I’ve been saying this since Berry went to SHR, and now that Gragson is rumored to also being going there, I see the possibility of either Hass backing out to focus on F1, Steward backing out to Focus on NHRA, or Both. With this happening, JR has been looking for a way to get a cup team for a while now, and especially if 2 of his past drivers from Xfinity drive there, he buys in to the team, either as a co-owner or full owner. I can also see them switching back to Chevy if this were to happen.
You know Smoke has always been busy, Dirt racing and team, ownership of multiple tracks and a dirt series….. Smoke may have issues with the management but he committed to all types of racing.
@@kharnthebetrayer1575everyone just has this conspiracy theory since Josh signed with SHR and now Noah. Josh was who Kevin and Rodney wanted. Noah it’s about money and sponsorship
I just can’t wait to see the tempers flaring in the 2024 NHRA Top Fuel class. Tony Stewart, Steve Torrence, John Force Racing, Team Kalitta it’s going to be insanely competitive.
IDK if these have been covered, but for anyone who wants Xfinity and Truck series news:
1. Jake Garcia to the ThorSport #13 (Truck
2. TRICON Garage to keep the same full-time lineup (Truck)
3. Brennan Poole to the Alpha Prime #44 (Xfinity)
4. Kaz Grala won’t be in the Sam Hunt Racing #26 for 2024, will still have a full time driver (Xfinity)
5. Kyle Sieg full-time for RSS Racing in the #28 (Xfinity)
6. Dawson Cram full-time in the JD Motorsports #4 (Xfinity)
7. Jack Wood to run 14 Races for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in the #91, will compete for ARCA west championship with the same team (Trucks)
8. Tyler Ankrum to leave Hattori Racing #16 for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in the #18 full-time (Trucks)
9. Anthony Alfredo leaves BJ Mcleod MotorSports #78 for the Our MotorSports #5 full-time (Xfinity)
Now you’re all caught up!
It’s fair to question Tony Stewart’s response, but to all also be fair to the team it’s a wait and see moment for them, let alone us fans before we can mediporiically throw a flag on the play. 2014 showed what a hands off Tony Stewart trusting his team can do.
And this season although not being the favorites they still captured the Xfinity series championship. With out the boss not being around as much, the team still has plenty of cabiblity and even more reasons to stay motivated It’s up to them to see if that success continues
I don’t like the fact that because NASCAR teams are so reliant on sponsorship, Kaulig Racing essentially has to trade Justin Haley and Allmendinger for Daniel Hemric. How disappointing.

Yes if Tony was present the team would do better but that’s not where his heart is. He is finally enjoying his life. That’s with his wife and NHRA. Good for him!
I would say Roger Penske is a prime example of having a lot of irons in the fire. He is doing ok. Tony has always had good people around him. Although, I think they fell behind in the car development side of the house and still had not recovered for the 2023 season.
It’s more than that Tony is old school racer just as Rodney and I don’t know what they have for good engineers. Loosing some of the best employees with the next gen aka fabrication people who could massage the body just right to find speed or something with the chassis hurt them
Eric its really hard to say whether Tony being there or not has an effect. I think today with all the sim work done behind the scenes we may not see who is helping/hurting when putting in the work. Also, you should totally go out and try to cover an NHRA event this year. Maybe do a little compare/contrast. Totally different experiences but i love them both. Edit: NHRA Sonoma will be the first week of NASCAR Olympic break.
They don’t say this when Roger Penske has down years. I think Smoke is very calculated and would put more into NASCAR when it’s warranted. NASCAR is such a great organization, the teams lose money, so what are we talking about here. And besides, Smoke already has built a championship team in NMRA .

Kinda left some info out there. Leah is stepping away for a year to focus on starting their family. And Tony didn’t put himself in her seat, they (her & her team) told him they wanted him in the seat. But regardless, Smoke is going to be a Father – which will be the MOST important thing on his plate. And the most time consuming.
Awesome news video. I’m happy for both AJ Allmendinger return to NASCAR Xfinity Series to drive #16 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing full-time next year in 2024 and Tony Stewart to drive his wife Leah Pruett’s NHRA top fuel car next year in 2024.
Not sure what’s going on with Gibbs but the 16 car sounds like a perfect fit for Aric Almirola. I can’t help but wonder if that’s not a missed opportunity for an All-Star Car.
Wherever A.J. races, I’ll be there to watch him, even if it were shopping cart racing! A.J. has a pulse, unlike most of the drivers from Penske, Hendrick, et al. Tony Stewart puts his efforts where he thinks they will be most appreciated and worthwhile. I watch all forms of racing, and NHRA has welcomed Tony and winning abilities a hell of a lot more than NASCAR has in its WOKE Era. Oh, by the way, I think Stewart Haas just won an Xfinity Series Championship in 2023. I know, in this Crap Shoot of a NASCAR world playoff system it’s hard to put any stock in anything anymore, because it isn’t about celebrating a year’s worth of racing performance excellence like in every other form of racing, it’s about who can survive the dumpster fire at the end of the last race of the year. Go get ‘em Tony! Be safe, and bring your smile to more winner’s podium celebrations!
Eric,
You have the best and most comprehensive show about Nascar. I never miss an episode. Allmendinger makes fans out of everyone with his attitude and winning style. I wish he could stay in the cup series, but he is a winner no matter where he races because the fans love him.

Ford contract is up after 2024 season.
I like it.
I have thinking the same thing. Changing one big name for another will get the sponsors onboard.

I dunno how many NASCAR pilots has tried drag racing, but Richard Petty was the last NASCAR driver I know to run 1320, back in ’65

Completely ignored Eric to read this. Thanks for being straight to the point.

That’s the reason Matty D cant get a ride.
I’d love to see a really good split seat car. Image if it’s in the hunt for the owners champ with 3 different drivers.
