Atlanta better than daytona is bold, however if this race finished it probably would’ve been the best all year.
I absolutely CANNOT remember the last time Atlanta had me on the edge of my seat.
2001
You must have not been watching since the repave I’ve been to 3 out of 4 they all had me to the edge of my seat because the cars were not getting so far spread out like they were in 2021
Did you not watch the last race before the repave? Kurt vs Kyle?
2011
Mid-2000’s were great plus Jimmie vs Jeff in 2011
Shoutout to J.J. Yeley for finishing inside the Top 10, and running inside the Top 5 in RWR equipment, to get his first Top 10 finish in 10 years and 5 months since the 2013 Daytona 500!
Even more impressive wasn’t that he was running inside the top 5, but that when he was bumped out, he didn’t fall back like he does, but he actually fought for that top 5 spot back! Fantastic showing!
I thought yeley got a top 10 at Talladega earlier this year
@wicham Got 11th after NASCAR went back to check for official results. That was painful to watch him go from 8th to 11th
@7ty7 ah, thanks. still pretty good tho eh?
If Jenson didn’t spin coming to pit road at Chicago and had a better race overall we could have had a 2 consecutive RWR top 10 finishes
JJ yeley in the RWR car got a 7th place finish… best finish for him in 15 years!
10 years. 2013 Daytona 500.
GIVE THAT MAN A FEW RACES IN THE 51 FOR KBM HE WOULD WIN, MARK MY WORDS MOST UNDERRATED DRIVER IN NASCAR
This race was the best race of the year imp despite the poor finish. It had some of the best racing from superspeedways ive ever seen. Probably all the way back to 2019 package
Might just be the greatest rain shortened race of all time
2021 package was my favorite superspeedway package
I think Jeff Burton called it correctly when he said that this version of Atlanta is reminiscent of the late 90’s, early 00’s era Daytona. Great racing tonight!
Yeah, that was the best superspeedway race I’ve seen in a long time.
FRM needs to keep Zane And Michael if they need three fulltime cars next year then go for it.
Michael’s a free agent like he is every year. Zane is only one that’s ever gotten a long-term contract and not a 1 year deal
The drivers just need the ever present threat of rain… haha.
I’m so glad i was there in person!!Such a unique brand of pack racing. Guys were able to push on the straights, then it was a free for fall in the turns. It was basically every man for himself, which is a refresher from the manufacturer/team trains that form at Talladega and Daytona. There was action on every lap and it was incredible. Shame it was rain shortened but what a show
Overall this race is pretty good. It was fun while it lasted due to rain, but I can see why it had to end. Congrats to William Byron for getting his 4th win along with some great finishes with various drivers like JJ Yeley in the top 10!
Hey, Atlanta’s finally starting to look good again! Shame about the weather, but hey, I’m willing to let it slide, especially since it gives us more to savor next time!
This was my second ever race I attended and it was a phenomenal event! As a Bowman fan I was a little frustrated with the poor finish despite him looking like he had race winning speed but I thoroughly enjoyed the race. Sitting in the grandstands truly was the best seat, and I’m glad I got to such such great racing!
I was on the edge of my seat the entire race & I know I’m not the only one. They are doing something right with that track and package fr
That race was insane and it was a interesting race to watch
Eric Estepp needs to rank all the NASCAR teams based on drivers talent and speed
Kenseth is the GOAT
I’ve said new atlanta was a killer track since the start, the old school purists and the rest of you didn’t believe me. I saw “night race” on the schedule and was ready to buy my ticket until my fiancé ended up pregnant and we had to stay home. THIS IS THE RECIPE YALL. NEW FAVORITE TRACK RIGHT HERE.
Massive W for you man congrats
@Craig Stephenson hey, thank you!
Sorry to hear that, who’s the father?
Absolutely gutted for Brad, mans had a bad fast race car only for it to go to waste cus of the weather
Luck may be part of why Byron won, but it was not why he won. Dude is a wheelman, I was watching his dashcam all night. He absolutely deserved it just as much as anyone else up at front. Everyone knew the weather was coming, and he put himself in P1 from P4 and defended it successfully until the end. And the penatly / his spin does not include the other 2 wreck avoidances he had. More skill than luck went into the victory, but because he’s an HMS boy everyone is just taking it for face value. A year ago everyone was making fun of him for his summer slump, well look at him now. 4 wins, top of the leader boards, and I smile at every keyboard warrior I see throwing a tantrum. I’ve been a fan of his for a long long time, and I’m excited to finally be in this moment.
