If this charter sale actually happens that would be a wrench thrown into silly season. I will be honest that I hope this does happen. No disrespect to Matt Tift and BJ but it’s clear that they don’t have a goal to be competitive. We’ve seen in the first 3 years that this a a true backmarker team and that any aspiration of being truly competitive is out the window.
I agree, live fast really is the only fully uncompetitive team on the grid. Spire has been good with the 7 this year and could be working with TrackHouse in the future depending on rumors, Legacy has rebounded well with the 43 and will have Toyota support next year Kaulig is kind of up in the air but they’re consistently middle pack, and Rick Ware Racing which was the other really bad team seems like it has something in the world with signing Haley and working with RFK. Both JTG and Front Row are both suddenly battling to point their way in to the playoffs. are That really leaves Live Fast as a distantly last place team and honestly I’d rather see them get eaten by another team to help make last place a little more of a guessing game and let those guys go down to Xfinity and boost that program. Spire isn’t who I would have picked to buy that third charter but if what Eric said comes to be true then they could see a major leap next year as well.
Would be the next Montoya
I think the 78 team should sell. They will most likely be bottom 3 again next year and they’d lose their charter anyway. If I’m not mistaken, LiveFast is the only Cup team that runs in-house motors. They receive essentially 0 manufacturer support, kind of like Rick Ware before RWR aligned themselves with Ford, SHR, and then RFK.
They going to sell i sure
I do believe Live Fast began getting ECR engines this year at least for some races. But other than that, yeah they’re not getting much from Chevy as far as I can tell.
So excited to see svg running in all 3 nascar series. It’s such a smart move to allow him run in the lower series to get that oval experience. We’ll see what happens but if he runs good, we better watch out for a possible cup series champion. How fun would that be!?
As for Bristol, no clue. I think it is as unpredictable as Daytona anything can happen here. With so much on the line i expect some hardcore cut throat craziness to occur.
SVG is a great addition to our sport. Welcome SVG
harvick has been competitive the last 2 times @ bristol(2nd in 2021, n was chasin down buescher up until the slow pit stop) – so i’m keepin my eye on him
Same that’s why I’m. It worried about him being out of the playoffs in round one
The sale is very possible as Live Fast may lose their charter for nothing if NASCAR decides to enforce their reposetion rule
I would be excited for spire of course they will be focusing on Corey. But imagine Lajoie in the 7 car Carson in the 77 car Smith in the 74 car this is a young elite drivers lineup
I agree.
@WALTRIPFLAIR I want to go back to 45-50 cars with the new teams coming into cup we need more space and the charter system limits that this is why money team or beard Motorsport can’t run full time and we not seen the 79 Brazil team yet or the 3F racing and that finish line team
I’m conflicted, I like Truex and want him to do well, but as a Kyle Busch fan I want Truex out early to make Busch’s Championship road easier.
Excellent video Eric! Even when your videos go past the usual 12 to 16 minutes, you don’t lose your pace or organization skills. Making sense of silly season is a credit to your work.
This dude makes everything so easy for those of us that can’t watch a lot. I really appreciate what you do.
Well said
Eric the goat.
Ty Norris has everything to do with Trackhouses fast pace rise to the top. Big E taught him well at DEI
It’s very easy when u have money ….
Worth noting that Harvick only finished 10th last year because his crew goofed the last pit stop. He was a contender until that happened.
While I’m excited for SVG to get a ride, I really hope the whole concept of Project 91 doesn’t go away. Even if Trackhouse doesn’t do it, I would love to see even more diversity in other drivers giving NASCAR a go, perhaps in 23XI’s 67 car or RCR’s 33. I also really hope SVG gets time to develop on ovals and stuff so he isn’t an immediate massive bust.
Corey is gonna be a staple, he’s grown into the role well and I’m excited to see what he can do off and on the track
Love the videos eric – a suggestion for the race advancometer scale is it would be cool to see the numbers in a box or something next to their name, especially at the end to see all the predictions compared
Against popular opinion, I actually like the stage breaks at road courses. But following your “Out of the Crowd” take, I think the single file restarts are actually a really good idea, because theres no choose (at road courses its often halfway thru the ‘coming to green’ lap and sometimes they aren’t sorted) and also it prevents the 5 wide entries to turn 1. This keeps the strategy part of the cautions (which i like) and keeps the excitement factor alive (which most like).
One thing we need to factor in, especially in considering Kyle Bucsh’s win, is when did those victories happen. In Kyle’s case I consider that all of his wins everywhere came much more readily back when there was ‘real’ practices. One thing Kyle had over others is that give him a couple runs and he can figure his car’s needs better-faster than so many other drivers. We don’t have ‘real’ practices anymore.
I feel like trackhouse will be an absolute powerhouse in the coming years
