I knew when Larson signed with HMS that the level at which both race at, we would have the same kind of “competition amongst teammates” ala Hamilton/Rosberg

Exactly! There’s a brewing rivalry between Kyle and Chase.

Well there was a rivalry starting between Gordon and Johnson in 2010, so I’m interested to see how this continues. This is the 3rd time these two had issues with each other.

I wouldn’t let Elliott near my car if I was Larson…imo

Yep, we can kiss the possibility of no stage cautions everywhere goodbye. Darn it

It’s a good thing we need stage cautions

@Lord Voldemort owner of brooks burgers Indiana no we dont, did things perfectly fine for decades without it

@Lord Voldemort owner of brooks burgers Indiana No, we need a car that can race well on road courses and short tracks. Stage cautions don’t improve the racing at all.

ThiccRib September 12, 2023 at 5:31 pm

They made a car that sucks on road courses and decided that having stage cautions is a better idea than make cars that race good

Elliott and Larson kinda remind me of Johnson and Gordon as teammates when they were both in their prime

Minus the friendship part tbh. Atleast the 2 after all were like best buds off the track. Not at all Larson or Elliott

Chase doesn’t have half the talent Jimmie and Jeff packed in one shoe tho

Elliott got a window to a Championship and then Larson closed that window…lol

that restart zone for charlotte roval is terrible. the fun was when the restart zone was skipping the chicane because you had the challenge of coming into the tums heartburn turn too hot. 2018 had it. 2019 had it. 2021 had harvick vs elliott, but it was good like that

Larson vs. Elliott is a lot like Johnson vs. Gordon. It will be there for some time but hopefully they can work it out. Time for Mr. H to bring back the milk and cookies and for Jeff Gordon to join the conversation.

Elliott knows he’ll never win another Championship with Larson driving the same equipment…lol

I think the only way bringing back stage breaks will be good is if they put them in a spot where it upsets pit windows. Make them on weird lap counts. Also we NEED a better tire program, whatever technology Goodyear uses for these tires doesn’t help the lap time issues especially on road courses.

I like Chase and not a huge Larson fan since his championship. So I will admit some bias. However, This makes it THREE times that larson has gotten into elliott. Chase hasn’t. Of course he’s frustrated and annoyed. Who wouldn’t be. Notice how Elliott and Bowman/Byron aren’t involved in this type of controversy.

I couldn’t have said it better! Well said on the stage breaks. I wish we could just go back to the good ‘ol days with no stage breaks. Although stages are nice no cautions would bring pit strategy back to being a key role.

Eric. I got to give you credit. Your content has gotten better over time. Your not afraid to give your opinion on things. Just my thoughts. Have a great day.

I think Chase Elliott has always been like this, but he’s gotten away with it because of how big his fanbase is and how important he is to the sport. I think the difference is now it’s not being ignored like it was in the past.

Chase was a lot more timid in the past. After Hamlin, Ross, and Larson got into him over the past seasons I think its changed him a little. After awhile you get tired of others running into you. Don’t agree with him hooking Hamlin and getting into Larson last week, but it is what it is.

USCitizen56 September 12, 2023 at 5:19 pm

I’m sure Chase has issues with the way Larson has raced him in the last few weeks but, Chase has been a little timid, I think since he struggled to get his head wrapped around racing the next gen, since he was out for 7 weeks. That’s a long time to sit out and still try to compete with guys that have that much more seat time.

To be fair, this is likely a heat-of-the-moment situation for Chase.

In 2010, Jeff started racing Jimmie aggressively for wins. One time at Texas, Jimmie got offended by one of Jeff’s moves & door-slammed Gordon on the straightaway at full speed.

In 2012, Jimmie later regretted the tension he created between the two of them.

They both moved on & maintained a healthy friendship in the latter part of their careers.

Time will tell if the same happens between Chase & Kyle…

Keep the stages. Get rid of the cautions that come with them. The good thing about stage points is if you crash out late getting couple of points won’t completely ruin your day.

The incompetence of the NASCAR suits is truly astounding. It’s almost like they’re trying to fail.

Wow, two really terrible decisions on the same day. NASCAR needs to drop the pretense and just bring back phantom debris cautions already. As for adding the chicane on the roval restarts, they’re just giving the leader a massive advantage. I love the crazy run into the first corner on restarts. It lead to some of the craziest moments in the first few roval races.
