It’s got pot holes, and is just normal concrete you’d see on any street.

If you look out my window now, you’d see standing water from one curb to the next. I couldn’t ride a bike through it… Maybe TV doesnt do it justice. There’s up to 8 inches of standing water on the street! No way anyone could race on that.

WOOOOOOOOOOW A ROAD COURSE THEY CAN’T RACE IN THE RAIN REALLY NASCAR?!

Reply

Rain tires can only do so much. If the standing water is deep enough, the tire will hydroplane regardless. This isn’t a unique NASCAR problem, F1 and the WEC have both had to cancel or delay races due to standing water (2022 Japan for F1, 2013 Japan for WEC).

They can race in rain
Just not standing water like EVERY OTHER RACING SERIES. Indy car f1 lemans super car. They can race in rain not standing water not when there’s lightning strikes.

Did you see these kids yesterday, they couldn’t even race it in the dry.

Wil Bane July 2, 2023 at 5:33 pm

Are they still going to race

Reply
Jeff July 2, 2023 at 4:29 pm

Total waste of time and money. Keep it on actual race tracks.

4pm to 8pm will be a BETTER TIME FOR NASCAR BECAUSE THE RAIN WILL STOP AT THOSE TIMES

Reply
Allen Knott July 2, 2023 at 4:53 pm

Do they not have rain tires? Nascar is dropping the ball, here.

Reply
Andre Pardo July 2, 2023 at 5:00 pm

They have wet weather tires, not flood tires

Reply
Annel Cespedes July 2, 2023 at 5:17 pm

It’s supposed to keep raining until about 4:30, I don’t think we’re getting either race in today tbh. With that, what exactly will nascar do if they can’t get it in today? I don’t think Chicago will allow this area to be closed off for 1 more day considering they didn’t start prepping the track until Saturday morning
