What is your favorite NASCAR track?
Darlington, Atlanta, and Bristol
Charlotte, Gateway and Daytona
I can’t choose I like those three a lot
Fan Experience: Phoenix
Racing: Kansas
Personal fav: Michigan
Overall: Talladega. With the Next Gen: Kansas and Charlotte.
I’d love to see NASCAR try their hand at the full Watkins Glen layout instead of the short version.
The one that IMSA uses that would be awesome to see that version of it in the playoffs next year!
I have wanted this for years!
Agreed. Use the Boot! I feel it would also be safer. How many huge wrecks have happened in the short chute between turn 5 and 6 (10)? Gordon, Jeff Burton, and a few others. People getting hooked cause they went a little to wide nd then find themself hitting the pedestrian tunnel wall.
it would result in fewer laps…do you really want that?
@jabber1990 if it means better racing, hell yes. Look at Road America, only 62 laps but being there in person, there was action EVERY SINGLE LAP. Some areas there was action all day, BECAUSE of how few of laps there were
I personally like Watkins Glen mainly because it’s a fast road course. But I love Daytona
@Cam DogNo, stop putting words in my mouth. I never said I like Watkins Glen because Chase Elliott is good there. There are other reasons besides that
@Cito Browne I’m sorry I didn’t know you can’t take a joke
@Cam DogI live about 8 miles from the track and I’m not kidding you literally 9/10 people have chase elliott stuff on every year and it’s soooooo obnoxious.
@mterwill9 I bet
I’m really glad that they brought back the Brickyard 400.
If the fall race at Charlotte ever goes back to the oval, that would be a great place for rhe Championship race
When I first started watching the sport in ’05, never did I think my home track of Pocono would be ranked anywhere near the top ten best tracks amongst fans. Thanks for giving that crowd a well deserved shoutout!
Tracks I’ve attended to date:
– Pocono
– Watkins Glen
– Richmond
– Charlotte
– Dover
– Indy
I’d love to see NASCAR replace Sonoma with Laguna Seca. In my opinion it’s a more challenging road course and you’re still getting the California market. Daytona or Talladega is definitely next up on my bucket list
Do Talladega first chance you get. I went with a couple buddies there for the weekend in the spring of 2017. You’ll meet some of the nicest people but get ready to party cause they’re like nothing else. Seeing the track in person is almost unreal. TV does it no justice on how huge it really is.
Just imagine the cars going down the Corkscrew…I definitely would love to see that. Maybe alternate it with Sonoma, though, in my opinion (just bring back the 1998-2000 layout…), and maybe Thunderhill.
@samfryman9635 You’ve got to see a Bristol race in person, the night race specifically.
Much love for my closest track. Dover’s weather has really hurt it the last few years, but I’m confident SMI can help it grow again, wishing the best for our beloved Monster Mile. Cheers!
Dover is a great track!
I think it should move back to week after the Coke 600 like it was until 2017.
Until they move it back it will be a rain out every year
I’m gonna try and make Gateway because it’s the closest track 2 me. I agree with your top 5 and that’s the order that they rank on my bucket list!!
Intermediate: A tie between Charlotte and Kansas (Charlotte offers passing and mayhem while Kansas offers passing and multiple groves)
Short track: Bristol (beatin’, bangin’, rattlin’ his cage moments)
Superspeedway: Daytona (Daytona 500——all needed to be said)
Road course: Walkins Glen (high speed and offers passing)
strongly considering a road trip to Iowa, been out there for Hawkeye games and would love to see another sport get following out there.
I love daytona and talladrga, but if were going by quality of racing, then i would pick charlotte, the gen 7 car has made the 600 not only bearable to watch, but so much fun to watch, i also really like las vegas too
Daytona. Great racing, an amazing show was put on during this years 500, they had a mini airshow with the USAF Thunderbirds this year too
Phoenix definitely isn’t popular with most fans but us fans in AZ show up for sure. The last 5 races there since Covid restrictions ended have sold out. The infield experience is awesome as well.
It shouldn’t be the Championship venue in my Opinion…
But with so Few options in November it’s stays
@paulywoodtheprince I get why people want it elsewhere, but this wouldn’t be that big of a topic if NASCAR went back to the Winston Cup points system.
You nailed a huge point with The Collesiuem…. novelty has worn off… same thing happened with Indy, then Indy RC, Roval, and Dirt at Bristol. NASCAR needs to not run these things into the ground till the novelty has worn off and we hate them
I LOVED Chicago… don’t think they should be going back in 24…. get some more cities on board and a street course every year on a rotation
I love Talladega Daytona Martinsville Darlington those are probably my overall favorite tracks however Kansas is in my top 5 since it’s my home track but I think the racing there has been solid especially the last several years
Pretty solid list. I’d say top 5 – Daytona, Bristol, Darlington, Homestead, and unpopular but I love New Atlanta.
Your comments on Texas is my feeling on Fontana. So many years of bad racing has burned me so bad that I cannot get over the recent races. I hates it so much in the early 2000’s and it has always easily been my least favourite track and only Indy road course could have come close.
I may be the only person but I celebrated that it’s done.
I love Phoenix. I’m not sure why people hate 6 groves of racing and amazing restarts. It’s one of my favorite races to watch.
I’ve been to 4 current tracks: Homestead, Michigan, Kansas, and Texas. Texas is home. I used to LOVE going there because it was an hour from home. I had done literally everything there is to do there. I’ve been in the garage with hot passes, I’ve been in the suites, I’ve been in victory lane, I’ve been on track during driver intros, I’ve been around the track in a pace car. I’ve been in the program twice, I’ve even been on the Big Hoss screen. It USED to be the coolest track in NASCAR and after the 2002 repave had aged, it put on some great races. After the reconfiguration it was ruined, and I haven’t been in 2 years.
