To think, RFK was struggling to get top 20’s just two years ago.

As a Brad K fan, this was one of the best races I’ve seen outta my boy in a long while. For the first time since 2021, I feel like Brad can genuinely contend for wins

Same over here, I was at Bristol last September and I was unworldly to watch him just pass cars like Larson until the tire blew considering the season

He’ll get there, arguably should’ve won a few races this year.

Never being a fan of Brad K, preferring Joey from before his Cup debut, I had always appreciated his ability, personality, accomplishments & racing style. With all that being said, from an owner’s perspective, him- being the owner, he should consider (if he doesn’t win a race or championship by the end of next season), retiring as a full-time Cup driver, after 2024.

He maybe could have won had he not messed up royally on pit road.

So far, pretty solid race today. Didn’t really miss that much tbh since I was out while the race is live. Congrats to Chris Buescher for getting this win!

A FORD WON!! AND 7 IN THE TOP 11!! I’m willing to admit I’m probably biased since most of my favorite drivers were up front but I actually really liked this race and same with New Hampshire because both races had multiple racing lines with plenty of passing, for example Buescher won after starting 26th, Almirola started 24th then drove up to the top 10, then had a penalty and drove his way back into the top 10, and Logano started 23rd and finished 4th. Also both these races were clean. There have been way too many races this season with too many wrecks so the clean races have been super refreshing.

Man RFK continues to get better and better. Next year they’re gonna be a championship contender. That’s my hot take
Good race today. I’d give it a 7/10.

I think at least one makes a deep run this year even

If they can make it out of round 1 they might make a run. Dega is big for them in round 2

Suit and tie Brad is just as good as Firesuit and helmet Brad.

Reply
Easy E Network July 31, 2023 at 9:52 am

@OGSOSSBOYThey also are good at short tracks like Bristol and maybe Martinsville now.

Buescher winning was a great feel good moment! There’s no doubt in my mind now. Roush Racing is back! He and Keselowski have stepped it up greatly this year! Awesome improvement, and great redemption from Daytona last year!

My pick for the championship, Kyle Busch, finishes 3rd, and his teammate Austin Dillon finishes 9th. Buschy is definitely doing some Harvick-style carrying for the team, but somehow someway, they both were able to do well today.

And all four SHR cars finishing in the top 11? That’s a miracle. I had a feeling that Preece would step it up at the short tracks coming up, and he did. Harvick as usual did well at Richmond, Almirola did okay but did choke it up a little, and Briscoe, despite being a non factor, did okay too.

As the playoff bubble closes in, Elliott may have a points cushion to propel him forward, but he and Bowman are still in must win scenarios now. I’ll be watching for them at Watkins Glen and Daytona, but I’m still sleeping on them. I think McDowell will make it in, and close off the bubble with 16th.

I feel bad for Bubba and Reddick. The McCurse got Bubba again. He did well, as did Reddick, but 23XI largely blew their greatest opportunity all season to bring both their cars home in the the top 5. It seems that Jimmy Spencer’s record of two wins in a single season for McDonald’s in Cup that’s stood since 1994 will never be broken. Hopefully, they can turn this around.

@Angelo Rametta thanks for the compliment! I think it will be down to just Busch and Truex at Phoenix, and it’ll be like Kulwicki vs Elliott in 1992. That’s gonna be intense!

Angelo Rametta July 31, 2023 at 1:30 am

@cadillacjohn1994It better be Busch…I can’t stand Truex after 2017.

Best Richmond race since 2011. I’m so happy for Christopher Buescher. That team is only going to get better and better.

I’m about to go to sleep, but I don’t think I can. I can’t believe Chris Buescher is ACTUALLY in the playoffs without having weather involved. Buescher is my favorite driver and I’ve been rooting for him ever since he joined Roush. I’m so happy for him. I can’t believe how MUCH Brad has transformed the team. Absolutely unbelievable.

Also, second short track win for Buescher.

He did really great today especially when he was trailing Brad… Then when he was out front! It was a hot sunny day at the track… Luckily it was only in the 80’s instead of the upper 90’s like the day before.

Points lead could be interesting going into last 4 races
1) Truex 744
2) Hamlin 705
3) Byron 701
Could really come down to Daytona

Reply
Easy E Network July 31, 2023 at 9:55 am

The way Truex is running, think he will run away with the regular season crown. He is good on road courses and not that bad at Daytona.

Reply
Tyler Hayes July 31, 2023 at 11:17 am

@Easy E Network I could see that happening. But Hamlin has won 2 poles this year at road courses so I think he has the speed there. And anything can happen at Daytona

Reply
Tyler Hayes July 31, 2023 at 11:18 am

@Easy E Network Byron has been good just about everywhere as well. One bad week from Truex and those other guys are right there

Kyle Busch had a huge performance today. Finally got a top 3 at a short track let alone a top 10 AND Austin Dillon did well which is a great sign for short tracks at RCR.

Kyle was actually turning the fastest lap times consistently before that final caution. It was good to see them figure something out.

Reply
Jo Vazquez July 31, 2023 at 1:24 am

Definitely an encouraging performance from Kyle Busch. It looks like Randall Burnett is finally closing in on a rock solid short track package.

Reply

They stumbled onto something late because Kyle even turned the fastest laps consistently before the final caution.

Busch had a horrible 1st stage, but Randall Burnett and Busch worked their magic to get him back to the top. That’s championship winning team perseverance right there

Even though I’m a big Chevy guy, I couldn’t be happier for RFK.

To see what happened to Jack and that program over the last decade was shameful and I’m glad to see that Brad is breathing new life into it.

As a Ryan Preece fan I was very happy to see him in 5th today. Hoping he can get into the playoffs in a few weeks time. Congrats to Chris Buescher though. He was really consistent all day and he had good speed. RFK is definitely a championship threat
