We NASCAR fans are a very nostalgic set of people, and many times we do not see the good or memorable things that are right in front of us. Today I want to look at drivers, cars, and tracks that are helping to define this era of NASCAR racing that may not make it to the next one. These are 7 things about modern NASCAR we’ll miss in a decade.

What do you think you’ll miss about how NASCAR is today?
I’ll sure miss the cars when they’ve all been replaced with crossovers.
The Daytona road course and the LA clash
McDowell Supremacy!
The crossover drivers.
Put the numbers back on the door
People will miss Kyle Busch for certain. He’s the last of his kind: A driver who had a big personality who had the talent to back it up. It’s always happened with drivers of this era.
What about Brexton being His replacement? He’s Kyle’s son
@@WheresMyLeader Tbh, it won’t be the same. Even then, Kyle Busch is a generational talent. Brexton isn’t even in ARCA. Let’s not jump the gun yet.
@@austinemms9772I’m sure it won’t be too different though. He’s a Busch. I’m sure you remember old Kurt.
Kyle Busch is in the video tho
There will always be a race where a really good driver is going to show off the best car and take it to the front , maybe a few times….. to show what it’s all about. Even ‘the “bad luck” green car. Labonti’s and Bush’s are, and will always be legends.
Alex Bowman has basically taken Kasey Kahne’s place as the 4th hendrick driver
lots and lots of similarities between the two
That’s a pretty good analogy.
We will never celebrate Alex Bowman Friday though.
I remember when Ryan Blaney was considered to be Penske’s Alex Bowman.
#1 in our hearts
I think the Next Gen if it’s around until the early 2030s. I’m sure the racing will get better with time but people will still complain that it’s not as good as it could be. People already miss the Gen 6 which was good everywhere except intermediates and miss the COT despite its odd look and lacklustre racing the first few years (as least from what I’ve seen. Didn’t watch until the Gen 6 era).
Drivers like Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney and Ross Chastain will be considered veterans by the time the 2030’s arrive. Now I got thinking of Watchman River.
I doubt fans will miss the racing on short tracks and road courses that the Next-gen has produced. Many were looking back at how the racing was with the COT and Gen 6, and were wishing they could go back
The Next Gen issue will be fixed
I can tell you that I think people won’t miss the roval. It’s ran its course. We all love Auto Club. What it’s going through now is sad. We will all miss Auto Club. It’s an amazing track. And we will all miss Kyle Busch. Love him or hate him he is a tremendous talent and a phenomenal race car driver.
Nah the Roval is awesome
I’ll be happy Bristol dirt is gone and I’ll be happy to see a new short track for California.
I’ll miss the gen 4 cars and I also mainly miss the old NASCAR nostalgia
I miss the ford thunderbirds
And chevy monte carlos.
I won’t miss Bristol dirt but I will miss the Charlotte Roval. It’s one of the few road courses I look forward to. The Charlotte oval has been fantastic lately though so I understand why it will go.
Im going to be one of those people who miss bowman in the 48 i grew up a jimmay fan and seeing bowman put the 48 back in vivtory lane especially at dover was truly special and something no other driver will ever be able to replicate i hope he stays in that 48 till the end of his career hes certainly worthy of carrying on the legacy and he happens to be the only hendrick driver i dont hate so theres that to
Alex Bowman in the 48 hits hard. I really hope this injury doesn’t affect him long-term and he goes back to winning.
It is worth considering that with 4 drivers all within 5 years of age of eachother, Hendrick will likely have to let someone go at some point even if all 4 are performing, in favor of not having to do a complete rebuild 10-15 years from now.
I’m gonna miss… all of it. I only started watching in 2019, and I haven’t missed even a truck race since. And since I’m only 16 now, it was a huge part of my life throughout middle and high school and I’m sure I’ll be nostalgic for it for the rest of my life.
What drew you to nascar in 2019?
Not really sure honestly. I had watched bits of nascar in 2015 when my dad turned it on and said “look, it’s like the movie cars but in real life!!” Then I saw an ad for the auto club 2019 cup race, watched the race, and pretty much never looked back
@@InsaneCelery238 Favorite driver(s)?
Haha, well like i said, I started watching in 2019 and after Bristol Matt DiBenedetto was my favor-
Yeah its been a tough last couple of years lol
You’re the man Jaret. Happy Holidays! Thanks for consistently adding to my NASCAR experience.
Auto Club being gone is so, so sad. I think people will appreciate Kyle as they do Jimmie, JG and other after they retire. The Roval is fun, but with this car another oval race at Charlotte would be great.
Here’s a nice Q: What if NASCAR did something similar to 2007, but had the Gen 6 and Gen 7 at specific track types? Like the Gen 7 at superspeedways and intermediates and the Gen 6 at short tracks and road courses?
I’m gonna add something else. Custom built engines. Teams are more and more conglomerating on engine building and the inevitable is a universal crate. With the crate bodies and tight suspension rules, we already basically have “crate cars” out of the box.
You still have the ability to see teams shine in the engineering department, emphasizing the “team” aspect. In reality, it is becoming more and more driver individualistic.
I missed the scallops the moment forward numbers were confirmed.
I wonder if you could add any of the owners to the list. Rick, Roger, Joe and Jack aren’t getting any younger.
I remember stressing out as a Jeff Gordon fan in 1997 at the inaugural Auto Club race as there was a lot of questions as to whether or not he was going to make it on fuel to the checkered flag. Because of that moment alone that track holds a special place in my heart. I hate that I never had the opportunity to go to that track in person.
Don’t cry because it’s over smile because it happened! So many memories growing up. Became a fan of the sport when I was 4 or three years old. One day I’d like to work for the sport I love in some sort of way
I will say that apart from a few stages here and there, the plate racing especially the past couple races has been phenomenal
