The NASCAR Cup Series is an ever changing series in the way of who is dominating at any given time. It is very fluid in this way. So today I want to look at those who lead the way in the modern day and rank the current crop of drivers heading into the 2024 season. These are the top 10 NASCAR drivers right now

What are your lists for top 10 NASCAR drivers right now?
Not Kyle Busch and Joey Logano and will never be in my book.
1. Joey Logano
2. Austin Cindric
3. Ryan Blaney
4. Denny Hamlin
5. Kyle Larson
6. Christopher Bell
7. William Byron
8. Bubba Wallace
9. Tyler Reddick
10. Martin Truex jr
@Run Rafa Run #THEBESTINTHEWORLD If you don’t think KFB is one of the best then you must be on drugs
Biased for Larson much
As a Kyle Busch fan, the issue for KFB is that because he is past his peak, he can’t really bail out mid-equipment with his talent like he used to, even if he hasn’t fallen off in ability like Jimmie Johnson or Tony Stewart did.
He never has in his entire career no cap. He tried to have his own team in the Xfinity series an it failed so badly.
@Run Rafa Run #THEBESTINTHEWORLDKligerman did good
Damn a realistic Kyle Busch fan. Never thought I’d see the day. I see people saying he has another 10 years left in his prime.
You have to be realistic when talking about your favourites. We gotta stop talking about driver accomplishments from 4 years ago when many drivers are in different situations by this point.
Jacques Villeneuve robbed
Pardon?
I think bell is a little high considering he still had less wins then truex this year
He made the champ 4 the past 2 years, definitely deserving of his spot
Bell clears in the playoffs. He’s a top 5 driver.
He a championship 4 contending driver just like Ross Chastain could be if he made the final 4 this year.
Blaney and Bell need to be switched
Hamlin is like the best driver right now to never win a championship
1 win ahead of Junior Johnson now.
10. BJ McLeod
9. Travis Pastrana
8. JJ Yeley
7. Kamui Kobayashi
6. Ryan Newman
5. Jimmie Johnson
4. Harrison Burton
3. Noah Gragson
2. Cody Ware
1. Ty Dillon
noah in front of BJ is disgraceful
Tf
Reddick is definitely top ten. But Brad is gonna be back in the top ten with the new mustang
I don’t think so, REDDICK still doesn’t have the stats to put him up there. The talent is there, but he needs to clean it up in certain areas.
I would be up for Brad Keselowski pulling off a Terry Labonte in 2024.
@Giant Hand now that I think about it, he would tie Labonte for the longest gap between championships, and heck if he wins it in 2025, he would beat the record (good or bad I’ll leave it up to you)
@Xavier Juno I don’t mind if it’s 2024 and/or 2025, as long as Brad Keselowski gets a second championship before retirement. I know Brad Keselowski is 39. So gotta make the most of it.
As a Logano fan, this is the first time I’ve ever heard anyone refer to Logano as underrated. That said, I heavily agree and that he doesn’t get enough acknowledgement. Yes, his driving style is questionable at times and I won’t deny that, but you can’t let that draw you away from the fact that he is a very accomplished driver and can be a Championship threat for the most part.
Hamlin has called him underrated in his podcast before, but that’s about the other only time I’ve heard anyone refer to him as underrated
Logano is Great on even-numbered Seasons, Mediocre at best on odd-numbered seasons (Excluding 2015)
@NASCARFAN93100 Wonder what 2024 has in store.
I agree with most of this list except I think Busch should be higher imo personally.
Sorry Jared but how the hell is christopher bell over william byron.
I think he’s comparing the consistency in there stats rather than the sheer volume of there stats alone
@Xavier Junoconsistency is in Byron’s favor too, he may have 3 less top 10’s than Bell since 2021 but he has 3 more top 5’s and an average finish of 13.4 to Bell’s 14.2
Blaney has more top 5s 10s and a championship and is still behind him……..
It isn’t a ranking of their 2023 seasons, but overall how good they are right now. Byron had his best season this past year but looking at the past two-three years, Bell probably has been better than him
Idk considering Byron was the most consistent driver by far last season, I’d have him above bell, since that was always Byron’s main criticism
Ya but Bell has been a bit more consistent compared to Byron imo
@Xavier Juno sure, but if I wanted a guy to go win me a race it’s Byron over bell for sure rn
@AcidSquidArtStudio I mean everyone knows that Larson is the best. Take away his wins and Byron is still the most consistent last year regardless
Currently (not in order)
1 Larson
2 Byron
3 Busch
4 Blaney
5 Truex
6 Lagano
7 Chastain
8 Elliott
9 Hamlin
10 Buescher
Someone finally acknowledged joey logano, he has had 2 championships and like 15 wins since 2018
I appreciate you being honest about chase and not overreacting to a bad season like most people are
Usually agree with everything this guy says, but Reddick not being in the top ten is well strange.
Wins in the last 3 years.
Christopher Bell -6
Denny Hamlin -7
Chase Elliott -7
William Byron -9
Kyle Larson 17
I just can’t see how Byron is behind anyone but Larson if we’re talking about “right now.”
List isn’t wrong. Kyle Larson is the best there is. He’s likely the unluckiest guy in Cup, but he has enough talent to mostly overcome that.
I was right with you for most of the list with a couple I would have moved up or down, here and there. I was actually looking closely at stats for Chase Elliott after the season was over and finishing 17th after all the missed races I thought was pretty remarkable. I thought that Reddick was going to be on the list, but I forgot Bell on my list and well he became an honourable mention for me. I had the 48 as honourable as well as the 17. Not the 45.
Can’t argue with your list — I think Logana my be a tad stronger than his stats, and Larson somewhat weaker (one thing is for sure, Larson is the DNF king — but that’s a potentially significant Achilles heel if it continues at the `23 pace…). Ty Gibbs for all his youthfulness, seemed to have matured noticeably over the year, so one to watch…
