Denny Hamlin Is Awesome
I loved the race, and it was a great race all around. But I was utterly disappointed with the ending. It was a very shady and dirty move. However, that seems to be Denny’s MO. He pulled that crap last year also, and then on top of that, he shows no humility or remorse for what HE did. He was good side-by-side, and the original move was excellent. There is nothing wrong with pushing someone higher on the track to get an advantage; that is fantastic racing. But then, intentionally putting someone into the wall with a “pit maneuver” just because you are afraid you will lose, my friend, is a coward’s move. If you are as good a racer as you think, which don’t get me wrong, I believe Denny is an incredible driver, very skilled and talented; then you shouldn’t have to resort to such underhanded tactics. You just took the honor and respected away from what would have been a great win, no matter who took it. Then, to say in his interview, “They can boo my rock all they want.” Smiling when saying it is disrespectful and brings shame and dishonor, in my opinion. I mean, those very fans you snub your nose with are the ONLY reason he even gets a paycheck and the privilege to take part in one of the most challenging and exciting sports around. If there are no fans, there’s no job for him.
