Todays race was probably THE best road course race I’ve ever watched!!!!
In my opinion I thought it was very boring I liked last year’s race better just my opinion
But I am happy that McDowell won
@ArhamSpeedLegend how was it boring?
Na 2012 Watkins Glen
idk what’s more impressive… the fact that mcdowell and FRM won or that we didn’t have a wreckfest of a race today
Why you got suspended on twitter?
@DennyDeliversYT Yeah why have you been suspended from X?
This race was much better than the typical wreckfest from the past 2 years.
Imagine telling someone Ford would win 3 races in a row and NONE OF THEM would come from Penske or SHR
I’d be more surprised if one of the 3 wins was from SHR.
Lol
@smalls3187LMAO
Let alone SHR still being winless at this point. Or Penske winless since the Coke 600.
Two from RFK and one from FRM.
Stenhouse trying to get on an international hit-list
Yep. And also world class hitters.
Great Britain, Japan, almost Germany. Did he hit Kostecki or SVG?
Super happy for Michael McDowell and Front Row Motorsports. He dominated today!
Kyle Busch has only 1 Top 20 finish in his last 5 races
@santacruzeryep. Which is a truly sad stats for #8 really right now.
@santacruzer before that he was very consistant
Congrats to Michael McDowell for getting this win! Ever since he’s been doing great at these road courses, I’ve been waiting to see him get another win soon. What a day for McDowell along with the rest of the drivers who had great finishes like SVG! Looks like we got another road course race next Sunday with Watkins Glen! I’ll be keeping an eye on some road course guys.
Maybe yes. Maybe no.
McDowell no doubt deserved this win. He has shown that he can drive a race car really well in the past few months, and he has proven himself in NASCAR
FRM was wise to keep him next year.
You should’ve seen him in 2005 in Grand Am
@DEI FANthis may be stupid of me to ask but what are McDowell’s other accomplishments outside of Nascar?
@DC322so did Emma Verde being kept by FRM for another year.
@DEI FANGrand Am?
So happy for McDowell. It was awesome was seeing him dominate a race like this, especially since I am a fan of his.
As a diehard fan of Nijigasaki High School Idol Club and NASCAR in general, wish #38 won a race at the very least…
I enjoyed no stage cautions. Gave the race a good flow. They need to bring it the ovals.
No no don’t
@Jefferson Kostersome people enjoy strategy racing on when to pit. Some people enjoy chaos of constant wrecks. To each their own.
Meh, hardly any passing.
@Jefferson Koster Why not? You like the manufactured racing where cars get bunched back up “just because”.
I believe (without any research) that today Ricky Stenhouse Jr set the record for crashing into the most drivers of different nationalities (at different times) in a race
He didn’t earn the nickname Wrecky Spinhouse by accident.
Lolols
Wrecky Spinhouse Jr strikes again.
He’s horrible! I Don’t know why the media pretends he’s a good cup driver. He belongs no higher than Xfinity. That Kroger money keeps him in Cup for some weird reason
It’s pretty cool to see the smaller teams really taking it to the bigger teams the last 3 weeks. The NextGen car might be doing a better job of providing a more even field for the teams with less funding than it gets credit for.
And credit to Ford too. It looks like some of the Ford teams something and caught up to Chevy and Toyota despite the aero disadvantage.
@Hueyep. Seems like Gen 7 cars gonna reawaken the 2000s NASCAR days despite fans dont like NASCAR due to awful Playoff elimination format.
True, and then Ford seems to have found some HP. They were pulling Chevy down the straights in this race.
@HuePretty sure it is aero or HP. Probably HP and set-up. Not much you can do for aero unless you adjust the shocks and travel a certain way to enhance aero.
I would like to see Nascar continue their racing with the segment finishing points but no use cautions to reset the field like they do on the road courses now .
Been saying it since around Gateway last year that FRM (McDowell specifically) was growing to be a legit contender. Glad to be proven right. Dude seems like a great guy and totally deserves it.
That wasn’t a bad race at all. The road course regs in the top three. McDowell, Elliott and Suarez. SVG picking up 10th today. Definitely he was holding his own. This was a crucial win for McDowell and FRM. McDowell was below the cut line but that win put him in the playoffs. Times running out for Suarez, Gibbs, Elliott, Dinger and Bowman. 8.8 out of 10.
For me this is truly bad. No crash fests. 2.6/10!
We all know Chase will be fast next week. He is easily a top 5 driver all-time at the Glen already with 4 straight top 5s there. And 2 wins and a runner-up finish.
Chase wasn’t going to catch Michael. Michael said he dialed it back in case they got a caution, and he didn’t want to burn up his tires, but when Chase started closing, he stepped it up and kept the distance.
Yes, but Chase clearly had more car left after getting through the Chevy lapped cars. McDowell also said if Chase had gotten through traffic he burnt his stuff up and might have been toast.
It’s not common to see a driver/team having a perfect day in Cup. However, Micheal McDowell and FRM did just that today.
Hope Emma Verde in the #38 gonna win a race to shake the NASCAR Playoff pictures a lot more.
Michael deserves every bit of success he gets right now, all this time he has been in backmarker cars, now he gets to flex his muscle
From rolling his car like it was going over the Grand Canyon at texas to multiple wins. Michael McDowell has paid his due and is reaping the rewards
On the two most famous racetracks on the schedule too!
I am SO HAPPY for FRM and Michael McDowell! He won because they had the best car, the best speed, and the best driver today. For a guy like McDowell who has slugged it out as a journeyman for years to finally “break through” is just very exciting. I don’t really count the 500 win as best car best driver, but he is a Daytona 500 Champion and has now won at Indy. Really enjoyed this race today
Michael McDowell is underrated and deserves a ton of credit for the driver he’s become in the last 2 years in Front Row Motorsport equipment.
Really, probably last 3-4 years. He has had to elevate bad equipment at FRM since he got there.
