Before I answer that question let me ask you this. What would the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Season be like if these unfortunate situations had never happened? What if NASCAR raced at tracks like Chicagoland, Sonoma, and Watkins Glen in 2020 and didn’t have these “Double Header” Races?

Personally, I think Chase Elliott would have still won in 2020 despite the Alsco Uniforms 500 and the Go Bowling 235 not existing in this timeline.

Thank’s to a source by “Beyond the Flag”, Chase Elliott would have won at Atlanta to make it to the playoffs. Not to mention other races including Kyle Busch winning at Homestead-Miami, Jimmie Johnson winning at Bristol (which would be his FINAL win), Ryan Blaney winning at Texas, Martin Truex Jr. winning at Richmond, Kevin Harvick winning both Talladega & Dover, and Joey Logano winning at Martinsville.

As far as the playoffs are concerned, Jimmie Johnson would replace Matt DiBenedetto and Kyle Larson (who would NOT be suspended in 2020 in this alternate timeline) would replace Kurt Busch in the playoffs. Kyle Larson would make it to the Round of 8 before being eliminated at Martinsville.

It should be worth mentioning that Kevin Harvick would make it to the championship 4 alongside Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, and Joey Logano (because Brad Keselowski would finish 5th at Martinsville so he would miss the playoffs by 1 point and that Kevin Harvick would NOT have to pass Kyle Busch on the final turn).

As far as my picks for the championship race:

Carson Hocevar (Trucks)
Justin Allgaier (Xfinity)
William Byron (Cup)

This years final four contenders are now the youngest(averaged out by adding their age/4) to compete for a championship since the playoffs began

2 of my 4 favorite drivers are in the championship (Larson, Blaney).

But man MTJ and the 19 completely choked this championship away. I don’t want to hear any comparisons to Harvick 2020. Harvick was screwed by the playoffs. The 19 completely didn’t show up all 10 weeks

I know right, tough luck man. But it shows how good he was through regular season to have had so many points and make it even without the top 5 at all in playoffs. Then there’s people like Hamlin who were great in playoffs but 1 race took him out at homestead

Despite the fact that Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. were both eliminated in the round of 8, I have to agree with you because Martin Truex Jr. was in a struggle in EVERY elimination race in the playoffs.

Yeah, Harvick won twice and managed to finish Top 10 in at least 50% of the playoffs in 2020. Only 1 Top 10 in the first 9 races for Truex is nowhere near what happened to Harvick.

Truex and his team had the biggest choke since Busch and his team in 2008.

Nascar gives another championship to another driver. He was the only driver to have a shock problem, but they let him slide.
