Kaulig either fumbled the bag or Haley made the worst decision ever
Or they are opening up a space for SVG.
Haley moving from Kaulig to RWR is a downgrade, but at the same time, this could potentially open the door for SVG to take that 31 ride at Kaulig next season.
@Themba Njoko maybe Haley is trying to move to the 6 car once Brad Retires? That may be the main reason.
@makedragon Yeah I think so, hence his move to RWR, or maybe RFK expands and buys a 3rd charter, most likely the RWR 51 team.
He has a win . So he brings that to them
Brad Keselowski better be giving a LOT of support to RWR or they will be straight up wasting Justin Haley.
If I was Justin Haley basically the only way I’d take this deal is if I was promised the 6 car once Brad retires
@Craig Stephensongood thinking
@craigstephenson7676, I think brad wants one of the FRM boys first. He will probably get Gilliland. Haley would be good though in RFK. It’s possible they expand to more cars again and their relationship with RWR may let them get some charters because 23xi and trackhouse both want to expand and JRM wants to go to cup. It RFK eating RWR may be the only way they get charters
@connorbingel7134 Exactly, I think Haley move to RWR, could be RFK expanding to a 3 car operation, potentially buying up RWR’s 51 charter.
Brad Keslowski knows what he’s doing
Honestly I could actually see something forming from this RWR has been getting a lot better
I was honestly very shocked. It shows how unpredictable silly season is
Yeah return to the weird I thought this is going to be quiet quite silly season most of the big names is already signed sealed delivered already this year so
Maybe a way to take Keselowski’s spot?
@Justin Hutchison he not going anywhere
Hot take: kaulig sells 31 charter to trackhouse for 91 so SVG can go full time
This ^^^
Or Kaulig signs SVG
@GHI think this is more likely
That what I said too!
That was unexpected. I thought Justin Haley would stick around with Kaulig Racing
I don’t think I’ve ever been more surprised by a silly season move in Nascar. Haley deserves better, he’s been a very solid driver. There is no way Haley willingly left Kailug for RWR. Kailug better not be doing this to make room for SVG. SVG is cool and I want to see him in cup, but he is going to struggle on ovals. F Kailug, they are no longer lovable underdogs. That move Haley made at Atlanta is more understandable now.
@mimimi because he’s driving for a brand new cup team lol. Do some research before making a stupid comment.
I get the feeling it might be Brodie they’re making room for, not Shane.
Haley has really:
– Finished P2 at Chicago.
– Left his teammate out to dry at Atlanta.
– Leaves Kaulig, a solid team that has helped him grow for RWR, the 2nd worst team on the grid.
All in the span of 18 days. I’m not sure if he sees somthing in RWR that we don’t, because this is just *WILD.*
I mean who knows, anything is possible in day and age. This could be another Fernando Alonso situation
I think Kaulig could potentially sign SVG next season to drive the 31.
Clearly they wanted him out of the seat. He would’ve stayed if he could
So the 31 charter is co owned by the Haleys, he’s essentially the 3rd car after Smith came aboard. Its honestly a decent jump if he can be the #1 car for the team. There will be growing pains, but Hell look at the past few finishes the 15 has had recently, they’ve got a shot to possibly pull something off
2nd worst team? You’re saying SHR is worse than RICK WARE?!
I mean, SHR is bad this year, but they’re not THAT bad.
SVG getting the ride of the guy who he beat at Chicago would be the funniest driver replacement ever
I’m a little speechless on that. Kinda like going from a Hellcat to a V6 Challenger
More like going from a Hellcat to a Dodge Stratus.
Hellcat to 4 cylinder mustang
hellcat to 3 cylinder geo metro
Ferrari to a Renault Twingo.
Or Rolex to a Casio watch………You know wath i mean right?.
Hellcat to a 2 stroke go cart with 2 flat tires, one dryrotted, and the other with 80 psi, one of the strokes is that of an 86 year old man taking viagra, and a throttle made up of a string tied to the big toe of the driver..
I believe that Justin Haley is a step ahead. Dale Jr has be calling him a future championship contender recently, so he must know something that we don’t. With the RFK-RWR alliance, maybe RFK expands with Haley and a third charter. Maybe Haley replaces Brad after he retires. There must be a future plan in place here.
Thats what I was thinking
I wonder if this was a plan to groom Haley to replace Brad when he retires.
This is a big W for RWR. They have never had a young talent like Haley. And for a team like them, I think getting young guys with potential is how they can climb up the Cup ranks.
I mean look at the wood brothers and Ryan Blaney
I feel like RWR doesn’t need someone like Haley but rather someone who is a wiley vet. Logano would be perfect if they could get their hands on him but I don’t see it ever happening.
As a big Kaulig Racing fan I was shocked by this news. I hope this means we have a big name coming into the 31 ride because I was expecting Chandler to take AJ’s place in another year after more experience but who knows at this point. Hope all the best for Justin at RWR but I really hope for Kaulig this is because They have someone big lined up to take his ride.
In the long run I could see Rick ware and RFK merge. That would probably be the easiest way for Brad to accommodate two two extra charters he needs for his extension plan. And depending on how strong this alliance is. That could very easily happen in the future.
roush fenway keselowski ware racing
@calamari it just one merge after another. First it was brad keselowski and roush. And now it could very likely be RFK and RWR.
RFKR racing?
@Existing in a space yes.
Haley’s only 23 years old(younger than Zane Smith). This isn’t a move for just 2024 but for a better future. Brad isn’t going to race forever and I’d imagine there’s an understanding that Haley will be the first candidate to takeover for either Brad or Buescher if either see a decline in the near future. Kaulig dragged their feet in locking Haley up and if anyone’s a loser in this whole deal its Kaulig not Haley.
You sir, are a visionary. Thank you for making this move make sense. Remind me to come to you the next time I need help seeing the big picture lol.
I feel like Brad has at least a few years left in him, and honestly, he might have one final championship caliber season in him.
Assuming this was Haleys choice, this is most likely career suicide.
Unless there is a huge new sponsor for the full season like Napa or Ally this is a horrible decision.
of course, this is assuming Haley left on purpose, kaulig could have just replaced or even let him go.
and the 31 charter situation makes this all the more interesting
RWR needed a full time driver for the 51, and their stock isn’t high enough in the garage to poach an A-lost talent. Haley has been on a tear lately, and that makes him an attractive prospect. My gut says there’s a piece here that weren’t not seeing, though. Something happened behind the scenes that made Haley want to jump ship.
I was at Gateway when Justin won his first ever truck race. And I’ve been a fan ever since. I hope he does great things and sees something in RWR that we don’t.
Haley will officially be the first full time Rick Ware driver that’s actually won a Cup race
