NASCAR went to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway this past week to race at the facility's road course layout for possibly the final time. With rumors of the oval's return swirling and Playoff spots becoming more rare Michael McDowell dominated the day as others scrambled behind him in a quick mad dash. But that's not all as silly season just gets sillier and the final 1/3 of the season begins on a hot note!!!

It going to be a chevy in the Racing Saturday and Sunday
McDowell was always an interesting driver to me. He’s very talented, he can’t seem to catch a break and sign with a big team, but he never gives up.
Yeah! He’s sort of the modern day Chuck Bown
Elliott should’ve won the roval in ’22 before that debris caution with 2-3 to go
I have no desire to watch NFL anymore. It is like watching WWE. I will take racing over it.
Always slightly felt this wat
I highly disagree but to each their own.
Thank goodness the MSG & NASCAR deal is practically overwith…I assume Monster Games and a few other companies could make some games in the future and that has me excited!
The numbers speak for themselves:
Gen 7 Road Course Victories?
Tyler Reddick: 3
Chase Elliot 0
There are so many great drivers in the field, with equipment so close the top 10 drivers are within a tenth of one percent at times.
So many factors go to into a single race win, ranging from atmosphere temp, crew penalties, driver penalties, fuel consumption, equipment failure, etc.
I feel that, while Chase Elliot is a fantastic wheelman, and a great RC racer, he’s also one of a handful.
I focus namely on the one outdoing him, Tyler Reddick.
The 8 car wasn’t better than the 9, but the driver sure is, be it TR, or KB. The Toyota isn’t the winningest RC car, the Chevy is, and yet. Reddick wins at COTA. Luck or skill, the number doesn’t lie.
I wish Chase luck at the Glen, though, it’s gonna be a fantastic opportunity for a back to back McDowell W 😉
I’m not saying Elliott will win this weekend but he has led 170 of the 540 laps he’s ran there. With 161 of those laps led in the last four races where he had the best car in each race. He had to come from the back in 21 and still finished 2nd but was closing on Larson and last year was knocked out of the way by Larson. He’s led 29, 80 and 52 laps in three of the last four which averages out to 40 laps led per race in a 90 lap race. Smoke only led 225 of the 1,410 laps he ran there in his career and Gordon on led 262 of the 2,075 laps he ran there in his career. He’s on pace to blow both of two greatest to race there out of the water by the end of his career if he can keep it up. I dont know if he will always be great because sometimes drivers just have great stints at tracks the have bad ones but it will be interesting to see how it looks in about 15 to 20 years if NASCAR and us are still around. Again I’m not saying he will when because anything can happen but if he doesn’t win or isn’t contending I’d be shocked. But it has been a weird year for him so who knows.
MCDOWELL SUPREMACY
Bring back stage breaks…
Honestly with the situation i don’t see Larson making the same move that he made last year on the last restart. If Larson does and Chase or even Bowman is leading he would be a pure idiot and i would fully go into a Larson hater. If someone else is leading let Larson be Larson.
If you get a new winning at The Glen (Elliot, Suarez, Briscoe) there’s only 2 points between Keselowski and Harvick
I missed it when it was live
Nice throwback jacket from Tony’s Home Depot JGR years BFM
The most likely Cup Series team that I see swapping manufacturers entering 2025 is Stewart Haas Racing. RFK and Front Row I think will climb up the Ford ladder. Keselowski is very smart when it comes to team ownership and FRM has emerged as a team that is not to be underestimated. Harvick‘s future team ownership ambitions might lean him towards Ford. With Stewart’s team declining, maybe Toyota would give him a hand since Petty‘s team has been backmarkers since around 2017.
