As a bowman fan it disappoints me that he did this, that first block was fine but risky but that second block was a stupid move. It is Darlington with ~40 laps left. He didn’t even need to block.
Lots of talent but had a lapse of immaturity by justifying his move based on Suarez’s lack of talent He’s got to hold himself to a much higher standard
When you’ve had the season he’s had and battled back to get on the lead lap why wouldn’t he block? 40 to go in a 500 mile race is when you make risky moves.
TracksideViews because blocking with 40 laps left only going to cause a wreck ….and he wasn’t in the lead
I’m an HMS supporter and didn’t approve of that pair of blocks. Like Suarez and (Jeff) Burton said, You can block once – okay that’s fair. But block a second time, that’s not cool. Alex got yeeted, and rightfully so. A shame for Harrison though.
@Trackside Viewsthe block wasn’t the bad part, what was bad is that he went for a block again
Considering that everyone in the broadcast booth seemed to agree with Suarez…
Even the Alex Bowman fans thought it was dumb
there’s really no need to be blocking like that with 40 laps to go
This isn’t iRacing. 500 miles with 40 laps to go when is he supposed to protect his position? Some people need to understand how racing works.
@Trackside Views You don’t protect your position by running over someone’s nose twice. Ask Tony Stewart what people who throw blocks get.
In Bowman’s defense he did admit on Twitter after the fact that he threw a bad block which he absolutely did I’m surprised more people don’t get turned for blocking tbh
Why do I often feel like I am back in high school watching Nascar races?
Because you’ve watched too much boring F1?
@Trackside Views F1 is entertaining if you look at it from a racing standpoint. Nascars allow for more bumping and rough racing that ends in drama
Suarez called it dumb, because it was a double block. You can block once, it’s not dumb it’s racing, literally what Alex said. I know all the cup drivers have done something similar at some point but it’s fine if Suarez wants to keep a rivalry with Alex and block him every time, so long as it’s only once… 😉
are you actually being dense on purpose? Momentum is going to send you in the wall if you wanna block high after blocking low in this instance. Bowman wrecked himself by trying too hard with hanging on to the position
@TheDudeMan I feel kinda bloated today actually.
Man, idk what ate you but, what you said I never even contradicted. I was pointing this out:
Alex says blocking is dumb driving.
Suarez and everyone else in the Booth agree blocking twice is a problem.
Suarez said Alex was dumb for blocking twice.
Alex responds with “-his crew chief flipped me off once at the airport-“ and that “Suarez drives dumb-“ because he blocks in general.
I totally agree with you!!!!
Didn’t see any words exchanged
I’m telling ya, it’s clickbait lol! We were all waiting for some type of heated drama.
Your right no words exchanged
Yeah, maybe with the lady reporter there.
somewhat of a throwback to his 2019 dega block which also ended in destruction
Time and time again double blocks don’t work. The second one will be late and ill timed.
Bowman was 100% in the wrong for what he did. He was way over his head with the blocks.
Guess Bowman thought he was iRacing.
It was a very good race last night.. I enjoyed watching it.
That was a stupid move bowman made blocking the 99 so I understand the frustration of the 99
Suarez exchanging words… that made me laugh hysterically. I have never understood a word he says
Well that’s unfortunate, cause he’s pretty wise with his words
Am i stupid but NBC didn’t show Alex being interviewed on tv. Right?
Bad decision to block by Bowman, bad decision to not let up by Suarez. result is two wrecked racecars.
Bowman caused that. Daniel could have backed off and could have continued but chose not to. So he to is partially responsible.
He blocked the 1 just as aggressive two laps prior to that.
I like Bowman, but the blocks were so dumb and unnecessary. He almost did the same thing to Ross a few laps before.
Bowman owned it. 99 could have lifted and both cars could have finished.
