based on larry mac’s trends, chase elliott is him when the cup series heads to watkins glen

Kyle Larson unfortunately says otherwise

@tannermattey both of larsons glen wins.
2021: Elliott has car to beat but had to go to the back
2022: slams Elliott off track on a late restart

@Jeffppl forget how good his 2021 car was, he had to make a unscheduled pit stop under green and still finished 2nd, iirc his best lap was a few tenths faster the anyone else

Tanner Mattey July 19, 2023 at 11:23 pm

@JeffIk I was rooting for him both times

SVG, Kostecki, Kobayashi, and Button all at Indy RC! Watkins Glen or BUST for Chase Elliott.

Reply
Jake Dodson July 19, 2023 at 11:25 pm

None will win

Reply
NR88 July 20, 2023 at 12:13 am

With all due respect, Button and Kobayashi wont do anything. Least compared to the first two

I think SVG will struggle more at Indy. Not a street course and much different set-up realistically. Yes there are slow tight turns, but that is not as technical as Chicago street course.

Apparently Denny Hamlin will ‘hold hands” with Chase Elliott Nation.

Yeah, that was surprise.

I’m crossing my fingers for Chase to make the playoffs but my gut says he’ll miss it

It’s Glen or bust.
And Larson has been a showman there recently.

Reply
Craig Stephenson July 19, 2023 at 11:38 pm

@TheBig4Fan07I don’t think Larson will bump him out of the way this year

Reply
Easy E Network July 20, 2023 at 12:42 am

@Craig StephensonAnd I am not sure if Larson has the road course speed this year, though he has great short track speed this year.

Reply
Gage Brumley July 20, 2023 at 2:55 am

@TheBig4Fan07the 9 team can’t put all their eggs in the Watkins Glen basket.

They need to take advantage and try to win every week.

Daniel Chai July 20, 2023 at 4:37 am

Alan is gonna have to figure it out and get close to the speed the 24 and 5 usually have. Chase has been dragging god awful cars to good finishes but that alone won’t be enough. It can absolutely happen but it could also not happen.

I feel like McDowell should also be a 7, and idk if I or you missed it but we have Daytona coming up, site of McDowell’s only cup win in the 500.
I suppose Pocono could also be a mention since its a “superspeedway” even if not really a typical superspeedway.

Reply
JRK July 20, 2023 at 3:59 am

It helps that of the remaining 5/6 tracks he’s typically running Top 10 (exception being Michigan)

Reply
Tyler Speer July 19, 2023 at 11:27 pm

Pocono, Richmond, and Daytona are the tracks that I’m keeping my eyes on for Bowman to win. If we don’t make it in this season, I won’t be to upset, but I would be disappointed. I would look at Chicago and Atlanta for the reason he would not make it in as he was going to finish 10-15 range at Chicago and he could of won Atlanta or finish 5-15 range. The points penalty and the injury also played a factor, but he was still in position to make it in.

Rylan Niese July 20, 2023 at 1:09 am

Honestly Michigan isn’t a bad track for him

John Shorts III July 20, 2023 at 2:11 am

Nascar doesn’t like bowman the higher ups got rid of Chicagoland, changed the 550 package bowman was dominant in almost beating harvick at Darlington multiple times and as well as changing Cali to a short track.

Reply
StealingStar July 20, 2023 at 3:20 am

@John Shorts IIIthis is a dumb take considering he has just about the only full season sponsorship in the sport. Why would the higher ups want to constantly screw over the guy with possibly the biggest and most recently involved sponsor?

Reply
John Shorts III July 20, 2023 at 3:24 am

@StealingStar what are you talking about sarcastic aren’t you as well, dude is not a start could be but doesn’t shine right he like the RC cola in the coke family and ima bowman fan .

If Alex can stop going/being put sideways I feel good about him being in.

Reply
Hidden Jocelyn July 20, 2023 at 12:21 am

Nope, they have been terrible even from a speed perspective. There’s no winning speed in that car whatsoever, and even if they have a decent finish they were still running in 15-25th place, so they weren’t getting stage points. That team is cooked.

inFenity July 20, 2023 at 12:25 am

@Hidden Jocelyn It’s okay, even the stupid comments are allowed to exist on this site. I see you 🙂

Reply
John Shorts III July 20, 2023 at 2:14 am

@inFenityima bowman fan die hard but gotta agree with inFenity dude hasn’t had winning speed like at all except Daytona 500 poles and he has to get better at plate racing but other then that there may been like a race I seen Alex go forward think was Vegas on the long run but yea constantly gets beat by Larson Byron and one legged Elliot

Reply
inFenity July 20, 2023 at 2:38 am

@John Shorts III He was constantly going forward in multiple races since he’s come back, he’s had some awful luck. Trans died in overtime at Gateway, he got collected by Busch in the wreck with the 6 in Nashville, he was dumped by Hamlin in Chicago, he got loose in Atlanta after a great run, and he got hit by Gibbs at NH. Winning is a good way to get into the playoffs, and he’s got some good tracks coming up. he was fast in Atlanta. But if he would stop getting unlucky, there’s probably 50 points between the incidents I named left on the table. Don’t act like he doesn’t have speed, most if not all of these runs would be top 10.

John Shorts III July 20, 2023 at 5:09 am

@inFenity I meant I agree with hidden , bowman hasn’t made 2nd round or quallly in like years and I’m his biggest fan but a realest Brutha . Dude gets outran regardless off getting hit or bumped

SpheredHawk67 July 19, 2023 at 11:56 pm

I want McDowell to point his way in. Because if he does, it will be one of the greatest moments this season. Just to say a, at best, C-Tier team outpointed a Hendrick car, a JGR car, a Team Penske car, and 3 of SHR’s cars.

Reply
JRK July 20, 2023 at 4:15 am

It’s the parity we wanted

The field filler is now attempting to fill a playoff spot via points, just surreal

Reply
Paul Day July 20, 2023 at 12:06 am

It seems like Bowman’s biggest problem is finishing races off. He’s had multiple good points days ruined by major trouble in the last 10% of the race. If Chase Elliott makes the playoffs on points, with 7 fewer starts, that will be a huge black eye for any team that doesn’t get in. How can you start with that big of an advantage and not get the job done?

Reply
Easy E Network July 20, 2023 at 12:44 am

Shows how consistent Chase is even with slower cars.

Media Madness July 20, 2023 at 4:27 am

I think Bowman is suffering from the Karma of having Pride colors nonsense on his hood at Sonoma.
I thought NASCAR was the last safe sport not to support that crap that most people don’t.
Just lost a ton of respect for Rick Hendrick to go along with Ally to allow that.
I was at the race and Ì wasn’t the only one not happy.
This stuff is ruining our country and not bringing it together.

Chase and Alex need to start going for wins and not rely on points

Reply
Bload72 Productions July 20, 2023 at 2:35 pm

They’re Hendrick Motorsports, Rick has said they go for wins no matter what every week.

Zac July 20, 2023 at 12:29 am

Aj’s bad result at COTA was cuz he got Chastained as well, even if he doesnt win itll be a nice points day. The problem is i see more new winners are coming.

Reply
Meep July 20, 2023 at 1:29 am

Let’s not forget, if not for the 75 point penalty to both Byron and Bowman, Bowman is still about 20 to the good. Thats just how good they’ve been.

Tweedler July 20, 2023 at 2:08 am

I think Suárez has had winning equipment and a decent chance at a win every week since St. Louis. I’m rooting for him to make the cut!

Reply
Xavier Juno July 20, 2023 at 8:13 am

Ya he just needs that one win to lock himself in

Reply
dakotafire24 July 20, 2023 at 2:30 am

i feel like hendrick is going to put max effort behind Chase at walkens glenn to get a win, something similiar is probably Bowmans best chance at whatever his best upcoming track is

Reply
Kevin Perry July 20, 2023 at 2:47 am

Daytona is still an option for chase I think he’s like a top 8 super speedway racer

Reply
Gage Brumley July 20, 2023 at 2:57 am

I think the no cautions at road courses might be a huge help to Chase. Hopefully he can qualify well and get out to a lead on those tracks. Last year he lost Watkins Glen and the Roval because of restart shenanigans

Reply
Andrew Waring July 20, 2023 at 5:53 am

I don’t know if I can say Chase has been running really well. I’d say he’s been finishing really well, but you Gotta make the most of those stage points.

McDowell is a perfect dark horse pick. Him and Gilliand seem to do the best at skill based tracks, really hoping he pulls off the upset
