Matt Crafton needs to be put on probation after that. Remember when Jimmy Spencer right hooked Kurt Busch back in 2003? Yeah…
Not sure what Matt did upset you so much
@David S he beat someone’s face up until they were bleeding. Not sure what Matt did to upset me so much, open your eyes.
@StewieGriffinFanProductions1999 lol.. You see the after effects, but no idea how it got to that point
@StewieGriffinFanProductions you can get popped in the nose and it look a lot worse than it is. Sanchez screaming “I’ll fucking kill you” is a worse look than Crafton starting a fight with a kid.
@David S yeah maybe a bird came down and caused his nose to bleed, you never know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“And there’s a fight between Nick Sanchez and Matt Crafton!! The tempers overflowing; they’re angry. They know they have lost. And what a bitter defeat.”
Nice throwback!! If you didn’t get it you must be new to NASCAR…
Maybe you’re all mad because the old man stopped the little kid that couldn’t handle himself
I love it that was awesome
If Harvick won and got DQ’d that would be so depressing. The final season has not gone anywhere close to the plan and if they finally got a win just to get DQ’d… mega oof
Idc what Nascar gotta say if he won he won.
It’s the rules they broke it too bad they got caught
@Trucker Cowboy Edwhat advantage did they gain from loose windshield bolts? It is a safety violation. Imagine if a windshield flew out of a vehicle at 190 mph.
Wouldn’t be depressing, you have play by nascar rules, every team knows this.
From my understanding they weren’t lined up correctly , which may have effected the draft going over his car..
Why do harvick fans turn a blind eye to the cheating and act like he’s a victim..
tony stewart being on the nhra broadcast this weekend while talladega was happening with the 4 car being dq’d is just so goofy
I actually wanted to comment to notify about Happy Harvick’s DQ a while ago….. then this vid comes up in my feed.
Probably shows how little Smoke GAF about his team in recent times. In part, it’s because Smoke beefed with NASCAR and he went racin’ on 1320 in NHRA.
Right? His lack of presence with his cup teams comes off to me like he just don’t care about the cup program anymore. I think he’s spreading himself too thin with his NHRA team, SRX, cup teams and then whatever else he’s got going on any more.
@Jonathan TolleyI don’t blame him tbh
Poor Sanchez. When I first saw his face, it just gave me the creeps. I really hope something’s done soon, I hate to see a rookie get insulted and sucker punched by somebody who’s angry because they caused the big one
If it was a sucker punch
Sanchez came across Crafton’s rear bumper. Sanchez wrecked him.
@Keith Whitmireit was a accident it wasn’t like he wanted to wreck him
@Julian rangel From the little footage that has been shown, it wasn’t an accident.
NASCAR cannot glorify fights like they do then penalize Crafton because a punch actually connected. If NASCAR penalizes him it’s because they were mad they didn’t get the punch on video to use in a promo.
The Talladega Police should suspend Crafton from free society for about 8 months to a year…imo
Why would Sanchez try to start a fight if Crafton was the one approaching him. I really don’t care for either but one side of the story makes more sense than the other.
Hate Crime?
@Bryon Kidder I don’t even know how to respond to this one
I wish Crafton a Merry off season and happy Christmas …
The Main issue for me is the fact that they had 45 minutes to calm down before meeting
I dont care either way on what side of the story is true. The concerning part is the amount of time that passed, street clothes. etc… I’ve always liked Crafton and I’m sure these young kids are like annoying flies to these veterans. However, this was a leadership moment from the moment of the accident. What did he do? Parked in another teams pit like a child. Changed clothes and waited a significant amount of time, and it certainly feels like he waited for a moment with few people and cameras around to “tap” him on the shoulder. I mean the fact that he didn’t call him by name to have a conversation feels premeditated in itself.
Also, as a father what does this teach your kids? If things don’t go your way hit someone? Yikes…
Just my useless keyboard thoughts.
Crafton always been a baby
If they deserved to be punched in the face, then yes that’s exactly what you should teach them!! That’s what is wrong with this world is people think they can do or say anything they want without any circumstances. I would be willing to bet you that you will not see Sanchez dump Crafton again
If Crafton doesn’t want to put up with some bonehead driving errors, then he should probably stop racing in a developmental series.
Correct.
At this point, just retire. Once Harvick retires, Crafton is going to be the oldest drive in the top three divisions.
Something tells me that is not the first that wanted to punch Sanchez and he will not be the last.
If yesterday was Harvick’s final “win” It would’ve been the equivalent of Sebastian Vettel’s “54” wins.
maybe NASCAR could get security camera footage from the track. the garages are tough to get into, and likely every stall has a security camera for safety reasons. no reason that the altercation couldn’t have been caught on one of those, especially since it was still daylight at the time
The mere fact it took Crafton nearly a day to produce his side of the story and then he tries to play “double victim” with the whole “he ‘sucker punched’ me at 200mph” line makes me really doubt his story. Why would Sanchez turn around and be mad at Crafton? Sanchez’s race wasn’t ruined by Crafton. His entire story doesn’t add up, in my opinion.
Age plays a significant role in this context. Matt Crafton has been an adult for a considerably longer period than Nick Sanchez has been alive. Over those years, most individuals undergo continuous personal development and maturation. The concern about the age difference stems from Matt’s status as a seasoned veteran in the sport and his role as a mentor to young drivers. Should Matt choose to confront Nick directly on pit road after the race, particularly in the presence of the media, the situation would undoubtedly take on a markedly different dimension. It’s important to note that the core issue surrounding age is not whether Nick is considered an adult but rather how Matt has seemingly grown little as one.
Very true. We should expect more from a champion
age doesn’t matter actions do. when you wreck someone at 180 you are a damn fool if you think they won’t be pissed off about it. Most of these younger drivers give off the impression of zero respect for their competitors . It’s easier just to wreck someone that pull off a legitimate pass.
@XA351GT it doesn’t call for someone to jump another man from behind. Be a damn man about it
Hasn’t Crafton been saying for a while that he was gonna punch one of these kids for being so aggressive? I could be wrong but It happened and people wonder where this came from.
Yep!
Problem with Harvick I have is what if that would have been Hamlin, he would scrapped by because I swear they don’t even check the JGR cars now since Rowdy left (yeah last year was the last time).
Thanks for the post race summaries because I never watch super speedway races, ever, yes, even Daytona. Cluster together, big wreck, uuuuugh. So, cool to get the summaries so I can be ready for next weekend 🙂
