I think Trackhouse can now afford a third charter with the Busch sponsorship
Should be interesting

Ryan Morrison July 16, 2023 at 8:15 pm

Who’s looking to lease or sell a charter right now? They haven’t changed hands in over two years now. No team is going to expand anytime soon.

@Ryan Morrison the 77 should and they should focus more on the 7 car

Reply
jabber1990 July 16, 2023 at 8:20 pm

@nascar guy and corn dog if they are going to run 2 cars, the 7 should be their focus, and the 77 is a ride buyer/one-off

use the extra income from the 77 to become Hendricks 23XI

Ashen Wolf July 16, 2023 at 8:34 pm

@Ryan Morrison I don’t think they actually will, but I think it would be a good idea for SHR to sell a charter and go down to a 3 car team if this does end up being Almirola’s last year, opening up a charter for 23XI or Trackhouse. Given that they’ll no longer have a once-in-a-lifetime talent like Harvick next year and their performance has been awful even with very talented drivers, it would be a good idea for SHR to downsize and work towards better quality cars.

It would be awesome if an unchartered car made the playoffs. Remember when skill and equipment was enough?

@Diecast Emporium that would work too.

@Diecast Emporiumthere’s a reason Austin is in the 2 car instead of the 21 as planned and someone else didn’t get hired to replace Brad aka daddy

Everyone is all Gaga about SVG, but it’s still to be seen how he will perform on ovals and superspeedways. Both are a totally different skill set from what he is known for. Marcus Ambrose anyone?

SVG races dirt ovals in a sprint car.

David Guenthner July 16, 2023 at 8:24 pm

With the amount of right-hand turns in a season now, that might not be enough not to sign a driver.

I think we’re going to see the 78 ally with another team and run a development driver part time or full time.

Not sure about that

Reply
Croix Wheeler July 16, 2023 at 8:34 pm

Far fetched but considering last year with their out-of-the-blue aquisition of Kyle, what about RCR? I mean yea that team would need to get a charter but I wouldn’t rule it out.

Why ,because he got lucky on a Street course that had the least amount of passing Ever in a Nascar Race ???? So he should skip** all the truck series drivers. And Xfinity series American drivers , and he should get paid about 3 to 5 million per season. BECAUSE he won a race that got shortened by light, and rain. And alot of the Best drivers were stuck in the back where YOU COULD NOT PASS. ??? SO HE gets to jump all our American drivers that its been there Life Goal , and prayers, to Become a Cup series driver. , amd make Good Money , so they don’t have to work a 9 to 5 job , after they turn 35 to 40, , please understand the Seriousness of this Very important, comment. I Literally Spot on this hole Video, Eric has made a bad decision to make this video, there are now drivers and family members that want to know his level of clearance to be able to talk to Owners amd Talk Real Business and release it out , and Tell or Spit In all the Nascar lower series drivers they pretty much should give up on there dreams , ???? Seriously think about this video, its Not OK. AT All, ,

Eric, I give you credit. As soon as the race in Chicago was over, you said some team has to sign him for next year with all the road courses on the schedule. an off the wall spot, instead of selling the charter, I could see is rick ware racing, with stewart haas help, like the races that custer is running with them this year.

Call me crazy but when Kyle Busch announced he would be joining RCR, RC said they would have a 3rd charter for Tyler Reddick . That maybe smokescreen or deflection but Kyle and Shane did have conversations in Chicago. Not about joining the team but just racing… but maybe there was validity in that 3rd charter.. just a thought

Reply
Davy Crocker July 17, 2023 at 2:29 am

RC said he would have a 3rd CAR, never said anything about a charter.

Reply
mike adams July 17, 2023 at 2:48 am

RC also fired Reddick as soon as he found out Reddick going to another team.

Reply
y0ur Cobra July 17, 2023 at 2:50 am

@davycrocker4842 hey Dave thx for a reply…like I said it’s probably all smoke and mirrors but if you have time and go watch the press conference from 10 months ago about 15:55 into the video RC specifically said they would field 3 charters..again it was just a thought appreciate you

I think trackhouse signs SVG.

Also SVG does sprint cars down under as well. He has an understanding of ovals

Reply
Broady Taylor July 17, 2023 at 12:14 am

Depends if there is room at Trackhouse for him. There is room however at Stewart Haas if Almirola’s Smithfield money isn’t needed

Reply
GameZ July 16, 2023 at 11:09 pm

either Trackhouse is gonna setup a 3rd ride full time/give him the 91 for a single full season for SVG, or SHR might try to snag him so they can atleast have an easy breath at road courses

Reply
rscamarolover July 17, 2023 at 4:09 am

If Trackhouse can get enough sponsorship they might hire SVG full time in a different car # or team and stll run project 91 aside was intended all along. But I think they will make a deal with SVG to run a couple more races this year and a limited amount next and then come full time in 2025 in a 3rd trackhouse car but they would still have project 91 as part time. Justin did say as of now the ride is SVG’s as long as he wants it I assume still part time for the near future

The bottom Charter owners have been playing musical charters since the charter system came in. There is a loophole that allows them to trade them around to keep the bottom 3 rules off their back.
