Man went to Daytona, flew home, pressed record, edited the video, and uploaded it, and it is very late at night. Thats dedication right there
I don’t think he flew home, he moved houses. If I remember correctly he moved to Florida(?)
He lives in Florida., yeah Florida is a large state but it really isn’t that big. But good on Eric for getting the video up before NOON.
Update on Ryan Preece:
He has remained overnight at Halifax Health Medical Center for continued observation.
He is awake, alert, and mobile. He has been communicating with family and friends.
He will be evaluated by medical personnel later this morning.
An update will be provided in the afternoon.
Thank you for you support.
Best NASCAR YouTuber
He has a private plane.
That was scary hope ryan is ok haven’t seen a car flip that much in years
Took my breath away watching it. Perkins has his at Dega earlier in the season.
Can’t wait for brad k to win. It’s gonna be fun to watch him win again
The man is more concerned about the team as a whole winning than himself.
Exactly, Brad could’ve won.
He was more concerned about the 1-2 finish than risking it and possibly getting neither.
Yeah. However, I’ve noticed that in the last 5 races, 4 of them were Ford Winners (3 Wins – Chris Buescher, 1 Win – Michael McDowell).
That Preece crash was the most violent crash I’ve ever seen in any Motorsport. Me and my family were silent after the wreck, and I almost started crying when I saw Preece get out of that car. The amount of relief that washed over me was almost overwhelming.
Worst Crash not involving a Wall or Fence in NASCAR I can recall.
Worst crash you’ve ever seen in motorsports? Look at Dan Drinan’s midget crash at Springfield. From a shear violence standpoint his crash was WAY worse.
Time and distance are the most violent crashes. Shorter the distance, faster the time = most dangerous
I have not seen a wreck so scary that I screamed in horror.
Overall, today’s Daytona race is crazy and intense! Some big ones I saw during this race along with that scary Ryan Preece flip! Glad Ryan Preece is ok! Also, congrats to Chris Buescher for getting his 3rd win of 2023 which puts Bubba Wallace on the 16th spot of the playoffs. It’s unfortunate that Chase Elliott missed the playoffs, but I expected this to happen tbh.
@Tow Sr. Bubba is in the playoffs and rightfully so my guy. He basically been in the top 16 all season long.
@Marquis Veganyeah non of us care. You play that card, you loose support. I have more respect for Iwuji than Bubs and that’s just how most of us are going to be.
Ryan Blaney could have died in that crash 20 years ago
Yea I thought about that too, that’s like damn near exactly like dales
Says a lot about the safety innovations since then.
The escape panel breaking and the window net becoming compromised was majorly concerning.
That initial hit to the grass knocked off those pieces + the front windshield, very, VERY concerning
That’s not good. Nascar has already taken his wrecked Ford to the R&D center for safety examinations.
I immediately thought the worst when he did not have the window net down.
Man that some big flip that hard as it get people you not drive this back to pit road yes you might lose a windshield [lol]
@Tixiolook at a cars that flipped like that in the 90s. Darrell waltrip, rusty Wallace, Davey Allison. Those cars looked way worse and came apart a lot more
I was so scared for Preece. Glad he’s feeling well enough to tweet.
Glad Bubba made the playoffs but feel bad for Suarez and Almirola for missing out.
In the big wreck in stage 2 Josh Berry hit the inside wall a TON and no one even noticed. You can see it at 3:55
That’s not Josh Berry, it’s Brennan Poole in the 15 that slammed the inside wall hard.
Berry was running on the lead lap at the checkered flag in 22nd, Poole wrecked out here in 39th.
I was wondering who that was whoa
@BladeBrigadePoole lost it trying to avoid what he thought was probably another car. Hard to see in smoke.
Ryan’s crew reaction struck me hard, as soon as they knew he was at least conscious and with the safety team they immediately said something along the lines of “someone’s gonna die soon in one of these”.
Brain Murphy who was a SHR Employee and is a big race fan said this kinda racing has run it’s course and needs to end at super speedways.
@John Haas I personally disagree with the sentiment NASCAR will have a death at daytona or talledega soon, I was more so pointing out the emotion of having a driver in a wreck like that. Over the last 20 years this has been said every year, the reason we haven’t had a death is because NASCAR uses wrecks like this, wrecks like Larson and Preece at dega, wrecks like Blaneys to build data and make the cars way safer. I wouldn’t doubt the cars being a good 30% safer next time we go to dega or Daytona.
@CheddarMX Gives everyone a false sense of safety. I think one of the TV guys even mention that last night. Make no mistake, this sheet is dangerous.
@Karen Koe NASCARs most dangerous tracks are 10x safer then any other racing series overall. We haven’t had a death in 22 years almost every other series has had a death in the last 10. Racing is dangerous, but NASCAR is the least dangerous racing series in terms of both injuries and deaths.
I’m gonna be honest with ya, it’s your channel that has brought back my passion for NASCAR. All my guys had retired or were getting close to it. NASCAR really wasn’t on my radar anymore. I would watch your videos more than I watched races. I feel like my interest now is back to where it was between mid 90s through 2013 / 2014
Daytona has been brutal lately for those named Ryan
Both in fords
@Jack Stalcup
You mean all three in Fords. Ryan Blaney had a hard wreck too last night
Ryan Newman at 2003 and 2020 flip. Ryan Blaney last night big hit in the wall and Ryan Preece a horrific flip we haven’t seen in decades.
If I were Ryan Truex, I’d stay away
@The CouchHe’s not in a Ford he’ll be OK
You know it’s serious when the announcers go quiet. That flip reminded me of Rusty Wallace back in the day at Daytona and Talladega
Both in 1993. The first was in the Daytona 500. The other was in the spring Talladega race in May
Also like when dw went for a wild flip too
Blaney’s hit was massive, eerily reminded me of 2001. Maybe because it reminded me of that hit, noticed Jr was rather quiet for a while.
Blaney’s crash looked like Dale Sr’s 01 crash and Preece’s crash looked like Rusty’s 93 crash. Scary stuff
Gen 4 flashbacks all around, and not in the good ways
Dw 91 flip in the mud
UPDATE: SHR says Ryan Preece was discharged from the hospital this morning and is on his way back to North Carolina.
Awesome news! Thank god!
That’s good to hear.
Thanks for the update on Ryan. That was a scary heck of a wreck.
