NASCAR is coming back to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to resurrect the Brickyard 400 in 2024 for the 30th anniversary of the inaugural race. Today we look at all of this and the North Wilkesboro Speedway coming back for the All-Star Race in 2024. So let’s look as the Brickyard 400 returns!

Are you happy or upset that the Brickyard 400 is back?
Happy
Absolutely!
Happy to see the Brickyard 400 back
Elated
HAPPY!!
Fans 3 Years Ago: “WE NEED TO RACE THE ROAD COURSE!” …. Fans 3 Years Later: “WE NEED TO RETURN TO THE OVAL!”
Next year: WE NEED THE BRICKYARD AT 30,000 SEAT IRP!! (I mean, not many fewer fans that were at the last few races at the oval, but I digress…)
Honestly fans don’t know what they want.
The fans that said “we need to race the road course” and the fans that said “we need to stay on/go back to the oval” are two entirely different groups. Not only that, the “we need to race the road course” group got fairly quiet after it was shown that the track didn’t produce much of anything good for NASCAR outside of the first Xfinity race there (and its funny how the best race at that track was this year and its viewed unbelievably poor by most people even though it was a genuinely solid race).
Xfinity racing at the rectangle proves they didn’t learn anything from why the Brickyard died the first time.
Xfinity belongs at IRP
??
@Jacob Evenson the only appeal the Brickyard 400 has is the idea of “prestige”, having your minor league at the same track nukes that prestige.
I’m glad they’re going back on the oval. But as a fan whose home track is Pocono and this landing on Pocono’s date, I wonder where Pocono ends up on the schedule now especially with the Olympic break starting the following week
I really hope that Montreal goes through and it’s after the 2-week Olympic break. I feel like that’s the best outcome for NASCAR so everyone has time to prepare for the trip up north. Excited for Indy though! Cup race is the day after my birthday!
Well I can tell you it would not be in February or March anyway Even if the date comes from Auto club. It could be before Indy though like June or July
I think Sonoma should get Fontana’s old date, and Montreal should be on Sonoma’s old date.
For now, Auto Club’s date is left blank. Looks like they’re not replacing it outright, so we might have the season with most breaks next year (cause the Olympics)
@cadillacjohn1994 Sonoma would be miserable in march though so it’s best they should go to Laguna Seca in March instead with Montreal in April and Sonoma at the end of April possibly.
@cadillacjohn1994 Marcus Smith is not moving Sonoma into the rainy season
I cannot wait for our beloved crown jewel Brickyard 400 next year. NASCAR is riding such a golden wave of momentum. The Next Gen car and NASCAR have really helped modernize the sport and revive old traditions
I’m happy that Indy oval is returning next season. All superspeedways is one of my favorites in Nascar as well as Indy.
Finally, the superspeedway is BACK!!! Can’t wait to see the NextGen shred a good race and not tires (it better not be a repeat of 2008)
Well, first off, I’m glad to hear that the Brickyard 400 is returning in 2024 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the inaugural Brickyard 400 in 1994 and as far as the Xfinity Series racing at Indianapolis goes, while there may be a part of me that doesn’t have a problem with it, I really still want the Xfinity Series to return to Lucas Oil Raceway, or IRP, as most old-school fans call it, on Saturday night because that’s something I’ve hoped for after it was announced the truck series would return there, but until that day comes, I’m happy to hear about the Brickyard 400 returning next year and hope it can put on a great show. Second, it’s also great to hear that the All-Star Race will return to North Wilkesboro and hope it puts on a great show as well. All-in-all, in the end, that’s all I’ve got to say, so goodbye!
I’m excited the Brickyard is back! But if the schedule you memtion is true, Nascar is packing the midwest races in the same month again. Chicago, Nashville, Indy. Attendance will suffer as those are all easy drives. Oh well.
FINALLY! THE BRICKYARD IS BACK! MY HOMETOWN RACE HAS MEANING AGAIN! THANK YOU, NASCAR!
I miss watching this in
2015
2016
2020
If this is true, I’ll be singing “Return of The Mack”, then “Click-Click-Boom!”
From a dutch Nascar fan, big credits to you for all the vids! You and Eric Estepp make me stay updated since theres no such YouTube Channels here, besides the paid tv channels for the years im using. I have to say its funny that apparently the Olympics arent a big thing there, atleast that is how you guys make it sound. For me it (might be biased) it makes sense that once every 4 years you have to adjust to schedule to the, arguably most prestige worthy championship. Anyway, talking about the race and the how big it was and should be, i agree with the place on the calendar. Probs move a race like the Richmond towards it..
I’m curious as to how the new car races at Indy. I’ve always thought that Indy and Pocono race as much like road courses as ovals, and as the gen 6 car does pretty well on the twisties, I think they’ll be OK on the big track. I just wish the Xfinity cars would race at IRP as they almost always put on a great race there.
I am super happy that the Brickyard is back. The road course always disappointed me with the quality of racing. This year was the best, but only because the #34 won. Now with North Wilkesboro; repaving sucks. It will at least take several years for the pavement mature, but the more they can use the track with other forms of racing, it will happen quicker. If everyone stays patient, it will become a great track once again.
All I’m gonna say is y’all wanted it and I hope y’all show up to it
Only been to one Nascar race in person. The Brickyard 400 in 2001. Other than the fact Jeff Gordon won I had a great time that weekend watching Qualifying, 2 practice sessions, an IROC race, and the 400 itself. Thrilled to see the Brickyard come back
As long as the budget agrees I’m really looking to go back to the Brickyard!
Glad to see it back on the oval, but I know plenty of other tracks that IMS can be replaced with that would produce much better racing.
This news got me bricked up fr fr. Also, can’t believe KFB sold his team, but I’m happy to see him support Brexton!
