As a newer fan I’ll actually get to see the brickyatd 400 live. I hope it doesn’t produce anything mediocre because everyone hypes up that race.

Pocono is the most comparable track to the brickyard. It never put on barn burners but Pocono has done good with the new car so I’m optimistic.

As a long time fan, I’m actually a little disappointed that they’re going back to it because the Brickyard 400 was always a boring race IMO.

Yay I’m so happy/excited that the Indy oval is back. But I still kinda liked the road course but I like the oval better

Oval should be really good with the next gen hopefully

As a Hoosier who’s been to the brickyard when it was packed and has been there the last 5 years, YALL BETTER FILL THAT PLACE UP. We’ve been asking for it back, now let’s show how bad we wanted it. I think IMS should spread out the seating to make it look better also. No seats in turn 3. Only sell every other row. 100k fans can be arranged to look like a good crowd.

Btw look up the 2021 Indy 500 where it only had 125k fans in the stands. It’s possible to make this place look good with 100k

I’m a Hoosier to and I plan on being there

Already booked my hotel, and waiting on tickets. Been to every possible Brickyard since 2014, can’t wait to get back to the oval

Cool to see the Brickyard 400 return on the Oval for next year!

I was really looking forward to this video!! Honestly, I’m happy that the Brickyard 400 is returning!

As a Hoosier, who’s always considered the Brickyard 400 to be one of the best and most important traditions of my home state, I’m REALLY happy that this prestigious crown jewel race is coming back to the sacred, century old oval! Only time will tell if the racing is up to par, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this will be a good race to watch next year for the fans, and a great race to be a part of for the drivers and teams.

Fellow Hoosier here, 2022 was a great race sitting in T1, this year, while lackluster and sitting in the same section, was great as well but I’m hyped to see the oval!!

Vin wiki guys got me more interest in cup brickyard. Idk if it’s tradition tho. Started in 94

@ShawnLeider30 years is more than enough to be a tradition.

Wilkesboro definitely should also be repaved, as it deserves a second chance to do better, but NASCAR should also look at improving the short track package as well. They have made aerodynamic changes, yes, but I still think changes to the spoiler height, splitter design, and horsepower levels might help too.

@James Zeiglerthat has always happened sometimes it’s follow the leader, some tracks can’t be fixed either… quit complaining

I LOVE the fact that the Brickyard 400 is back on the schedule. I loved the prestige and history and the narrow squared corners. But I don’t want to see so many road courses leave the schedule.

81casperflip September 29, 2023 at 12:15 am

I guess everyone has short term memory. It was the most hated track

Reply
Ryan Welch September 29, 2023 at 1:00 am

@81casperflip  My favorite driver, Kyle Bush loved the Brickyard, and I heard similar sentiments from several drivers.

Reply
Austin Wilson September 29, 2023 at 1:39 am

@81casperflip hated the racing that was taking place with the gen 6 not necessarily the track itself

Any chance Rockingham Speedway returns to the NASCAR schedule in the near future? Glad Wilkesboro is staying on the schedule but really want Rockingham to return.

Reply
John Haas September 28, 2023 at 9:54 pm

Not the Cup series anyway since NASCAR doesn’t own it or speedway Motorsports and neither one of them is giving up a date or even consider renting it

Reply
AarDreMiz47 September 28, 2023 at 11:38 pm

I was there in June for hot rod power tour. They have done a ton of work to Rockingham. They wouldn’t be spending that amount of money on the facility unless they knew they were going to get a return on investment

Reply
John Haas September 29, 2023 at 12:03 pm

@AarDreMiz47 They had to spend the money they are in order to try to get like NASCAR back

Reply
Nathan Middaugh September 29, 2023 at 12:23 pm

I would love to see the Rock back as well. But doubtful until there is more safer barriers.

MICKEY LOGANO September 28, 2023 at 9:52 pm

I don’t want to see the Roadcourse go away I actually liked the racing there. I think they should just run both configurations.

I’m glad you brought up Indy being slotted on the weekend Pocono would be held on. I hope they don’t kill the momentum Pocono has with where they place their race weekend

Johnny Boy September 28, 2023 at 9:58 pm

For North Wilkesboro Speedway I think if they repave the track and use a softer tire compound which then will have greater tire wear they can easily make it a competitive race. Say created a tire that will last at least half the laps for each stage so you see more pitstops which then makes it more a strategy race on when to pit. To me races like that are more exciting then just fallow the leader type races.

Reply
SW September 28, 2023 at 10:34 pm

I don’t think the issue is tire wear for North Wilkesboro. That old surface ate up tires. The issues are the short track package and the grooves. The package I think can occasionally be good, like spring Richmond, but dirty air makes it impossible to pass. And the track makes it impossible to stick it on the outside, starting on the outside lane automatically means you’ll lose 4-5 spots on a restart. I’m fine with more races there but either the track or package (or both) need to be changed before a points race should be held there

I’m so glad that the Brickyard 400 is back! My first race I’ve been to was the 2015 Brickyard and fell in love with that track ever since!

Reply
Broady Taylor September 28, 2023 at 11:12 pm

Though it’s great to see the Brickyard 400 is great to see and I love it, there a small problem that comes with it and it’s not something it can control. Because even if you get 100,000 fans into the seats it’s still gonna look somewhat empty in the stands

YTC Sports September 28, 2023 at 11:31 pm

I had the opportunity to stop by and visit North Wilkesboro and it’s one of the nicest tracks I’ve ever seen. It really has a small town short track feel while having the capability of hosting a top series NASCAR event. Wish the Gen 6 could have raced here because it would have put on a show. They need to fix the package ASAP.

Guy Brown September 28, 2023 at 11:45 pm

Will never miss the road course at Indy, replace the Indy R/C with Road America or Montreal please, love the repave and return to North Wilkesboro…good stuff

The most memorable moments of the 3 years at Indy Road Course was AJ surprisingly winning after some late chaos and Year 2 where Chastain took the access road and surprised everybody by coming out of the turn in front of everyone
