The access we have to teams and drivers can’t be found at this level of sports anymore. The F1 VIP passes don’t get you around the drivers as often and you feel almost in the way from what I gather. NASCAR’s general admission still allows for possible driver interaction. VIP/Hot pass? I hope you like hanging out with the crew during pit stops bc you can do that!
He’s right we are a bit spoiled as much as it’s an odd way of saying it
I feel like certain fans genuinely hate the sport. They want Toyota to leave, NASCAR to not try and reach try nee venues, they’re against everything that would make the sport better.
VIP passes at Richmond are like $500 , not something most can afford. Hell the Fan View at Daytona is $100 , Richmond $20 …
@prodigy-hu6dy well said…agree with you 100%, it’s always valid to disagree with the organization but bitching over everything does nothing
I actually met Joey at Dover in the grandstands. No special ticket required. He just came over to say hello and take pictures with people during a rain delay. Obviously that’s not a weekly thing, but still shows the amazing accessibility the sport uniquely offers.
That also says a lot about Joey and his character
No one likes him
Joey really is the good dude we see on TV- smile, good mood n all that. Once strapped in behind the wheel, he turns into a hungry dog
@@jakedodson2911what do you mean I am a huge logono fan been ever since golden retire
I’m not holding my breath just yet on Gragson going to SHR officially. I think he’s just scouting around right now, considering his options. I’ll believe it when I see the official announcement and press conference for the official signing. I think Gragson would be a good choice, that is if he’s improved on sensitivity, as well as performance, and I think SHR will be okay if they keep the team stable enough for him to succeed in, but… until it’s confirmed that he’s going to Tony and Gene’s crumbling organization, I’ll just consider this a simple scouting venture.
It’s getting announced over the weekend or sometime next week. 1 Pearson I seen on x said heard the 14th another said the 10th and the other week I seen said within 2 weeks
@@johnhaas2523 I hope you’re right. As much as I think this is kind of iffy, they’d be stupid to pass this opportunity up.
@@cadillacjohn1994I think Legacy was a lot of the reason his season was such a dud. Hopefully SHR improves or else it’ll be much the same.
SHR needs a driver with a sponsor or five to cover the majority of the season. Noah has that. Just like Amarola had Smithfield bank rolling him. That’s why he was in the car. Noah would be no different.
I think Logano is correct, but his wording (spoiled) could’ve been a lot better. The only reason he’s getting shots fired at em is that he used spoiled…
There should be more rotation between drivers in cup and xfinity. If a driver (even a usually good one) has an off year or two, it shouldn’t seem so weird for a driver to just drop back down once in a while to prove their worth and add more rotation for the teams to really find talent.
while i like the idea on paper, in practice it would be a nightmare for sponsors, drivers, teams, OEMs, and most importantly the fans. But I think a rotation system could work in the lower series
I agree with Joey. We have it really good as nascar fans. I traveled to the US strictly to see nascar and I got to meet my favorite driver BK. Nascar’s environment is great and I also think fans have a huge part in it. From what I have seen fans are for the most part respectful of the drivers time and space. It’s a great thing
I hope I can meet BK next year at Darlington. He’s my favorite too, and I feel like he’s one hell of a dude. Keep crossing the pond! I love hearing people from other countries taking an interest in this sport!! Much love man!
Logano is right… When F1 was in Vegas you were being pushed out by the security, you won’t be able to meet an NFL player before a game, unless you decide to spend big Money for 50 yard line tickets
Joey Logano is awesome, I’ve not really been a fan of him, but when my wife was down in the signing area hoping to get her favorite drivers autograph, she got knocked over by one of his fans and he stuck around to make sure she was ok. I’ll always have respect for him after that
My biggest issue with SHR has been the disconnect with Gene & Tony towards NASCAR then conjunctively with Ford. When Tony signed over to Ford their idea was to be championship level like HMS/Chevy in a strong partnership with Ford Performance. It took a year at first but they were the overall consistency class of Ford till the last 2 years. This could be a lame duck year for SHR with Ford & if I was Ford I’d pull out all the stops to reaffirm that they want them long term.
I grew up around motocross and I remember seeing kids get given parts of the riders bikes . You get the chance to watch the bikes ride past you, riders chill in the ice bath and photos with riders. F1 thrives off a “ superhero “ appeal of drivers competing in cars you can’t fathom, NASCAR relatively relatable as you got watermelon farmer Chastain, clammer Truex and drive cars resembling production cars an average person can buy ( I know it isn’t even remotely like the 80’s era but better than buying a Porsche 911 you’d see at a GT3 race)
It’s pretty easy to see when a Quote is from a drivers PR person and when it’s from the driver himself. Noah’s take about his highs and lows are definitely from the heart and give him much respect for sharing those. I think the Noah to the 10 will be a good fit and top 15/20 in points will be a pretty good season for them.
Noah certainly couldn’t do any worse than he did in the 42 with LMC… That whole team for the most part was a dumpster fire all season. With only Jones having a few good runs.
I hope LMC is better with Toyota and Noah can learn from last year to make improvements next season!
Logano is right. We met him in Michigan minutes before the green flag, he along with other drivers took their time to chat and sign autographs. I can also understand that there are different characters among the drivers, some take the time and some don’t, that’s also ok! My 12 year old son was in disbelief.
honestly i fully agree with Logano but like you said the word “spoiled” is the only reason this got any attention at all. and i don’t think he’s necessarily wrong, i’m sure lots of fans are very appreciative of the opportunity to meet drivers or media/team members but i do think generally the fans kind of take it as expected or part of the culture at this point. which it is, but i’m sure it’s allot on the drivers shoulders and i don’t think we give them enough credit for all being so patient and giving with fans for 38 weeks out of the year.
Joey’s not wrong. My family met a few drivers at Kansas and it was awesome. You never see other world class athletes pregame. But yeah, getting to the track is a great way to get autographs for the kiddos.
Joey is a top shelf guy and driver. As he learns he becoming the future I think
Joey was speaking facts .
Joey is right. What other sport has their athletes gives time to their fan’s with autographs? Pictures with the fan’s? GIVES their fan’s pictures? Not the NFL, NBA, or MLB, NONE. NASCAR IS incredibly giving sport to their fan’s. We are very fortunate.
Joey Logano has raced with the greats, yes his career started In 2009 and that was not that long ago, but look at everyone he’s raced against , his perspective on the sport leans more in there direction because of that I feel, I think he makes that even more clear when he talks about the sport
Joey is right! I’ve met him (and others) multiple times at the track and other events. The drivers are very accessible to their fans
