What is your favorite moment from Carl Edwards’ career?

Everytime he wins, he does a back flip!

He won the All Star Race while I was in the stands. That’s the only time I got to see him win in person. Calling his shot for Texas and pulling it off was also very awesome.

After he got screwed over by NASCAR, I stopped watching races. It just hasn’t been the same since he left.

Carl is built different. He once rode his bicycle hundreds of miles from one track to another mid season. The backflip was iconic. Paved the way for the Chastain melon smash.

I tell yall what: Carl is one of the FEW drivers that I would give anything to see him come back for ONE LAST RACE…. the guy was so humble, yet sometimes definitely rubbed people the wrong way…. but, I wish I had appreciated him more when he was racing….. and I would actually rank him above Denny Hamlin as one of the greatest drivers to never win the championship. Oh, and here’s a fun fact: every single race he won, he gave his trophy to sick children in hospitals…..

This sport misses Carl! He was a real one! Hard-nosed….made it the hardway and we respected him for that as fans! We need more guys like him but it just isn’t that way anymore

I’ve watched Carl race since 2005, and man he is such a talented driver and a great human being. I sure do miss him.

Thank you Fox and Bob Pockcrass for this piece. I was new to Nascar when I discovered that I was enthralled watching Carl make his way to the front in those early years. I became hopelessly hooked as his fan throughout the ups and downs and watching him race was something that helped me enormously. When I watched the press conference where he announced he was done, I took the afternoon off from work, I was devastated that an athlete that I looked forward to watching wouldn’t be there anymore. It really has not been the same since. I do love NASCAR and racing in general but there was just something that was so compelling with him.

He was my guy. He always treated me so well. He thanked me for wearing his gear and always had a smile doing it. I was lucky enough to get to thank him myself in the garage at Darlington. Of course, I was wearing one of his shirts. He signed 3 things for me and took a picture. A class act, as always. I miss being that devoted to a driver. I’m lucky I got to tell him how much he meant to me as a race fan. Carl Edwards fan forever!
