@Elites ReviewsGood thing the current format rewards regular season performance as much as it does. If this were any of the traditional 10-race Chase formats, he’d be down and out for sure.
Hot take: I really think Ryan Blaney can correct the mistakes that he made at Vegas and Miami last year, and maybe perhaps get a win and advance to the championship 4.
Byron is probably gonna make the Championship 4 easily with the way he’s performing so far this season.
Tyler Reddick has been really solid for the 1.5 mile tracks, so I think he could make the Championshp 4 as well.
My Last pick will be Hamlin because that team has THE BEST speed so far in these playoffs.
@Joey BremerWell no one is to say of course, but its fun to predict! Blaney has looked mid pack all year (including the playoffs) outside a few races. No chance he makes it against the top dogs.
Here are my final 4 predictions : Bryon,Hamlin,Larson and I think MTJ will get kicked out barely by Buescher But ever since Michigan that team has found something and I think it’ll push him to the final 4
I got William Byron, Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell, and Martin Truex Jr and I think Byron is going to win it these were also updated from my original picks as well
If you have to predicate Larson winning 7 titles on Homestead becoming the championship race….then that alone clearly displays the huge flaw in the current format. ‘Nuff said.
The last time MTJ had more than 7 consecutive finishes outside of the Top 15 was back in 2009! (19 races in a row w/o Top 15).
It ain’t looking too good.
You’re more likely to win the Powerball but I’d love to see Buescher and Blaney somehow win the first two races just to see all hell break loose at martinsville
One factor to consider, Ryan Blaney is the only Penske car in the round of 8, and he essentially had off last week. He’s had two weeks of time for all of Team Penske to focus on getting him ready for this round.
Blaney’s also very very good at Martinsville. The last three races at this penultimate Martinsville race he’s finished 2nd, 11th, and 3rd. He might be able to do it.
Here are my final 4 picks:
Byron, Hamlin, Truex, & Reddick.
The reasons why these are my final 4 picks:
Byron: he has been the best driver all year.
Hamlin: he’s been on a role since the playoffs started. He has been a threat nearly every week.
Truex: yes he has not had the speed since the playoffs started but I’m eyeing Martinsville for him to win and advance to the final 4.
Reddick: I honestly didn’t expect him to make it this far and he does well at Vegas and homestead in the past. So I’m eyeing those 2 dates for him to at least get enough points to where he can point himself in. He also could win at Homestead he’s finished top 5 there during his RCR days and won there twice in xfinity. And now he is in better equipment than he was last year, so I expect him to challenge for the win.
Something that I haven’t heard much of since the whole Danica fiasco. Is MTJ’s state of mind.
About the time he started performing poorly is about the time that Sherry passed away.
Yes they were split up, but they were together for years.
I would imagine it is difficult (if not impossible) for him to be 100% right now.
If you’re ex-girlfriend died from a disease you knew she was going to die from, would it cause you problems at work?
Truex ain’t said nothing about her, so I don’t think anyone should read into anything into it…imo
@Bryon Kidder I hear ya. I’m not saying I’m right, but it is something to consider.
Just because he doesn’t react like you’d expect him to (making public comments). Or just because you may not let it bother you at work, doesn’t mean it wouldn’t affect him.
We’re all different, and handle situations differently.
She passes away, his on track performance tanks. Maybe it’s a coincidence, maybe not.
I was just throwing it out there.
I think it would affect most people. I have heard that the breakup was her idea to let him go. I might be wrong, but I think @bryonkidder6199 is off base thinking it wouldn’t have an impact.
Not making excuses for Truex, but honestly I don’t think his mind has really been focused on racing. Let’s not forget the loss of his longtime girlfriend. As someone who’s lost a longtime girlfriend/best friend to cancer Dec 7th 2000, it took me a long time to get over it. That’s gotta be weighing heavily on him. Even though they’d broken up before the season started, those feelings aren’t something you can just turn off. I’m sure he was still in contact with her and knew her condition before she passed away. I’m an HMS fan, I’d like to see Truex win it all in remembrance of Sherry. But if I have to pick 4 I’m gonna replace denny with Ryan Blaney and join the other top 3
My pick for the championship 4 is bryon(because of the point cushion), Larson(because of the sure victory at Miami), hamlin( because of the strong car and momentum), reddick(because he always finds a way idk y)
I think some of Truex’s woes may be contributed to the loss of Sherry. I have no doubt the man has been dealing with darkness that most of us cannot comprehend.

imma be bold here, and this might be a little controversial, but i think four drivers will be in the championship 4
thats crazy man
no way
That’s crazy. What’s next, Bowman on the front row of the ‘24 Daytona 500?
That’s wild
damn that’s crazy
MTJ average finish 8 races before playoffs: 9.875
MTJ average finish 6 races into the playoffs: 21.3
WHAT THE H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS HAPPENED?!?!?
Bad luck and Truex is most likely struggling emotionally
@Elites ReviewsGood thing the current format rewards regular season performance as much as it does. If this were any of the traditional 10-race Chase formats, he’d be down and out for sure.
Lost someone he spent a lifetime with separated or not; he is off his best
Too old
@Rob Fthat’s a lie.
Who is your Championship Four?
Byron, Truex, Hamlin, and Blaney
Byron, Buscher, Bell and Truex
Byron, Larson, Hamlin, and for the 4th driver its either between Truex or Reddick
Owners: Byron Hamlin buescher elliot
Drivers: Byron Hamlin buscher truex
For me Byron,truex,buscher, and blaney

I agree on Blaney and I hope so. I really wanna see the guy get in, and im going to Martinsville so I hope he runs well there.
I hope you right on blaney I had him in my final 4 but Riddick or burscher is going to be a stretch.
No way. Blaney is dogwater this year. 5 Top 5s through 32 races…. Not going to cut it in this round.
@Joey BremerWell no one is to say of course, but its fun to predict! Blaney has looked mid pack all year (including the playoffs) outside a few races. No chance he makes it against the top dogs.

Exactly.
Or NASCAR being rigged
@Rex Jenkins this isn’t the WWE.
How? Every track has an ace.
@TRENT Yes. You are supporting my point. Every track has an ace, therefore NO track should ever be made the championship track.

That would be so funny
Some people just want to watch the world burn.
I would love nothing more than to see Ford put 2 cars in Phoenix and Chevy to advance 2 cars in Phoenix, f-yoda and all their drivers

But Byron has had three
My ❤ is with him. With Harvick out I don’t care about the rest. He will be missed. Phoenix win??
Blaney’s also very very good at Martinsville. The last three races at this penultimate Martinsville race he’s finished 2nd, 11th, and 3rd. He might be able to do it.
He’s also pretty good at Vegas. He was leading at Vegas until I believe he spun coming out of pit road.
I’m all for it. Don’t really care about other drivers. Want Blaney and a win by Harvick.
Here are my final 4 picks:
Byron, Hamlin, Truex, & Reddick.
The reasons why these are my final 4 picks:

If someone told me before the season that Buescher would be in the round of 8 with 3 wins, I would have thought they were crazy
Darkhorse.

I feel bad for him.

@Brad Thompson maybe it’s karma?…lol

They broke up a long time ago, and he already has a new GF, so I don’t think that’s what the problem is. I think he just sucks. lol
I want the Championship 4 to be Byron, Larson, Buescher, Blaney………. But my gut is telling me it’ll be Byron, Hamlin, Larson, Bell
