I’d like to say Elliot running out of fuel, but the #8 got screwed in the deal!

William Byron finishes 14th at the Indy Road Course after not only starting in the rear but also having to do a pass through penalty on lap 1

Fast Forward 1 week and he obliterates the competition at the Glen

except for McDowell in the first stage

Stevie Giamalis August 21, 2023 at 1:48 pm

@gothard5even with the penalty, Byron passed him on pit road

Byron is driving like a young jeff gordon

Reply
Chris Murray August 20, 2023 at 11:55 pm

Lol Byron is good but no way he compares to a young Jeff Gordon. Gordon had 49 wins in his first 7 years of racing

@Chris Murray ok

Only William is nice.

Lol no. This is the first race where Byron actually wins without back into it.

So Mad Max Papis is his driving coach, good choice.

@Laprasfanboy I agree. Chevys & Ford. Toyota have little group.

I don’t want another 2015 fake Championship, so I hope neither of them make it. Coming from someone who really likes both drivers, but prefers the integrity of what it means to be a true Champion.

Pablo Domingo August 21, 2023 at 12:12 am

@DerrickRG Do you think William Bryon will be At Phoenix Raceway in November to race for A Championship.

Reply
James Zeigler August 21, 2023 at 12:50 am

@DerrickRG91 As an Elliott fan I think even if he does win he will be a non factor in playoffs the 9 team just isn’t good enough this year…

2 RC with 1 caution apiece is crazy, would’ve never thought it could happen

As a Jeff Gordon fan from his first year, it feels really good to see the 24 at the top again.

His car looked great, nice win!

William got an unreal break with that caution but he was just purely dominant today. He was hitting his corners perfectly everywhere he went. Happy to watch MTJ get top 10 as well. He also benefitted from that caution as much as anyone as he had pitted just a couple laps before. Gotta feel for Mcdowell, he was running well today….

Skyler Shank August 21, 2023 at 4:13 am

Love the commentary…’if he can make it through the last curve’…(he’ll win). Duh……
