I said it before ill say it again the charter system ruined small teams in general
It kind of did, but you have Rick Ware and RFK is rebounding big time. FRM is also building something. It also makes it so even smaller teams have tangible assets.
Always a shame to see teams shut down, hope their drivers can all find new rides

grant enfinger is 38 years of age, he could retire very soon. but i do see him replacing deegan at thorsport because she is horrible in a truck but good in other series. dye finds a toyota truck team like
hattori, tricon or halmar friesen to drive his number 43. caruth will probably be in a second rev racing truck, at bill mcanally to replace xfinity bound christian eckes, or maybe the anchor driver at kbm. the alpha prime move is not completely out of question, but he would be rushed up.
@ChiChiWoo i have been going with APR since he has ran some xfinity starts but ya that would be rushing. Also liked how you said deegan is good in other series. She did good in SRX but ya her truck series is costing teams more money rather then results are.

Sad to hear about GMS. MASSIVE blow to the already in trouble Truck Series. Glad to hear that Daniel Dye isn’t out of nascar though. Looking forward to hearing where he’ll go here next year pretty soon.
I really never thought Gallagher’s truck team will be gone too soon. I thought they will move to Toyota to go along with Legacy Motor Club but I guess not.

I think kbm might expand their operations. I mean, there aren’t really any other truck teams that Chevy will out their support behind. I could see rajah caruth and/or daniel dye moving over to kbm

i would rather have dye at toyota because of his relationship with the petty 43. i would love a third kbm truck though. i think they will still be allowed to use number 18 because of brexton. don’t forget, there’s always bill mcanally’s team that could be losing christian eckes to xfinity within the next two years.
That was my thoughts too. When he moved to RCR last year, I figured it would only be a few years before kbm was the new big bad Chevy truck team

As for Zane Smith… this will get me a lot of flack… but I REALLY want him to drive for a struggling Ford team, and use his skills to make whatever organization that is, a winning contender in the Cup Series again.
I want him to drive for either SHR or the Wood Brothers, especially the Wood Brothers, and have him make those struggling teams strong again. Hiring an elite driver to fix a struggling team has worked for others in the past, including SHR and WBR. If it’s worked before… it could easily work again… if the timing is right.
maybe once mcdowell’s time is up he can take the 34. mcdowell should be done around 2025

@Kylito’s Korner well what i’m saying is, if stewart haas is still struggling with younger drivers in 2024, smith can bail out.
WBR is not going to suddenly be much better with a better driver. They could be okay, but don’t see it making as big of a difference there as at SHR.
Maybe instead of Silly Season it could be called Financial Frustration Season

Interesting that Hamlin hadn’t sign a new contract with JGR as of today. Hmmmmmmmm.
@DC322 he has made the contract for JGR but can not sign it until Toyota does their part with 23xi. And denny goes to whatever manufacturer 23XI goes to. If Toyota doesn’t give the support needed they move out of Toyota. Basically, everything is ready to go if Toyota gives the good end of the stick to 23XI. If not. Well, Denny and 23xi are on the move.

This is sad. I hope GMS gets their final win this season. I also hope their younger drivers find a better ride.

Is it time with SHR. If they lose out on Zane to give up all hope on them ? As an SHR fan it’s been rough. They lost out on Larson, Kyle Busch and now possibly Zane? That feels like more of a bigger blow than JGR losing a team. They’ll survive. SHR who knows.

@k smithWhich is odd since I thought Fed-Ex was a Gibbs sponsorship as much as Hamlin, but if Denny takes Fed-Ex, that would be very interesting.
I am a Front Row Motorsports fan and hate to see them lose Zane. Bob Jenkins understands business as well as anyone. To let Zane walk, he must be reading the tea leaves and see trouble ahead – financially.
And don’t for the Bob Jenkin Charter scheme….FRM owns other charters they lease out or at they used to any ways. Bob is smart and I’m sure Jerry Freeze and team have some sort of plan improve their position.
Zane may have wanted a lot more money than Gilliland, that Jenkins couldn’t justify.
Many reason front row drop zane was Mcdowell has very high saying in the team. Mcdowell said to get front better he didn’t want a rookie teammate that take time to get to understand car
I think it’d be awesome if Jr Motorsports bought the GMS assets. Would love to see JRM in trucks.
I don’t see Kelly doing that and Jrm would need a new shop or at least another one and lagacy is run out of the same place as GMS other than different buildings
What about HMS gets a partnership with spire and put out a fulltime #17 truck to go along with spires #7 truck
Only way I can see Kelly letting jrm get into trucks is if Rick Hendrick would help with it like he does with jrm’s Xfinity program which Rick Kelly and dale Jr are really close and have made a ton of money together

Damn, didn’t expect to see GMS Racing in the Truck series shut down. Hopefully Enfinger and Caruth can find other rides available. As for Zane Smith, I could see him possibly drive in the Cup Series or maybe have another season in trucks. These teases with their tweets gets things interesting and makes us wonder.

I had thought that Zane would take over the 10 but I thought it would be in a SHR car but if he does go to 23XI I think it’d be a much better opportunity for him with SHR being as lackluster as they have been
I think that the third charter talks between rfk and 23XI have changed the completion of silly season and changed a bunch of future plans for 2024
If Denny goes to Ford, that tells me he is going to likely run the 3rd car and leave Gibbs obviously. I doubt Gibbs would leave Toyota for Ford.
The old clip of Eric is such a shock, he’s come so far in the look of the show. I can’t wait to see his new setup when he gets a new place.
Totally shocked to hear GMS is closing up shop. They’ve been an important part of Truck Series history.
I’d love to see Kevin Harvick get back into the Truck Series.
Kevin left the truck series acknowledging it was distracting him from his cup team. With retirement maybe he’ll think about it again.
I like to see Kevin look at IMSA series. I think he would do better and have fun racing in that series.

I’d love to see KHI start a full team truck team and make Layne Riggs the driver. Riggs is last year’s Nascar Weekly Series late model national champion, has had several really good runs in the trucks with different teams, and already drives for Harvick in the 62 in the CARS Tour on a part time basis, and is represented by Harvick’s management team. That boy is going to be a huge star whenever he gets his big full time break
Since there was speculation or talk about RFK trying to buy a 3rd charter, with Zane Smith a free agent do you think they try harder to get that done now. He subbed for them in the 17 last year and I’m sure Zane would be a great piece for RFK to build around for their future
Plus I believe RFK has a technical alliance with front row, so I think there’d be familiarity in that sense as well as subbing in for the 17. Honestly with SHR struggling, Brad keselowski mentioning getting another charter, and the fact that everyone involved is with Ford, SHR selling a charter to RFK for Zane Smith to drive in would be the best case scenario for everyone involved.
I have a soft spot in my heart for the term “silly season” because the OG Jayski’s used to be my go-to website for all things NASCAR.
