Love Larson’s Indy 500 livery for his #17 IndyCar along with his NASCAR paint scheme for next year’s Coke 600!
I like how he’s gonna run identical schemes on the same weekend, that for me was the cherry on top
I’m glad the road course got a great race to (allegedly) send it off. I’m excited to see how the Next Gen performs on the Indy Oval! If it’s anything like Pocono, it should be an 8/10, strategy-oriented race.
Going from an 8/10 strategy oriented race to an 8/10 strategy oriented race, this time with 100% less right turns.
It’s not gonna change a damn thing and Pocono was only good because of the controversy there was 0 long green flag run lead changes this year and that’s not a good race when you got 0 passes for the lead Indy is just gonna be it’s usual self when we return to the oval boring boring boring and nothing but that it failed with the gen 4 gen 5 and gen 6 cars and it will fail with this car if it were up to me we be going to only the Indy road course 1 weekend and then irp the weekend after
I’m very excited to see Kyle Larson doing the double
I love Larson’s schemes! Hendrick and McLaren are a good combination. I wonder if he’ll be the first driver to win Indy 500 and Coke 600 on the same day. It could happen. Who knows.
Modern day AJ Foyt indeed. Somewhere out there, Foyt and Tony Stewart are proud.
finishing on the lead lap in both races would be a big enough win, I think Tony Stewart is the only person to have done that
Don’t forget Kurt Busch’s effort.
The goal for Larson is to finish all 1100 miles. So, just finishing on the lead lap needs to be the focus, especially for Indy
Getting New York Knocks vibes. I would be very surprised if Kyle Larson doesn’t win another championship in his career before retirement.
@DMcMy only hope is that someday Kyle Busch gets to do the double… The first brothers to complete in the double!
Not a Larson fan but I’ll be cheering for him next May
Would be nice to see a NASCAR guy mix it up with the Indycar regulars
Imma root for Penske and Larson that day
@DEI FAN Hopefully he can win
That would make him a winner of the 600 and the Indy 500, all he would need then is a win a Monaco for the triple crown
Also, regardless if deals are made, I don’t think FedEx will return full time next year. They’ve been quiet all season, and a recent report says they’re making a deal, but that could mean anything. At the very least, he’ll have Coca-Cola, Yahoo, and SportClips to help next year.
If nothing works out though, there’s always the option of being an owner-driver with 23XI, or just going to the 42 Petty car (that one’s probably unrealistic though).
It’s pretty clear FedEx is not going to do The number of races they used to do
@John Haas yep. I wonder how long it will be before they’re gone completely.
FedEx announced a deal back in June but nothing official.
@John Haas Yeah, they’re slowly pulling out like Miller Lite
What if Toyota brought Legacy Motor Club into the Toyota fold to hedge incase talks with Denny fell apart? I would have to assume another Toyota team gives them more leverage in any negotiations.
I wish they do both the road course and the oval in one year
Can’t
If the crowds was bigger I’d see that happening but Indy isn’t attracting attendence
How can you use the loss of a sponsorship agreement as the catalyst that dissolved Gibbs/Busch relationship. Especially after looking at the numbers, Childress’ 2 car team out funded all of the 4 car teams. JGR just likes taking their ball and going home when things aren’t perfect for Management
You cannot tell me that Joe Gibbs really tried to keep Kyle Bush. We all know good and well that he wanted his grandson in that car and the way to get it was not get a good contract or a contract or sponsor at all for Kyle Bush. I believe the numbers for Kyle’s career speak for themselves and I also believe that richard Childress racing has been better off for Kyle Bush And not Austin Dylan. I really think that Joe Gibbs needs somebody that knows what they’re doing to run that team because it’s pretty clear. He doesn’t have a clue. When J. D. and Key were alive that company was great they were the ones that ran things, and now Papa Joe just is clueless, and he makes these, stupid naïve statements to the media. I honestly don’t see FedEx coming back and I don’t see Deni coming back which really does not hurt my feelings because I am not at Deni Hamlin fan. I do not respect any Hamlin, because the only way he knows how to win is to run through or over somebody.
I was in Charlotte for the Coke 600 when John Andretti flew in and right over our heads in the grandstands from the Indy 500. It was very exciting.
I was there that year. Listened to indy on radio out in parking lot before the 600
I think it was David Land that made a argument to have the Brickyard 400 to have a special week like Daytona speed week to make the event even more unique. I like the idea
i think attendance for the first Brickyard 400 back would probably be pretty good i think that would be a draw since it’s been gone for years now. however the product needs to be good on track and meaningful for the drivers for that to remain the case in the following years
I don’t think so I think it will only sell out half the seats. The racing won’t be great with this car the last test they did with the cars flopped and its August time is running out before they start getting ready for the Daytona 500 and the 2024 Season for them to keep going back to the drawing board. They gotta get figured out by October/Early November so they have time to add it to the rule book for 2024 and make sure they have time to test it plenty of times before they decide to race whatever the change maybe. They need to just add HP to the engines in my opinion but nascar isn’t jumping on that for whatever reason.
I think the Indy road course could be ran by Xfinity next year if the Brickyard 400 returns. That would make Cup at the oval, Xfinity on the roval, and Trucks at IRP!
Honestly, it makes me wonder if rotating between tracks for each series seems plausible (like how one year Cup runs the oval, and then next year they run the RC, and then the next year they run at IRP), this wouldn’t only make the brickyard more special imo, but it would allow more chances for some drivers to win at Indy
Larson will do great things in the 500
I’m so excited for next season seeing Kyle Larson in a Indy car, I’d be lying. If I said I wasn’t nervous for him.. I’m sure he will get some on track time and be ready…
Good show as always Eric. Larson definitely one of the best all around drivers right now. Small correction —he was top 10 not top 5 yesterday. Keep up the GREAT content!
Love the orange on Kyle’s cup car hopefully will do good in the Hendrick 1100. Joe Gibbs would be a absolute fool not to sign Hamlin to multi year contract just get it done. Eric makes a great point every other year Oval then Road course sounds good.
Love the scheme ❤️ Can’t wait to see my boy dominate at Indy (fingers crossed)
I think people are reading too much into the Hamlin situation. Like you said, there are a few specific things that they’re waiting to see unfold before putting pen to paper. Also, with all this talk about Toyota wanting to expand their Cup lineup, they’d be foolish to stiff-arm Denny’s team and the money that they bring in.
I am starting to get the feeling that FedEx is scaling back though. Probably no more than 16 races for them. But other sponsors like SportClips, Yahoo!, Coca-Cola, and Mavis will likely step up, as they have this year. And I believe one of the reasons Joe sold a stake to Josh Harris was to change up their sponsorship model and bring new partners in for the whole team.
I really hope the brickyard 400 returns. I’m really tired of the road course. Maybe they can incorporate a road course at Daytona somewhere else, just not at the brickyard. It’s too much of a important track. We go to Daytona two times a year so maybe we can incorporate Daytona second time or the first time around as a road course
