The NASCAR schedule rumors are heating up at a rapid rate and while nothing too official has been announced I think we can look at what rumors have gone flying. These include the return of old track, old races, as well as the entrance back into a formerly raced country that may start the major international push that they desperately want to grow. So let's look at this all and see what you all may be interested in for NASCAR. What will the 2024 NASCAR schedule look like?

I just want Homestead to be the finale, but we already know that’s not happening 🙁

For autoclub to return already and have nascar not use the oval for commercials constantly instead of actually working on it

If Texas gets reconfigured, I would wanted to go back to the old layout. It had some really good racing and it was a multi groove track

Reply
chase Elliot is cool July 11, 2023 at 11:05 pm

That was with high horsepower I would rather just leave Texas al together

Reply
Ian Perry July 11, 2023 at 11:40 pm

Good chance it’s going to be a super speedway unfortunately

Plot twist: they reconfigured to Texas World Speedway

Reply
Robert Lynn July 12, 2023 at 12:01 am

I Hope Texas Motor Speedway reconfiguration become 28 Banking Turn 1-4 become Texas Superspeedway just like Atlanta

Casey smith July 12, 2023 at 12:09 am

I would like see that they go with an exact to the tech, mile speedway from the lowest grove, just shorten the track as it sits.

The main argument against Rockingham I’ve seen is the oversaturation of the area. Bristol losing its Spring date solves that problem.

chase Elliot is cool July 11, 2023 at 11:21 pm

In my opinion if we should remove any short track it should be Richmond bring back Bristols spring race and bring back the rock

Reply
Craig Stephenson July 12, 2023 at 12:29 am

@chase Elliot is coolthe problem is Bristol spring race has really bad attendance figures and TV ratings. Worse than Richmond despite being a fan favorite track.

Reply
chase Elliot is cool July 12, 2023 at 12:40 am

@Craig Stephenson that could just be due to its position in the three waay short track part of the schedule which should be split

Reply
Craig Stephenson July 12, 2023 at 12:44 am

@chase Elliot is cool yeah and maybe because the night race is so prestigious

Going Canadian is gonna be beautiful for NASCAR cup series racing

North Wilkesboro will totally be in 2024 schedule

Reply
BigMattXXL July 11, 2023 at 11:16 pm

I still think they should make the Southern 500 at Darlington as the season finale. And, I think that if Nascar can’t get to Montreal, then they should try going to Canadian Tire instead.

SuperNASCARrocks July 11, 2023 at 11:21 pm

I have no idea. Hopefully it’s a good schedule. I’m hoping Rockingham can come back as well as a North Wilksboro return. Not just a one off like the All Star race this year.

Reply
John Haas July 11, 2023 at 11:42 pm

You’re not going to get Rockingham

Reply
Arend Rollo July 12, 2023 at 12:51 am

What if we got Rockingham and North Wilkesborough on rotation? Rockingham in even years and NW on odd?

Could be good at keeping the schedule open, flexible, and without putting too many races on the calendar in the same area.

The passport thing doesn’t shock me as someone who works in travel. Even if an international race is 2-5 years out the passports are good for 10 years. Crew that already have passports are very likely to renew so they are a non-issue. The ones that have never got one have a swift kick in the rear of encouragement to get theirs and they don’t have to worry if a bunch of crew dragged their feet to submit and are now waiting to the last minute hoping their passport is issued before a race date.

As a New Englander, getting Montreal on the Cup schedule would be like getting a second New Hampshire date back, and then some.

Reply
Mark Little July 12, 2023 at 1:15 am

And meanwhile all of us in Southern Ontario want Mosport/CTMP. It isn’t that much further for ya. That said, they seem bent on Montreal

Reply
Andrew Meyer July 12, 2023 at 4:08 am

@Mark LittleI think it’s because Circuit Gilles Villenueve is in the heart of Montréal, and NASCAR wants to be integrated more into large cities, while CTMP is off the beaten path a ways from Toronto, and almost all of their racetracks (especially road courses) are like that

I hope if Texas get reconfigured it’s the old layout not the superspeedway. Superspeedway reconfiguration would essentially boot out Indycar from the track. As Indycar would be going to fast and the sustained G-forces would be dangerous on that type of a configuration.

As someone who likes both NASCAR and Indycar, I wouldn’t want Indycar to lose one of their oval races (Indycar actually had a fantastic race at Texas this year).

Reply
S.KullRandom July 12, 2023 at 4:55 am

Texas will always be the worst track. No amount of reconfiguration can save it. They should just demolish it at this point

Reply
Eggselent 98 July 12, 2023 at 12:59 pm

@S.KullRandom Its actually been a pretty solid indyCar track in the last few years

Reply
Chris Harder July 12, 2023 at 12:30 am

I definitely don’t think Dover is getting cut, they were advertising renewals at the track this year and via email. I wish they would move the race to June or the fall though

Reply
Joel Garcia July 12, 2023 at 2:22 am

I think they hire a meteorologist to help them out with the schedule so they could avoid getting rained out every week, especially considering what happened in Chicago, Atlanta, and based on the forecast New Hampshire.

There should definitely be a cup race somewhere in the Pacific
Northwest whether that be Seattle or Portland international raceway. Both xfinity races at Portland turned out great and the fan support was there.

MaverickTheRambler July 12, 2023 at 8:22 am

I’d love to see Road Atlanta and Sebring added. NASCAR owns both tracks. Both tracks are also well known internationally. I’m honestly surprised NASCAR hasn’t held Cup Series races there yet

JonnyInstinct93 July 12, 2023 at 1:43 pm

Would LOVE them to come to CTMP (Mosport) instead of Montreal. More of an high school road course. The Truck Series that was there for a bit had amazing races and mad finishes.

Reply
Trenton Seibold July 12, 2023 at 5:13 pm

If they bring the brickyard back I would 100% go to it, I’m sure it would draw a better crowd than the road course

I actually think that the Nashville Fairgrounds would probably replace the Bristol Dirt Race. I was at the Bristol Dirt Race or another race date, and I heard a little bit from Marcus Smith that intrigued me. He said they were making good progress towards restoring it and getting it on the schedule. So, maybe not replacing Bristol Dirt, but definitely returning to Cup in the next 5 years.
