This has been the worse kept secret dealing with next years schedule
Great decision by NASCAR though, it seems almost unanimously wanted by drivers and fans alike
The 4th crown jewel is finally back. The Brickyard 400 is here to stay hopefully.
FINALLY!!!! LETS KEEP IT THIS WAY!!!!
Kind of wish they waited to announce this with the full schedule
ITS A MIRACLEEEEEE
I will definitely ask my parents if we can go
Really hope the racing is good with the Next Gen. The last few races at Indy before it was removed were really solid.
And it’s on my birthday weekend! Hoping for a strong return to Indy!
no they weren’t
@jabber19902017 was great, 2018 was great, 2019 was okay and 2020 was decent. Just my opinion. I think the Next Gen will be solid at Indy.
@GalacJackRacing they weren’t good. All the crashing kind of gives people a false impression that it was good
I really wish they would keep this race to just Cup series ONLY. Makes it more meaningful when you finally get to race on it
I agree, it was much better when Xfinity and the trucks raced at IRP on the same weekend
Snooze Fest, we need more horsepower for this race
The transaxle they decided to go with can’t handle much more than the 670. Should just put a proper H-pattern transmission back in them.
Yesssss the brickyard 400 back!!!!!!! Someone give me a ticket
Not happy about the decision tbh. The 400 lost is luster years ago imo. Felt liked it shined largely due to the Open Wheel split during the time. Really liked the Verizon 200 race. It was cool having IndyCar race on Saturday and having top international drivers like Kobayashi, Button, and SVG driving in the Cup race. Basically, the event to me was the NASCAR/IndyCar equivalent to AEW & New Japan Pro Wrestling Forbidden Door PPV event. Will miss it a lot.
I really didn’t like the infield road course at Indy anyways, but I’m glad the rectangle oval is back.
but the racing on the Road Course was better
..not much though
@jabber1990not it wasn’t, there was no passing. Did you not watch the race this past summer?
@michaelmiguelicutti2829 there was quite a bit of it
Put Dover back to early JUNE.
Let’s go it’s official Indy is back
I like the oval, but I think the road course is a better race. More drivers have a chance of winning on the oval as their road course skills are lacking
I’m sure the Next Gen cars will do fine on the oval.
It will be interesting too see how the New-Gen car does there. And if it doesn’t work out again they can always go elsewhere.
