I think Carson has the pace to make it to Cup
But his race-craft is not ready
I say put Carson in a 3 year deal at spire. 77 xfinity for yesr 1 and go from there
Carson to the 77 makes sense. Can’t imagine he would be any worse than Ty Dillon
77 isn’t as good as the 7
Kaulig makes sense too.
@CowWithTheAK I think it’s the driver more than the car itself. His average finish is 8 positions worse than the 7 car. He is 32nd in drivers points, Noah is the only full-time driver behind him. In all of Ty’s Nascar career he has 0 wins, 0 poles and 7 top 10’s in over 200 Cup starts.
1 win, 92 top 10’s and 4 poles in 161 starts
3 wins, 36 top 10’s and 5 poles in 58 Truck starts
Not exactly setting the world on fire.
Waste of Carson’s talent
I’d love to see Ty Dillon in a full time Xfinity role. His window of being a NASCAR cup driver has closed and it may be the best option to go the Justin Algaier route
But where would he go? MAYBE RCR if Papa wants to give him a ride.
I’d love to see Ty Dillon as the rear tire changer for the Gragson team.
@Josh Robertsbingo, the 3rd rcr car could return
resulting in a 29 second pit stop
Austin Hill is making a good argument for the #3 seat…imo
Preece strikes me as a tough guy, not just someone who acts tough
Going after someone while they’re still in their car is the opposite of tough, so I’m not sure about that.
@Nomad Man yeah, you’re right. Just saying some people act the part, and I don’t think he’s acting
@austin dillons helmet good point
I would love to see Hocevar in the cup series! I do like Ty a lot too but he is performing pretty bad
Ty is worse than his brother
@John Haas I know I never said he was better
@John HaasTys a little worse. His Daytona 500 win coke 600 win Daytona August win and Texas win were all flukes. The only reason he won is bc he’s in okay equipment
@Owen Crabtree if there was only one or two wins there, I’d be inclined to agree, but I don’t think four flukes are flukes anymore.
@Handsomedevil4 I mean you’re kinda right but the 500 he won bc he wrecked the 10 the coke 600 he won bc of fuel the Daytona august race he survived when everyone crashed and Texas was strategy
both of the dillon brothers could realistically help their teams if they resigned.the only reason they are drivers is because of pop pop.& their NOT very good drivers dispite their experience & well funded history.
Austin is a fine mid-pack driver on a “B” team. He’s got a few wins and has made the playoffs a few times.
I think that the Next Gen cars has actually hurt the mid-tier teams like RCR, SHR (at this point, it feels like they’re a mid tier team expect for the 4), and Legacy A LOT while helping the bottom tiers of RWR and Spire and not really effecting the top tiers like Penske, HMS and JGR. Obviously, the teams with the most resources are going to be less effected by change, because they have the most resources. The bottom tier got helped because everyone now has the same parts and pieces and there is simply less difference in the cars. The mid tier got screwed because I’m sure there were little nuances that they had figured out that maybe the big teams didn’t and the small teams didn’t have the R&D to find. Now, with everything being spec, there’s less of those little things to be found, so unless you have the big resources, you got kinda screwed because you didn’t gain in anything (in fact, you may have lost a little because now you have to use your limited resources to learn a new car), but the teams below you got a huge boost and are now competing with you.
They are very different, Austin had an extremely promising career prior to cup and has held his own. Ty has never had a lot of promise and overstayed his welcome in cup.
They’re both bums. Austin is just slightly better than Ty. Austin has been outrun by every teammate he’s had in Cup except Paul Menard. Greg Sacks without arms could outrun Paul Menard. Without RC, neither Dillon brother would’ve made it to the Xfinity series. I actually like them, and hope to see them run well(especially because they’re in Chevrolets). They just don’t have it.
@Vercingetorix4Funny Enough, Ty Dillion was the first to ever start Racing. But Austin ended up with a more Successful career
Justin Haley can drive. He’s proven that he deserves a chance and I think it’s safe to say that Rick Ware sees him as a long term investment. If the success RFK has this season can trickle down, they could potentially be a viable contender in a few years, especially without Cody stinking up the roster. It’s still a long shot, but I don’t think Justin was going to get anywhere anytime soon without taking a gamble.
Gonna have to be a Baltimore Orioles type thing
ty dillon needs to retire and go work for rcr as a test driver or something else
I can see this as a setup for when Keselowski retires, Haley can take over the 6 and have Rick Ware Racing as like a feeder team of sorts
Keep an eye on Preece this weekend at Richmond. Don’t forget he won pole earlier this year at Martinsville and absolutely dominated the first stage until a speeding penalty on pit road.
I’ll keep an eye on him when he gets a third lap down
@austin dillons helmetBriscoe is the one you have to look for to be 3 laps down. Preece is actually fairly decent when he isn’t being wrecked
@C. D. lol cryan
Preece vs LaJoie was an okay confrontation in my book. Preece has a right to be upset since he’s been taken out so many times this year, and LaJoie has a right to defend himself against disagreements with other drivers. Simple disagreement between two parties that ended okay for pretty much everyone involved.
I don’t like the idea of Hocevar to the 77. All Truck drivers need at least two to three years of Xfinity seat time before making it to Cup. Hocevar may be good right now, but if he’s rushed up too early, it won’t work out well for anyone.
Ty Dillon’s time in the Cup Series may be over, with a return to the Truck Series looking more likely (especially if it’s for RCR), but Hocevar needs more development time before getting a Cup ride. His potential needs to be allowed to build. I don’t want to see another good driver become a Cup Series bust.
If Haley thinks he can do good at RWR, then power to him. Maybe he can turn this team around. Who knows… maybe he can win a race for them. We’ll just have to wait and see. I would’ve liked to see him stick around at Kaulig, but maybe this is the start of something interesting.
Jeffrey Earnhardt has also been linked to that 8. Would be a cool move to get him a competitive ride again
So he can consistently run 15th instead of 25th?
Dude let’s not make Thanksgiving dinner awkward
Two most interesting and fun to watch teams this year are Front Row and Spire. Both McDowell and Lajoie are up on the wheel each and every race and brings a lot of fan excitement to NASCAR.
Todd G in the 38 sneaks into the top 15 more often than not
Hoping the Nashville Fairgrounds will survive and NASCAR can race there once again.
Hey, Ryan Preece should be replaced in the #41, the car is no better with him driving than the way it ran with Cole Custer driving. Cole is a winning driver if the equipment is capable, jus look at his record this year in Xfinity series, he should be put back in the #41 or maybe the #10 if Aric Almirola retires but Ryan really doesn’t have a lot of wins, most were in the modified series. Tony made a big mistake by hiring Ryan Preece thinking it would fix the 41 car, actually Tony needed to fix SHR before he changed the driver of the 41 beginning of this season but SHR is still broken because Kevin H. can’t consistently run up front weekly.
I bet Haley is Brad’s replacement down the line if he continues to show improvement. Brad is great at finding talent and he seemed really motivated into making this deal happen.
The biggest problem with the 77 is Ty Dillon He is an arca driver not a cup driver
Hocevar didn’t really skip a step on the ladder he just took the less common route of going from the Double E Cup Series to Trucks to Cup
DBC also hinted this week that there would be a shakeup in xfinity, especially at JRM. A comment was made about “someone going back to JGR who used to be at JGR”, which makes me think Brandon Jones is headed back to JGR. That would leave two slots open at JRM. Not sure if they are interested in bumping Carson Kvapil up to their xfinity team
I think Rick Ware needs to also sign Yeley full-time. He just got them a Top 8, had a great qualifying run at Bristol, and has tons of experience. I think Haley and Yeley is a great duo to build on for RWR.
Isn’t Rick Ware a 2 charter Team. Could be Realistic
