Breaking his seven-year streak of playoff appearances, Chase Elliott did not make it into the 2023 playoffs following his finish at Daytona.

Elliott missed the playoff wow
He deserves to miss it after what he did at the 600. He was very inconsistent as well. Him wrecking Hamlin, pretty much eliminated Any chance he had at making it. I really feel like chases fans can be immature at times. I think Ryan Blaney is more deserving of more popular driver than Chase. Ryan Blaney is awesome and lovable by a lot of people too. He’s also very relatable.
I guess so
I agree with the blaney part I’m 50/50 on the chase Elliot part
@the _elmeister your jealousy is a bright and shining beacon for others to avoid.
For everybody that said nascar will fix it for chase to win to get in need to watch this interview.
Chase hopefully should eventually conquer Daytona, but I think Hendrick will not allow Chase to take that snowboarding trip next year while they are on the west coast.
Still waiting for the first three cars to “fail” post race tech a la Pocono last year.
@TheEcrus I think they may still, what happened was a freak accident. I think as long as guys are allowed to race dirt races and everything else, he will be allowed to snowboard.
Hate elliott all u want but he is very humble, mature and doesn’t cry about nothing really and keeps his head up
I’m not sure about the “Mature” part. I’d apply it to the way he views racing but not when he get’s into feuds with other drivers. Especially after he wrecked Denny. He’s damn lucky safer barriers exist.
@HeemanMcSpeed even mature drivers make mistakes, and you also have to take into account Hamlins history with Chase over the years. Hamlin is far from being a model driver to follow.
@TheEcrus exactly
I feel bad for Chase, I hope he gets it next year.
If he keeps from getting injured again, I’m sure he will not miss the playoffs next year. Though Chase at least can compete for the owners championship so Chase still has something he can strive for his team. I think it was the injury that did him in this year. Because lets be real we weren’t expecting Chase to get injured so early on in the season. And that injury affected him in his return, because he wasn’t really qualifying that well when he usually did a decent job in years past at the tracks where he qualified horribly.
Chase missed time when the HMS cars were at their strongest. They’ve gone downhill as the year has gone on.
@Matt B. they’ll be back, I wouldn’t worry about it.
As a kevin harvick fan I was rooting for either kevin or chase to win. But that wasn’t on kevin he did everything he could as the lead car on the bottom line even Elliott said that he couldn’t get to kevin because he had no one pushing him but I’m confident that Elliott will make it in next year and even win championships
Oh I’m sure Hendrick next year is gonna make sure Chase doesn’t take a snowboarding trip, and by then Chase should return to qualifying better than he has since his injury earlier this year. I think Chase will make the playoffs next year and I know Chase is capable of getting multiple championships. And if you ever tried to follow the iceberg youtube channel he keeps up with the who the champion would be based on the winston point system and Chase would have been last years champion if Nascar never changed their system back in 04.
Me too I was hoping harvick to win
@TheEcrus oh yeah I know and I think if nascar used that points system kevin would have more than one championship as well in my opinion he’s the true 2020 champion I hate the playoffs because you can dominate the regular season and do good in the playoffs but in one of the rounds things goes wrong and miss it by one spot or a point and you don’t get to be in the championship even though you should be and deserve to be in it like kevin in 2020
He really has had some of the worst luck, but can’t be disappointed in his effort, he deserved to get in, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Love to still see him get a win this season though and go fight for that Owners Championship.
0:34 nice of Kenan Thompson to be working security at Daytona
Lesson one: don’t go snowboarding after the season’s started.
Lesson 2: Do not get suspended for deliberately wrecking people.
@WhatAboutTheBeelesson 3: win
I’m calling it now, Chase is going to win 5+ races and the championship next year.
Eh probably not but you never know
The best chance was Watkins Glen but of course…..his team blew it
His team? Do I have to remind you of the 7 races that he missed due to his own stupidity? One race to seven?
Got sabotaged by his own team this year.
He also sabotaged himself.
One race. He got “sabotaged” one race. How many races did he make stupid decisions and miss on his own? Seven. Safe to say that he sabotaged himself on this one pal.
We’ll Get Em’ Next Time
Don’t race snowmobiles and right hook someone. That’s your lesson Chase.
Guess this year wasn’t meant to be. Looking forward for the 9 to come back swinging harder next season.
Yeah big lessons, as a chase fan I can’t help but feel disappointed
Next 10 races don’t matter. Time to start working towards next season.
