“City protocol for public safety” means that they ran out of time. Either they run the cup race or it will be like IndyCar at Texas a few years ago.

Xfinity is still racing at Road America, while cup is racing at Richmond on that same weekend.
Same!!! I’ve never wanted something I enjoy to fail so bad. Road america for this was just completely stupid and they deserve to have it blow up in their face.

I think another reason why they ended it was because they did not want to interfere with the IndyCar race at Mid Ohio
THE #1 reason. TV controls, and rules all of American motorsports times.
More likely because the town probably had to have the race done by today because of the regulations and stuff they have with Chicago (people have work on Monday so they wouldn’t be able to get to their jobs if major roads are being blocked for the race).

@noUGames well that’s bull sh*t. I think they oughta give that facility about 45 southwest of Chicago a whirl. It’s perfect, it’s round, it’s got lights, a garage area, plenty of parking. you’d almost think it was built for racing.

Nascar literally had no choice. This is a street circuit, in a major city. Therefore, they have to be out by a certain time so the track can be dismantled for Monday’s normal routine.
Permanent tracks don’t have this problem obviously. Temporary ones…
