I’m so glad he’s ok
Bro I wanna be one of these drivers when I grow but from this wreak I might rethink it
Safer then ever. It’s always a possibility of happening though
Severe injuries and even death are always a possibility, but they’re way lower than it used to be
I still wanna be in nascar it’s just so hard that was my dream as a little kid im 28 now but I wish I could
The car held up surprisingly well. It’s always unfortunate to see someone go over like that. It’s important to look at all angles though. To me, the safer the cars get, the more risks drivers are willing to take. I hope the drivers risk tolerance doesn’t supersede material science through this safety journey.
It really amazing at how they have implemented all of the safety features, Its just ashame that we had to lose Dale to learn even more about preventing catasprohes like that in the future. Hopefully we won’t have to lose anymore of our brave drivers to improve safety concerns.
The Hans device was in the race that took SR life but he thought he didn’t need it but after his life was taken Nascar mandated it
NASCAR should be very proud of themselves that we had two of the hardest crashes in recent memory on Sunday, from which both drivers walked away without a scratch. Hats off to the engineers and the leadership that took this issue seriously after last year’s incidents, and rapidly made changes to the car that were effective. Thank you for the work you’re doing to keep our drivers safe. Absolutely phenomenal job.
Without a scratch?
@Nuhad Farzanmaybe not quite, but a bit bruised is far, far better than multiple days in the hospital or worse
I get the spirit of this comment, but hospitalized overnight does not equal walked away without a scratch.
um buddy, the window net and escape roof hatch was destroyed almost immediately. That isnt a proud of all the safety features We shouldn’t be proud of this and NASCAR for sure shouldn’t be proud of this. This Next gen has so many flaws (too many to count) and what we witnessed saturday was easily the biggest. This car is actually killing young drivers careers.
What about the engine flying out?
I don’t think it did?
The legendary ones flip at Daytona and I suppose Preece is one of them now.
Maybe show us the car
Any concern that the escape hatch came off right away, and was there any debris intrusion through that opening to the driver’s head or body?
Forgot nascar existed until this crash, now I’m seeing it everywhere.
Glad he’s doing well. Still not a fan of him but glad he’s ok to continue competing. I’m glad NASCAR decided to add crumple zones to protect the passenger compartment. I hate it came at an expensive on a talented driver for them to change it.
